The Coconut Court Beach Resort was a very pleasant stay. The rooms are nothing special to write home about, but they were very clean and roomy with an amazing view of the beach! Its a perfect place to stay when traveling with friends, and great on a budget. The location made it ideal for going into Bridgetown or St Lawrence Gap. Plus the beach is an end beach, meaning there is less traffic on it. Its has great coconut trees to lay under when the sun gets to hot and the cutest little reef that is teeming with aquatic life. Great for first time snorkeling.
What impressed me the most was the WONDERFUL STAFF! The front desk people were always willing to share their knowledge of the island with us. Also they easily and efficently helped us plan our days. They were extremely helpful in finding us a cheap car to rent and called around to find the best deal. The hotel also provided great entertainment most evenings for those who dont want to venture out at night.

Nice hotel with a two star standard. Bed comfortable and view of ocean is wonderful. Our breakfast was included per our confirmed e-mail, but when I ask the front desk, they looked at me as though I spoke another language. SO, make sure if breakfast is included, you bring your confirmation in writing otherwise you are like us paying $30 USD for french toast for two. Sun beds do fill up by midmorning, but due to the number of palm trees you can find shade, just have to sit in the back row. Friday's across the street is very expensive but good. Pizza parlor across the street is also good. During our eight day stay, we never saw any fish other than clear white, so don't think I would recommend the hotel based on good snorkeling. Should I return, I would consider the west coast as the water was a bit to rough for our taste and no colorful fish to be had or other sea creatures for that matter.

“Perfect Holiday!!!”

Coconut Court Beach Resort

I've just spent the most wonderful week staying at Coconut Court. The hotel is well located for amenities and the beach itself is beautiful. We stayed in one of the newly refurbished beach front rooms which was very roomy, spotless and had a spectacular view of the ocean. There were no unruly guests, as suggested in a previous review, and the nearby renovation works did not intrude at all on the peaceful atmosphere of the resort. All meals that we had at CC were cooked to a very high standard and food & drink was very reasonably priced. I have to say that the staff at the hotel really made the holiday special. They were incredibly helpful, friendly and professional. They were also very child-friendly and I felt very safe with my young son there. I can't recommend it enough. We'll definately be returning.

“Pleasant experience”

Coconut Court Beach Resort

May 27, 2008

My girlfriends and I just got back a few days ago from Barbados..still very sad about that :( But one of the things that made our trip smooth and enjoyable was our stay at Coconut Court. We are not the type to be too picky about accomodations becuase we were out and about most of the time. So the rooms were about average. If you're not the picky type, this place is definitely for you! It is a great value. We didnt do all inclusive but we had breakfast included in our package. It was such a pleasure to sit and have a good breakfast while enjoying the fresh air and a great view of the water! The breakfast was very good with a good variety of things to eat. And the restaurant staff were very nice. But what really made the difference was the front desk staff. They were there ready and willing to help us with anything and everything we needed!! We really felt like we weren't just another number to be checked in and checked out. Any questions we had, they were there to answer and help us figure out. They even helped us find a local church to visit and provided service times and everything! We were really impressed! Good customer service and a friendly smile can really make a difference. PLUS, the view from our room was amazing!!!! Took our breath away every morning!

Another thing, the beach. It was very very spacious and not crowded with people. And when we got a little burned, there were more than enough beautiful palm trees to go around for shade. Plus, the reef in front was great for snorkeling with a bunch of colorful fish and even some sea urchins. And it also helped keep the waves to a minimum. It was definitely an ideal location for laying out and relaxing! And if you're not afraid of a little bit of walking, its only 2 miles away from Bridgetown. But the hotel also provides a free shuttle there.

All in all, i would definitely recommend Coconut Court! And when (not if) I go back to Barbados, i will stay there again!

“Great, reasonably priced hotel”

Coconut Court Beach Resort

Mar 30, 2008

Coconut Court is a mellow, pleasant beachside hotel. It appeared that all rooms have a beach/water view with a porch to enjoy. Nice pool/jacuzzi area. Plenty of beach lounge chairs and, if you want shade, it is available. Nice sandy beach, but in the water it is a bit rocky. I recommend water shoes or sandals. Snorkeling gear is available.
Nice beach bar and another bar is part of the open air restaurant. Two drinks for price of one at happy hour. Check the times.
It is convenient and pleasant to eat breakfast at the restaurant, but our room had a refrigerator, microwave and coffee pot. A nearby "convenience store" had some supplies and more extensive supplies are probably available elsewhere. You could probably manage some in-room meals if you work at it.
Our room was not fancy but was large and pleasant; bathroom was adequate with a shower stall. A hairdryer is provided.
We were there on a Friday night (then went on a cruise) and returned the next week for Sat-Sun-Mon nights.
I disagree with the Hocking review as we experienced no problem with any noise or loud residents. Maybe there are specific weeks which should be avoided. We seemed to have a predominantly adult group at the hotel. Very few children, and almost no one seemed to be college age or twenty-something.
We had a lunch at Mama Mia's across the street and it was very good. The bar across the street (? Woodpecker, I think) apparently can be noisy on Friday nights, but quiet the rest of the time. We did dinner there on a Monday night with excellent food. The dining area is on the other side of the bar and was more sophisticated than I expected.
I don't think there are any other accommodations in this price range that offer such nice water views from every room and an extensive beach for relaxation in sun or shade.
Based on reviews read here, we did Ted's Tour and had a wonderful time. It was basically all day, including a nice lunch and very reasonably priced. It happens Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Just sign up at the desk.
We might have preferred to be walking distance to Oistins, the Gap or Bridgetown, but the buses come by regularly.
Coconut Court is a very pleasant place to stay. It is an older facility but most things have been upgraded. We had dinner at the hotel twice. Decent menu, but I think it was too limited for doing an all-inclusive plan for a week. (Personal preference.)
If you are trying to do Barbados at a fairly reasonable price, you would have a hard time finding a better deal than the Coconut Court. We expect to return.
