“Excellent stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2012

We booked with benodet breaks for 13 nights in July. We stayed in a 3 bed 2 bathroom mobile home which was excellent throughout and the reps were pleasant and helpful. The site had plenty on offer for all ages and close to the beach and town. The local large supermarket is in walking distance and reasonably priced, there is a shop onsite which is expensive with limited stock. Overall a very good holiday and would happily return.

“Even better than last year!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2012

Loved it here last year so decided to come back again which we never usually do. Was a bit apprehensive in case it didn't live up to expectations.. Well it surpassed them. We were there from 30 June until yesterday. Staff were really friendly and helpful at all times. Facilities were great used all of them this year. Food in restaurant was lovely, bar great craic, zumba class free and a good laugh. Acrobat wire was scary but great our 6 yr old did one too which was brill. We went with benodet breaks who have lovely pitches on grass with loads of space around them and right beside a playground which was great comfort with the small kids. Did think some of the other pitches were not as nice as ours so maybe worthwhile doing research before booking. All in all a great holiday well done to all at port de plaisance!!

“Disappointing”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2012

We stayed the last week of June and first week of July this year. Our holiday was a bit of a let down mainly because of the horrible rain but that was just unlucky. Benodet sea front and beaches were lovely but i think the area itself is quite and not a lot of activities for families. There seemed more to do two hours north or to the west in Moribhan. Concarneau walled 'Ville Close' is not to be missed.

The site itself was a bit of a let down. The saving grace was the indoor pool which due to the weather we spent a good bit of time. I should have read the reviews when it said stay at the back of the site due to the noise from the nightclub. Don't know if were getting old but the electro pop shaking the chalet was not what we were expecting. The food from the take away was really good quality but the first time we went at 6.30pm to the restaurant we were told no food until 8 p.m. Again not very family friendly again this might have changed in July but the brush off we got meant we went to eat outside the camp for the rest of the holiday.

The kids club only seemed to start up in July just before we were leaving. So we don't know if it was good or bad. All the other activities horse riding, the pedal carts and the climbing wall/abseiling could all be done by purchasing Yelli tokens and were expensive. None of the major company's Keycamp or caravan holidays seem to book people to stay here and we can see why now. We stayed last year with Yelloh at Côte de Nacre, I think Yelloh should bring some of the staff down from there to improve customer experience.

Extremely concerned with the quality of the services we provide, we respect a charter of commitment to service quality for the whole of our establishment.
The restaurant is open and serve food from 6.30pm to 10pm (untill 10.30pm and noon until 2pm during the week end).
Our Kids club are running from the 06th of april till the 23rd of september 5 days per week minimum, on arrival we give each Family the entertainment schedule for the week, there are 3 clubs: Kids, Junior and teens club and its free. On Sunday there is a welcome meeting and all information about entertainment schedule is provided. .
On the campsite, the whole team works together and share a common goal ; guarantee high standard holidays in a family campsite.
We remain at your disposal to answer any question you may have,

“Avoid not for families”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2012

Benodet itself is beautiful and we have camped for the past five summers in France and the last four with Yelloh this site is their worst. The sites are are cramped and on top of one another. The restaurant doesn't serve food until after 8 pm. The pool is a great size but not supervised and as a result hygiene is not up to much. All the kids activities on site are extra and expensive. Kids club was advertised but not running until July in the last few days of our stay. The bar and nightclub has music blaring until 1 am and can be heard throughout the camp site. It seems to be run all year around for the locals and the campers are a bit of convenience to Yelloh. I witnessed two people complain about the noise and got a shrug of the shoulders. One English family left after the first week as the thumping music on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday was enough for them. I would recommend Benodet but not this site.

In reply to your message, we would like to clarify the way our services are operated in greater details. Extremely concerned with the quality of the services we provide, we respect a charter of commitment to service quality for the whole of our establishment.
The restaurant is open and serve food from 6.30pm to 10pm (10.30pm during week-end).
The pool is supervised and give all the water hygiene control. The children have to be under the responsability of parents.
Our Kids club are running from the 06th of april till the 23rd of september, on arrival we give each Family the entertainment schedule for the week, there are 3 clubs: Kids, Junior and teens club and its free. On Sunday there is a welcome meeting and all information about entertainment schedule is provided. We do have entertainment in the evening too but certainly not loud music until 1 am nearly every evening.
We are very surprise by your opinion as you did not inform us during your stay.

“Nice site in quiet area”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2012

Myself and my wife got married in August 2011, and for our 'honeymoon' we decided to bring our 2 kids (ages 2 and 1 at the time) camping in France. We travelled from Belfast to Roslare, which took around 4hours (not including stops), which with the two young kids was not as bad as we thought it was going to be. The boat with Irish Ferries was great as usual, with loads of kids entertainment and facilities. Half decent pint of guinness too i might add!

Eventually when we arrived at the camp site, it took a while to find the Keycamp rep (who was cleaning our caravan) but he eventually came. I think the guy was dutch, and he spoke english well, but his personal hygene was awful. His body odour was enough to make you stagger slightly.

He showed us to the caravan was extremely clean, and very well presented. We had a SuperNova with decking, which was great for letting the kids run around on! Not much privacy between caravans. On other sites you get trees, but this one there was a line of dead bushes no bigger than the height of my knee! This may not be the case for the whole site. The campsite was very large, but thankfully we were close to the front. The pool was great, though I didnt really notice any staff supervising, maybe I'm wrong. The indoor pool was great too, and useful because of the unpredictable brittany weather! I think on the Saturday night there was some sort of disco or rave on in the bar as the music was very loud, but it settled down quite early (10/11pm).

The restaurent was lovely, but quite pricey as you would expect! Free WiFi in the bar too which was great.

Few tips for people travelling here or to Benodet:

Remember if you are bringing young kids bring swimmer nappies and rubber rings etc, the shop extremely expensive (as are most site shops). Also bring flip flops as the ground around the pool area is coarse stone and kills your feet!

There is a supermarket near this camp site, DO NOT use it, it is sooo expensive, you are far better off (if you have a car) travelling to near by quimper, as the supermarkets there are far cheaper, and have a better selection!

Benodet as a town is also unbelievably over priced! (£8 for a coffee and a crepe!?!?!)

I gave this camp site 4* as we had no problems with it, however I noticed that KeyCamp were not advertising this site this year (2012). Only speculating, but maybe they pulled the plug on it as they did not get great feedback from customers!
