Well I am still a little bleary eyed from the flight at silly o clock home, but thought I would write the review whilst it was all still fresh!
I went to Pefki Islands for a week with 2 friends. We had a 2 bedroom apartment which was lovely and clean on our arrival with all the essentials on hand, even a bottle of cold water in the fridge!bottle opener, tin opener, pots and pans etc etc all there. The bedrooms were a lot bigger than I had anticipated which was a lovely suprise. However there is a lack of "living space" which was fine for us but could be a problem for families. The only other room was the kitchen and then the balcony/veranda outside. The TV was in the main bedroom. Both of our rooms were ensuite, which was very handy with 3 ladies trying to get ready for a night out!! Towels, bedding etc changed daily except for Sunday. The air con was 65 euros per unit for the week. If you have a 2 bed apartment like us then there are 2 units...one in each bedroom. We managed with just paying for the one in the main bedroom and leaving the doors open and this worked well for us... and saved us 65 euros!
Reception staff were all really really friendly and would help out with any problems. Our Rep was Saul and he was friendly and full of good advice on where to visit, how to get there and was available most days if he was needed. He had a timetable on the wall upstairs so you always knew when he was due in. We were also given a 24 hour helpline number in case he was not available.
The super market at LInidia Thalassa was fab.. Don't bother packing tea, coffee etc as it was all there...English brands that we all know and love. Including marmite and Nutella!! Also there is a reasonable selection of toiletries, so don't panic if you forget shampoo etc.
My favourite restaurant was Enigma, the food here was the best we had all week, so went twice! However we also ate at Nostalgia, Hellas Gardens, Coliseum and the new Elia restaurant just near the hotel. I didn't have a bad meal all week. As Elia is new I guess we need to be patient. They ran out of deserts the night we went!! They did also do a Sunday Roast which was a new gimmick they were trialing. I didn't have that, but others in that night did and it looked nice. Most places seemed to have a kids menu or could do half portions. Also a good mix of traditional Greek and more familiar meals were available everywhere.
My favourite trip was one we organised prior to going which was a 4x4 safari of the Island. We found it online by searching for things to do in Rhodes. Our driver Ray is an Ex Pat and knew loads about the ISland as well as Greek traditions and Culture. We visited some lovely areas that unless you hire a car may be tricky to get to.
Overall I had a great week, and it just wasn't long enough for me! I could easily have filled another week!
Pack your suncream as it was pretty warm all week, reaching anywhere up to 37 degrees! AlsoI will warm of small insects that like to nibble, I was only bitten 3 or 4 times, however my friend was clearly very tasty and got some nasty bites indeed. She wore insect repellant every day so whether they are immune I don't know. The only thing I did different to her was taking antihistamine every day for my hayfever.. We read in a magazine whilst we were there that to avoid getting bitten and reacting badly take antihistamine for a week before travelling. This may be why I was not affected so badly as I take it every day during the summer!

I would reccomend Pefki Islands as Pefkos is a busy resort with lots to do and good transport links!
Have a great holiday!

We flew to Rhodes from EMA on 9th May for a seven night stay.

What more can I say than this is the best apartments we've ever stayed in, in Greece. We visited Rhodes with my cousin and her husband who had stayed at Pefki Islands Resort previously. They'd told us how lovely it was but didn't want us to over expect anything but it was much higher than our expectations.

Pefkos its self would be suitable for a mixture of age ranges with lots of nightlife as well as family restaraunts and relaxing bars.

Enigma is a fabulous restaurant and we ate there twice, one of the times sitting on the small balcony which was very private felt like our own exclusive dinning area.

We will definitely visit Pefki Islands again and would like to especially mention Katerina and thank her for all her help finding my boyfriend a local gym to use.

