“Good Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2012

The hotel has 20 bedrooms all with balconies overlooking the bay.
Rooms are large with a small kitchen.
Rooms could do with a refurb .
View from the balcony is great.
The road infront of the hotel is quite.
Very convenient for bars and restauarants.
Cafe Sol next door a Mexican restaurant with a good atmosphere.

Easy acces for buses and taxis to Bridgetown 100 yards around the corner.
White minibuses a lot more frequent

Found all the staff reception , housekeeping and bar very helpful and friendly.

If you are a light sleeper you might need to use earplugs.
The Reggae bar nearby goes onto 4 am in the morning.

Reception can arrange golf at Barbados golf club 10 minutes away

All in all a very good location and would stay again..

In a good position for bars and restaurants. Hotel kept spotlessly clean with maid service every day, they even changed the sheets every day! Never had that before. Staff were very helpful and extremely friendly. Dale kept pool and garden areas in exceptional order and made sure everything was maintained within the rooms as well, he was great.

We were not sure if it was just the time of year but we didn't find it to be at all noisy, yes there was some music late at night, but not loud enough to be annoying. (If you can put up with the frogs, you can put up with anything!).

The pool wasn't huge, but then it's a small hotel, so we found that we were very often the only two people in it! Great after a day touring the beautiful island. Take a day trip around the island if you can, it's well worth it to see all the other beaches. Go for a drink in the one and only bar right at the North tip of the island. Leave your calling card among all the other thousands on the walls and ceiling!

The local buses (minibus) were brilliant, cost 2BBD each and you can more or less get on and off anywhere you want. They were continual so we never waited more than a minute to get to Bridgetown or back again.

Bridgetown is fantastic for duty free shopping (don't forget to take your passport) for some great bargains. Eat at the Waterside restaurant by the harbour, the food is lovely, especially the fish dishes.

The small supermarket just round the corner from the Yellow Bird is quite expensive so best to walk a bit further to the larger supermarket (turn left at the main road) for all the essentials.

We stayed in Room 103 on the ground floor, just 3 steps down to the garden area and pool, it was brilliant, and the view was amazing. All in all, a fantastic holiday. Thank you to all staff at Yellow Bird. We will be recommending it to friends and family and hope to be back one day in the future.

Jayne and George

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms excellent for pool access, easy to nip in and out of room, bearing in mind there...

We had our second stay at the Yellow Bird in August, and it was still as friendly, clean just like staying in a family home and not a Hotel. Would recomend it to anyone, the area around the hotel was centrol and easy to get buses into Bridgetown, etc. There are plenfty of good restruants and Bars for all types of budgets, beaches on the door step, but the pool was lovely and well maintained if you just want to chill out. The hotel has towels for the beach and pool, which saves on baggage allowance, and the kitchens are well supplied. The rooms are big and fully airconned if you needed it.

We were unsure wether to book to stay at the yellow bird originally because others had complained about the noise previously. We were on the top floor on the end closest to Cafe Sol next door and we had no trouble with noise at all. The only way i'd imagine you would is if you slept with the balcony doors open.
It's a lovely hotel with very friendly helpful staff. The restaurant, Opa, was excellent too, as was the pool.
We weren't keen on the gap, but with it being right at the start of the gap, there is plenty of places to go in the opposite direction.
We'd recommend the yellow bird to anyone after staying there for 10 nights without one single problem.

My friends and I stayed at the yellow bird all last week for the first time.
We had stayed at the Gap before but thought we'd try out a new hotel this time. The Yellow Bird is really lovely to stay at. The rooms were clean and the kitchen well stocked with all you needed to cook you meal (apart from the food) we brought a bit of food from home but also went to some close by stores for bead, eggs and milk etc... Try Trimart down the road it's the closest one that isn't too over priced. All other meals we went out to as there are so many restaurants around the hotel. The hotel is right by the clubs too so if you fancy taking a very short walk around the corner there is plenty to do in the evenings. We enjoyed this very much as everyone in Barbados seems to be very friendly. More so are the management of the hotel - they were always there to help us out and answer the 100 questions we had everyday. The pool is also very nice and clean which gives you a break from the beach if you fancy something else on your stay. The views from the balcony at night and early mornings are amazing. Do try other beaches around too (Dover, Accra, Miami and sandy lane. some busy and some more quiet) I think this hotel would be good for any kind of holiday you were after as it cater to everyone's needs. As I went for a girls holiday it was great but also great if you wanted to go for a couples or family holiday so don't hesitate to book if you are looking for somewhere clean, friendly, good value for money and safe.

Thank you very much for our wonderful stay Yellow Bird - we will be back for sure and hope you dont mind taking care of us again.

I have returned from the most memorable holiday I have ever had in my entire life. First time in Barbados and I felt like I have been there all my life. The staff are the best asset of the hotel. Audrey the assistant manager was always warm, friendly and helpful. Monique who works reception always has a warm jolly smile. Nothing is never too much for her to assist with. Over all, each staff member is unique and helpful but these two ladies made my stay memorable. The location of Yellow Bird is ideal for the beaches, night life and ease of access to many restaurants and transportation. The rooms are very spacious and immaculately clean. The view from my balcony was to die for. All in all, its simple, I WILL BE BACK!!!!!!

My boyfriend and I stayed there for 5 days and it was a lovely place! We were only looking for something cheaper as we were spending most of our money on scuba diving. The room price included breakfast and the view from our room and restaurant was just so pretty. It was about a 5 min walk to dover beach which is just lovely.

The Greek restaurant Opa they had was just amazing!! And the Mexican place next door was even better. It is a very busy restaurant and can be loud depending where your hotel room was. Ours was rather close but just turn on the Aircon and you can't here it :) the girls down in the reception and kitchen were just so lovely and helped us with everything we needed including our last minute booking for a sunset snorkeling! We kept out hire car out the back too which was handy!

Very cozy and safe hotel in a perfect location for the night life! Can't wait to go back! Best place in the Caribbean! The people really want to show you their paradise!!

Room Tip: The Internet wireless signal is hard to pick up sometimes depending where your room is. But we were...
