“Nice Enough”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

Have eaten here a few times. A bit disappointed with the roasts on a Sunday but the Lamb Burger on the main menu is fantastic - would recommend it.

“Good pub grub”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2012

Have eaten at the Woolpack on a number of occasions, mainly Sunday lunchtimes. Food is generally good. Generous helpings. Nothing special, but nothing to complain about either.

“Nice building, reasonable snacks, no atmosphere”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2012

Nothing wrong with the place, but it's a lovely old building with a modern housing estate all around it. Always has trade, but difficult to tell what market they're iming for.
Bar snacks and light dishes are good, staff friendly and price OK.
Probably a safe bet for a meal, but not spectactular.

“Don't expect service with a smile!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2012

I have eaten here a few times and the food is much better than it used to be, it is pub food and you get what you pay for. It's very cheap and if you are a real 'foodie' then I suspect you will not enjoy it. If you want a cheap no fuss meal of fish and chips or a burger then it does the job. The steak is not worth the money. Like everything it is subjective and depends on what you are used to. The pub itself is an OK place to have a drink with friends.

The WORST thing about the pub is the extremely unfriendly landlady!! She clearly does not enjoy running a pub or interacting with the public, struggles to smile and is downright rude at times. I have heard many people make this type of commment so it is clearly a running theme. It is a shame as she really lets the place down. The other staff are friendly and helpful.

“avoid unless desperate”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2012

considering the catchment area of this pub it is disappointing that the food is so unreliable, we have been eating in there on and off since it opened in the late 80's and with 2/3 exceptions the food is consistently poor, they don't seem to keep their decent chefs for long, it's so close to our house and yet the food is so unpredictable i returned my loyalty card and haven't been back since !