We are literally just back from a week-long stay at Pefki Island resort and felt compelled to sing the hotels virtues on here. Quite simply, this hotel is everything you could possibly want from a beachside resort and then some.
Located in the ‘I’ block of the hotel, our studio apartment was 30ft from the supermarket which stocked all the essentials for us Brits (Netcafe, Teltley, Kingsmill, Clover, Hob-nobs were just some of the items we stocked up with on day one!) which is open until 11:30pm. Just a further 30ft from the supermarket is the gorgeous beach which a plethora of sun loungers (costing €4 per person, per day), perfectly clean sands and stunning crystal clear seas. We spent a number of days lounging by the sea, listening to the waves crash and in the tranquil resort of Pefkos you’ll have little other background noise to disturb you. Simply put this is a perfect location for a relaxing week in guaranteed sunshine.
When we stepped off the plan at 4am it was still 25 degrees Celsius, so we knew we were in for some stunning weather. The first two days the temperature hit 35c and hovered above 30 throughout so we were more than happy to soak up the sun and simply relax. The hotel has two main pools (although there are a further two large pools in the sister hotel located adjacent to the supermarket) – each of which has a large selection of free-to-use sun loungers as well.
Our room was surprisingly spacious, with plenty of floor-space, a good size bathroom (with toilet, shower and sink basin) and a balcony. The room had air conditioning but we were charged €65 for the remote control to access the device which was quite pricey. However, given the temperature out there this was an essential cost and worked well cooling the room throughout our stay.
A five-minute walk from the hotel is the main Pefkos ‘strip’. A single road laden with fantastic restaurants, welcoming bars and gift shops. In our seven nights we ate at seven amazing restaurants: Nostalgia, Enigma, Nikki’s (in Rhodes Old Town), Coliseum, Lindos Cuisine, Hellars Taverna and George’s. Every one was fantastic, serving a wide range of traditional greek dishes or simpler steaks, chips, childrens meals and much much more. Along with the amazing food (honestly, the food in Pefkos is to die for – the quality of the food is so much higher than served back home in the UK its almost criminal!) we were given a welcoming smile and excellent service. I think you could eat out at a different restaurant every night for a month and not run out of choice. Another noteworth location is the Crepe bar located right next to the ‘I’ block of the hotel, serving stunning crepes and a fine selection of drinks.
On the second day of our stay a brand new, eye-catching restaurant opened on the hotel boundaries so guests now have another amazing restaurant/bar (called Elia Restaurant) to eat and relax without having to even leave the hotel grounds! The road signs are in English, the menu’s are in English and every local we spoke to also spoke fluent English. This really is home from home – think Benidorm without the trash or the larger-lout brits! ;)
Our room was spotless when we arrived and was cleaned DAILY. Despite what reviews have stated our towels were also changed on a daily basis so we always had clean sheets and towels.
On the day of departure we paid €35 to keep the room until 6PM. Normal checkout time is mid-day.
Reception staff (especially Katerina) are wonderfully helpful (they took the time to explain all the greek dishes for us, arranged taxis and generally did all they could to compliment our stay) and the grounds are beautifully kept.
Pefkos is such a relaxed place – the roads are wonderfully quiet at all times of day and night and there is a lovely family atmosphere to savour and enjoy. We did venture into Lindos on one day to visit the shops and the Acropolis (entry = €6) which was a good day out and fantastic photo opportunity. A taxi to Lindos cost us €10 but the local bus service will also take you there for €1.50 if you can tolerate their unpredictable scheduling!
We arranged an excursion into Rhodes via the hotel rep which saw us take the hour long coach trip to the outskirts of Rhodes old town, followed by a walking tour of this magnificent historical city. It really is quite uniqie and well worth the visit. There is an upbeat buzz and very tourist focused selection of shops, cafe’s, bars and restaurants here that we enjoyed immensely. The harbour is stunning and the New Town was also very impressive.

We went to Rhodes – our first ever trip to Greece – with the intention of soaking up the sun and relaxing. We managed that with considerable ease and would not hesitate to recommend Rhodes, Pefkos and Pefki Island resort in a heartbeat. We’re simply counting the days until we can go back and do it all again!!

