Not as clean as I would have expected based on earlier reviews. Corridors and stairs were still dirty at 3pm! Having visited other hotels in the area looking for vegetarian food I wouldn't necessarily rate this as the number 1 hotel. I couldn't access the wifi. Bathroom was very small and the shower was a warm sprinkle. Beds were comfy and firm with TV and complimentary Tea and coffee.

The staff was very accommodating and helpful.
Note that there is no escalator or elevator inside the building.
The restaurant in the hotel served a decent breakfast- fried noodles, eggs, baked red beans, sausages, porridge, n toasted bread. Generous enough to replenish the food.
We stayed in Room 306- a room for three. The door couldn't be bolted from inside and it kept making noises when it's windy due to its movement.

Pros:
-Very close to Kinabalu park entrance and Mesilau natural area.
-Really good wifi, at least in my room and in the lobby.
-The restaurant is Chinese cuisine and has good, enjoyable food in reasonable variety. They will also pack a lunch for you, not great but edible and convenient.
-Rooms are humble but clean. Windows have good screens. No AC but a good fan, all that is needed at this elevation.
-Safes available in the office.

Cons:
-Hot water is a bit weak (warm up the unit for at least 10 minutes prior) and water pressure low, but it is adequate. Shower drainage is adequate and water does not get all over the bathroom floor as in many places like this.
-Hotel is noisy, especially late at night on weekends when people are partying in the back parking lot, right under the room windows. Bring earplugs and run the fan on high to white out some of the noise.

Summary: not at all a luxury hotel but very adequate for basic needs and quite enjoyable. Nice view of the peak too.

Extremely small room and poorly maintained. Water pressure was so low showering was almost impossible. Missing shower curtain, missing light bulbs, only bath towels but no bath mat or hand towels etc. Fan only, no air-con.

The room for 3 persons are good enough or a night's sleep. The room is small but clean - although the pressure for the shower was low. Location wise, it is within 5 minutes walking distance to the market.

Yes..even this hotel is old, we satisfied with their service. Paid for RM130 for double bed room , room was face to the raflessia replica. In the morning, peak of Mt. Kinabalu can be snap just fr. our room. The location of this hotel was near by pekan Kundasang, bank (only Allied Bank), stall of food, fresh vege n fruits n war memorial just by walking.
So many place of interest nearby eg: dairy farm, sabah tea ark, hot spring & fish spa by driving for a day.
No air cond in the building, and totally not necessary coz the weather quite cool.

Room Tip: pick / request a room with facing to the mount kinabalu.
