“Good.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2013 via mobile

Stayed at the savannah for 10 days between the 28th of December and 7th of January. On the whole the hotel was very good, staff were extremely friendly and always eager to do everything they can for you. We booked the club room, was a little bit disappointing as the mini fridge was not always stocked when it should have been and the cold towels on the beach sometimes weren't given out. Food was fantastic and the hotel was very clean. The beach is not rocky as others have mentioned,it's coral and also it's more sandy on the right hand side of it. Entertainment was very good, and would highly recommend Oistings on a Friday late evening, the atmospheres amazing. Would also highly recommend the silver moon catamaran, swam with turtles and it was fantastic!
Had a very enjoyable stay at this hotel but its definitely a 3 star not 4 and wouldn't recommend the club room package.

Just returned from a one week break to Savannah Beach Hotel and let me say we had a fabulous time.
The Bajan people as they are called were extremely friendly especially all the staff at the hotel, nothing was too much trouble.
The hotel as a relaxed British and is ideally located next to the historic garrison savannah and in very close proximity to all the island night life and main shopping areas.
The food was very good and the service was equally as good.
Thank all and we certainly looking forward to our next stay at the Savannah Beach .

This was our first trip to Barbados and the whole holiday was beyond our expectations. The hotel was clean and comfortable and the staff attentive and friendly. Whilst parts of the hotel are a little tired it is worth remembering that this is a 3.5 star resort (not 5*) and the food was lovely with plenty of choice. The beach immediately behind the hotel is a little rocky and not ideal for swimming but a very short walk to the left or right brings you to perfect beaches. There is also the free shuttle bus service to Copa Cabanna which has a gorgeous beach.
I would recommend the jeep safari as a great way to see the island - its worth it for the entertaining dialogue from the drivers. Also, the race course is only across the road and worth a visit if the races are on - it only cost us $10BD.
Overall, this was excellent value for money holiday and i can't wit to goo back.

We have been to Barbados many times and we were apprehensive of what to expect when we arrived at the Savannah Beach on 26 November 2012 this was soon laid to rest very quickly. The staff were very friendly nothing was too much trouble the service was excellent. Variety of food in the restaurants were good. Loved the party, barbecue and games for Independence Day. Shame I didn't win the hoola-hoop competition. However us 'November Girls' won the trivia competition. Thank you for the fabulous time and accommodating our friends who came to visit us. We can't wait to return and look forward to meeting you all again.

Have just returned today from a week at the savannah, rooms 355/355. Read all reviews and can honestly say that there are positive and negatives. Found the staff on the whole very friendly but there where some in Rachel's that could be very off at times.
Sharon was absolutely lovely and always smiled. Also Antony was great he always made my son feel special. Linda was always so accommodating.
Tracia was excellent in organising a night for my family after a bad experience. She is a credit to your staff!
There are some issues with the beach but I do believe that's being addressed.
All in all a very enjoyable week. Having been to Barbados 4 times I do feel that the all inclusive is hitting the rest of the market hard with regards to people eating and drinking out.
Thanks to you all!

We stayed at the Savannah from 16th to 28th December and thoroughly enjoyed it! The hotel staff are nice, the food is good, especially the a la carte in Rachel's. breakfast was great, and afternoon tea served in drifters each day at 4pm is a lovely time to sit and watch the sun go down with a glass of wine or a cocktail. The beach is small but no a problem at all as stretches for miles either side of the Savannah. You can walk along the boardwalk, we stopped off for lovely cocktails at Tapas bar. There is quite a lot o see in Barbados and I can recommend the following:-
Limegrove cinema which is a short bus ride is fab, on a Monday and Tuesday evening its 15 dollars (£5) and there are beds and huge armchairs with leg rests. You get served food and drinks through the film, it's so posh......we saw Skyfall! Go to Holetown and Speights town, you'll see how the other half live as this is where Sandy Lane etc is. The island jeep safari is amazing, you get to see the whole island and do some fun off reading too, along with a lovely lunch at a hotel included.

In summary it's a great hotel for value for money, rooms are large, beds are massive and very comfy, bathrooms are clean but need updating very soon! Food and drinks are fine, beach bar is very cosy and quite good entertainment....but everyone goes to bed here by 11pm! The only thing to report on not such a good note was that quite a lot of children got ear infections from the pool. The main pool area by drifters bar kept going green and murky and it was closed a lot. They would seem to add chemicals and filter it, but it would return to murky again within a couple of days. You need to sort this savannah staff.......it lets the hotel down and costs people a lot in doctors bills!!

All in all, I'd recommend this as a couples, single person or family hotel and encourage you to go and have a great time.

One last tip.....the weather wasn't that good in December, apparently it's much better from when the cricket season starts, which is mid Jan. but be warned, you'll still burn through the clouds!!!

Room Tip: No need to pay extra for a pool access room.
