My wife and I pass through Tomintoul several times a year and we always stop for a bite to eat here. We`ve always looked forward to the pancake with bacon and maple syrup as it`s done very well and is very tasty. We passed through yesterday and had different choices from the menu and to our delight they were just as good.
The food was cooked and served by a very pleasant young chap who is hoping to very soon start working at the lecht and I wish him well.
However, we won`t be back. The reason being is that I was charged 60p for paying by debit card and despite the bill being over £11.
I appreciate that there is a cost involved with your bank and also with your terminal supplier, however, 60p is excessive and most of this cost should be absorbed by the business. If not you will lose custom, as you just have. Did not leave our customary tip as a consequence.
As a customer I do not expect to DIRECTLY pay your bills .
