“Fantastic location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2013

We stayed in the yellow Bird for 2weeks after Xmas. It has a great location, being close to restaurants, bars and a couple of Nightclubs. Howerver, the noise from the Reggae Lounge was very loud until 3a.m or so. It was OK for us as we were out late but if you fancied an early night it would be very difficult to sleep.
The room was basic, but I understand that all the rooms will be upgraded soon, the ones that have already been done are amazing. I would love to stay in one of the newly done-up rooms, they are like a 5star hotel, so maybe next time!!
Great to sit on the balcony and watch the world go by, looking out onto St.Lawrences Bay and the amazing sunsets. The view is really fantastic. The Greek themed restaurant is excellent, and the staff friendly, prices are good too.
Small pool with some sun-loungers, never gets too busy as you are so close to beautiful beaches. Very handy location to get a bus in either direction and at 2bajan dollars a pop it's very cheap to travel on public transport.
Superb restaurants in the area all within 5mins. Pisces is across the road, and although this is one of the more expensive ones, you can't leave without going for a meal there!

I never get tired of reading the lovely reviews of our hotel and yours was very nice. I am happy that you were able to enjoy the music that comes with our location. I always tell my guests, "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em!". Think about it, how many of us get to go clubbing regularly like we did when we old enough to do so? Most of us work five days a week and have errands to run on weekends.

Staying at our hotel in St. Lawrence Gap gives my guests the opportunity to revist those carefree days. So if you book a room at our hotel, remember to pack your "dancing shoes"!

from the very first email with the hotel i found the staff to be pleasant and helpful. They booked my reserverations for new years eve, and when an upgrade became available they emailed me straight away to ask if we would like it. I accepted and am delighted to say the room was amazing. from everything you could possibly need in a kitchen from a toaster / kettle/ microwave down to condiments provided.

All rooms I believe have a sea view, and this in its self is beautiful. Our maid was so friendly and kept everything spick and span, and when we had a minor issue with the room, maintenence sorted it efficently and with a minimum of fuss and no disruption to ourselves. The restaurant downstairs (Opa) was well priced and food was delicious. My only suggestion would be to have some lighter snacks availalbe in the day such as a sandwich etc, but this wasnt a problem.

Hotel is well situated and within minutes walking distance of some fantastic beaches. I note that some people complained about the noise from the surrounding clubs but this wasnt a problem for us.

All staff were extremely helpful, and offered great tips for getting out and about especially Dale !!
Cant wait to go back there, and would recommend it to anyone.

Room Tip: Room 301 is the newest upgraded room which we had, offers fantastic views, huge extra king size bed...

The yelllow bird hotel is a lovely hotel on the very edge of st lawrence gap, idealy located for resturants all with differant flavours, mexican, brazilian, greek and local all within in 3 minutes (or less) walk from the hotel, there is a beach directly across from the hotel, you can get to this by crossing a not very busy road, having said that ,the beach is not ideal as it is very small, but just a short walk (5 mins) up the main road there are some stunning beaches, where you can hire sunloungers and parasols ( i suggest getting them from the guy nearest to the carrib beach bar, they are more comfortable) Back to the hotel, All the staff are very friendly, very polite and very helpfull, THE MAJOR DOWN SIDE TO THIS HOTEL IS THUS, although it is idealy positioned for restuarants, you have to take into account there are also bars, VERY NOISEY ONES, the music from these bars went on until 2,3 AND 4am, and the music is played on volume 11, the hotel is so close to these bars you can actually hear the songs being played, not muffled noise thats carried on the wind, this is the only problem with this hotel, every other aspect of it is A1, Would i stay hear again......... despite the noise, YES I WOULD, i had a great time there.

Room Tip: we where in room 202, the room had a stunning view of the carribean ocean, if you get this room, i s...

We felt like we were being greeted by family when we arrived, the staff remembered our names and was expecting us. The room was wonderful, overshadowed only by the magnificent view. Three different times we swam with turtles in the cove right in front of the hotel! Because we have visited Barbados multiple times, the management even got us and some other guests invited to a special event at the Prime Minister's house during our visit. We booked for next New Years before we checked-out, and I think the couple that came with us will be returning as well. Love the Yellow Bird!

Room Tip: The rooms on lower floors are quieter at night when the local restaurants and clubs can be noisy.

My cousin and I stayed at the Yellow Bird Hotel from the 7th-11th Nov, we had a blast.
The staff was very accommodating and kind. The location of the hotel is just across from the beach which was so relaxing, going to bed and waking up to the pounding surf was fabulous, the view from our room was great. We got lovely pictures.
The Pool and restaurant was exceptional. (Yummy food).
The ambiance of the hotel is that of warmth and joy. The staff educated us on the island tours and booked everything for us.
The location again is on the GAP, which is walking distance from beautiful beaches& restaurants.
Could not ask for a better hotel and location.
I will stay there again in the future.
Love always, Nina :)

Room Tip: Get the top floor, view is great :)

Just returned from a week in Barbados staying at the Yellow Bird Hotel. Rooms are a little basic and tired but very clean and the staff are so friendly and welcoming. We had a great view of the ocean and all the bars and restaurants in the Gap are just a few minutes walk away.
