“Warrants a return visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2012

We stayed for one night en route to the South of France via Switzerland and Italy. Molsheim is very pretty and we thought the hotel was great. We'd love to return for a longer visit in order to more fully enjoy the facilities and to explore Strasbourg and the surrounding area.
The hotel's public areas were attractive and the gardens were colourful and well kept with some interesting sculptures. Bedrooms were spacious, clean and comfortable with a good sized balcony. Electric shutters instead of curtains was a new experience for us!
Dinner was superb. There was good choice at breakfast but it was a bit of a squeeze to get to the juices table if there was someone at the buffet.
The hotel gets full marks for service. I'd like to thank the gentleman (duty manager?) who persuaded my mum to see a dentist on hearing that she'd broken a tooth on crusty bread at dinner. He drove her to the surgery and spoke to the dentist for us. Mum was given a temporary crown at a very reasonable cost. A missing tooth would certainly have spoiled mum's holiday!

Dear Guests,

Thank you very much for your nice review on Tripadvisor.

It was a real pleasure to read that you enjoyed all the facilities of the hotel and especially the Electric Shutters!

You meet Thomas, our General Manager.
For sure your mum was suffering from her broken tooth so it was completely normal for us to help. Our best reward is to hear that we helped a little to give her a good holidays!

Thank you once again for your great comment and we hope to welcome you soon!

Warm regards,

This is a clean modern hotel with great room service and an indoor pool. We don't normally order room service but as we arrived at 9:30pm to be told the restaurant was closed and that we could try a local bar we were a bit none plussed by the whole place. However when we got to our room we discovered room service closed at 10. So once ordered we sat down to a very decent meal. Shame the receptionist didn't know this and suggest it when we checked in!
But all in all a gem of a hotel just off the motor way, easy to find and in a present area.

Dear Guest,

Thank you very much for sharing your impression on Tripadvisor. The restaurant is open from 7pm and the last order is at 9.15pm. However, the lounge & the room-service closed at 10pm. We truly regret that our receptionist did not inform you about the opening and closing time of our food and beverage outlets. We assure you that we have taken the necessary steps to ensure this type of event will not happen again.
Nevertheless we are very pleased to read all the positive comments you mentioned, especially regarding the heated indoor swimming pool in the Spa and the location of the hotel.
Thank you once again for your great comment and we hope to see you soon in our hotel!

Warm regards,

Elodie Albenque

Super hotel in a beautiful town. Clean hotel and very good food indeed, although food not really excellent by some French standards. Good wine list and menu. Lovely room, quiet and efficient air conditioner and friendly, helpful staff.
I stayed at this hotel at the end of June 2012 with a group of friends doing a motorcycle tour of the region. Breakfasts were very good and price very reasonable.
Molsheim is a beautiful town well worth a look around.
Hotel has a nice looking spa, sauna and pool although I did not use it.
I would certainly stay at this hotel again!
Ample parking available.

Excellent location for a stay in Alsace region.
Nice hotel, good spa, average size rooms, all clean and well maintained.
Staff friendly, helpful, responsive, multilingual !
Good breakfast buffet, standard choices of meats and cheeses, jam, dairy products, several types of bread.
Ample parking space on premise.
Restaurant well above average. Good choice of local and international (French) cuisine. Excellent wine list, not too pricey. If only they would serve the mustard (no ‘choucroute’ can go without) in a more elegant way.
Hotel bar could be better. Good choice of wines and spirits, however, poor on local beers. For foodies : the bar offers a view into the kitchen !

I have spent several overnight stay's in the Diana Hotel and always I find the atmosphere relaxing. The spa is perfect and gives just that little bit more on your stay as the average hotels of the International groups. The restaurant is nice and the food quality is okay, but expensive.

I spent a night at the hotel. There is free parking space in front of the hotel. The staff was very kind and helped with all request. I got a apparment in the ground floor, maybe the 'normal' rooms were sold out. The apartment was quite spacious with an enormous Flat-TV at the wall. There is a small kitchen within the room, too. Actually the fridge made such a noise that I had to switch it off via the fuse, but no problem to find.
The breakfast is great with a large assortment of bread and everything you would expect.
I think for a 3 star hotel very good.

We usually stay at the Diana for one night on our way back home from Italy. This is the fourth time we have stayed there. It is a lovely hotel..The standard of accomodation is excellent. ..and belies its 3 star status, It is ultra modern, exceptionally clean and the room service for weary travellers is very welcome and reasonably priced.
We enjoyed some very good soup, steak tartare (which was well cooked for us!)with hand cut chips and a trio of deserts which wouldnt have been out of place in a top class restaurant.
Moelsheim itself is a picturesque town; more Germanic than French..in fact very like Hamelin(of 'Pied Piper fame!..) However it it difficult to find a resaurant open before 7pm and choices within the town are limited to pizza and couscous establishments.Lots are closed in August as the French take their annual vacations.
The Diana has an excellent in-house restaurant, and Spa.Access to WiFi in your room is priced at 3euros 50c for the length of your stay. I recommend the hotel to all in transit across France..although a longer stay in Moelsheim may prove a little too quiet for most.

Room Tip: Check the website for special deals and info re. the other Diana hotels in France.

Dear Guest,
Thank you very much for your comment on our Tripadvisor page, we are very pleased that you enjoyed your trip here at the Hôtel Diana.
It’s true that Molsheim is a picturesque town in Alsace! On top of that, the village is surrounded by lovely vineyards and if you go to the highest point of Molsheim, you can even see the Cathedral of Strasbourg when the weather is clear! You are right when you are saying that August is the time when French people take their Annual vacations....However it’s also the time when all the vineyard are open!! Most of the time you can visit it and taste some of their wines. For your next visit, let us know and we will give you all our tips!
Looking forward to welcoming you soon for your next trip in Alsace.

Warmest regards
