Coconut Court is a mellow, pleasant beachside hotel. It appeared that all rooms have a beach/water view with a porch to enjoy. Nice pool/jacuzzi area. Plenty of beach lounge chairs and, if you want shade, it is available. Nice sandy beach, but in the water it is a bit rocky. I recommend water shoes or sandals. Snorkeling gear is available.
Nice beach bar and another bar is part of the open air restaurant. Two drinks for price of one at happy hour. Check the times.
It is convenient and pleasant to eat breakfast at the restaurant, but our room had a refrigerator, microwave and coffee pot. A nearby "convenience store" had some supplies and more extensive supplies are probably available elsewhere. You could probably manage some in-room meals if you work at it.
Our room was not fancy but was large and pleasant; bathroom was adequate with a shower stall. A hairdryer is provided.
We were there on a Friday night (then went on a cruise) and returned the next week for Sat-Sun-Mon nights.
I disagree with the Hocking review as we experienced no problem with any noise or loud residents. Maybe there are specific weeks which should be avoided. We seemed to have a predominantly adult group at the hotel. Very few children, and almost no one seemed to be college age or twenty-something.
We had a lunch at Mama Mia's across the street and it was very good. The bar across the street (? Woodpecker, I think) apparently can be noisy on Friday nights, but quiet the rest of the time. We did dinner there on a Monday night with excellent food. The dining area is on the other side of the bar and was more sophisticated than I expected.
I don't think there are any other accommodations in this price range that offer such nice water views from every room and an extensive beach for relaxation in sun or shade.
Based on reviews read here, we did Ted's Tour and had a wonderful time. It was basically all day, including a nice lunch and very reasonably priced. It happens Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Just sign up at the desk.
We might have preferred to be walking distance to Oistins, the Gap or Bridgetown, but the buses come by regularly.
Coconut Court is a very pleasant place to stay. It is an older facility but most things have been upgraded. We had dinner at the hotel twice. Decent menu, but I think it was too limited for doing an all-inclusive plan for a week. (Personal preference.)
If you are trying to do Barbados at a fairly reasonable price, you would have a hard time finding a better deal than the Coconut Court. We expect to return.