Just got back from Pefki Islands - a party of us went to Pefkos for my daughter's wedding. The wedding was at St Pauls in Lindos - it was amazing and made the trip very special. Some of our party stayed in Pefki Islands and some in other Pefkos hotels.

Pros - Pefki Islands is a lovely hotel, large rooms exceptionally clean and well cared for with three pools and friendly bars. Reception staff extremely friendly and helpful, maid service really good with regular linen and towel changes, shop handy. The hotel looked after the bride and groom really well with some lovely surprise treats (won't say what so as not to spoil the surprise for others getting married).
Pefkos is quite a laid back resort focussing on families and couples, with restaurants and low key bars, many with really well equipped playgrounds. We found all restaurants we visited to be much of a muchness - our large party had some good and some not so good meals in most of them and prices only varied slightly. Enigma in particular struggled to cope with our large party, with longs waits for some meals, wrong orders, poor owner response etc.
Beaches small but sandy and clean, I imagine they may get a bit cramped in the height of the season/school hols.

Cons - the current poor Euro/Pound situation makes the shops a bit pricey, particularly for families who may have to self cater some of the time. Provisions are a bit limited in Pefkos and expect to pay almost double home prices for food and things like nappies, t shirts etc. There is a larger, better stocked, supermarket in Lardos but, unless you are hiring a car anyway, the bus/taxi trip probably isn't worth it.
Pefki Islands air conditoning is extortionate at £10 per day - thankfully, being early in the season, we managed without it, except for the wedding day when we were all getting ready. Microwaves were 47 euros for the two weeks, but which some of our party at cheaper hotels had as standard. I would have thought a family orientated hotel like this, and not a cheap one either, would provide these inexpensive but useful appliances without charge as well - shame on you!!

If you are looking for lively nightlife Pefkos is probably not the place for you. If you have children or are looking to chill out, then you'll probably love it.

Check the price taxis are going to charge before you get in the car, prices should be fixed for the surrounding area but some of our unsuspecting party were ripped off. Reception and tour reps should be able to advise you what the rate should be for your journey.

Lindos is particularly beautiful and, for those who like them, has some livelier bars at night. Taxis from Pefkos are around 7 euros from the taxi rank, but more if reception ring for them and they come to the hotel to pick you up. Bus to Lindos and Lardos is 1.50, quite restricted timetable when we were there, don't know if the frequency/last bus change in peak season.

Lardos is part residential and part tourist and not as pretty as Pefkos and Lindos.

We got a reasonable and all inclusive (insurance) car hire deal with Marathon on the main strip. They have several branches in the surrounding area. Car hire from our tour operator (Europcar) was three times what we paid and folks looking to hire were stunned by the quotes. Despite several protests the hirer wouldn't budge and so lost the business altogether!

Rhodes town is very beautiful both by day and night and well worth a visit.

Be aware that the Symi/Panormitis boat trip is on a large packed ferry and not a pleasure boat. Be prepared to play sardines on quite uncomfy chairs! That said, Symi and Panormitis are both lovely places to visit.

The mozzies were biting big time. Our party used all makes and kinds of repellant and nearly everyone got bitten, some quite severely. Even preparations from the local chemist didn't keep em away. Seems the little blighters are getting resistant to repellant so I don't know what to suggest other than to particularly make sure your tiny tots are well protected.

This is a candid and honest report - hope the comments help.

Myself, my wife and 4 year old daughter have just got back from an amazing 2 week holiday at the Peki Island Resort. This place is fantastic!. We booked a 2 bedroom apartment and it was huge, each bedroom had it's own bathroom which my daughter loved and made her feel very grown up!. The rooms are also very clean. They are cleaned daily and towels and linen are changed twice weekly. Both pools here are very big and there are numerous sun longers to accommodate everybody. The pool bars server a variety of drinks and snacks and they both have swim up bars, perfect for a beer in the mid afternoon sun. The staff are also very nice, they make you feel very welcome and make sure you have all that you need. Thanks again for the great room Katerina!!. The sister hotel down the road, the Lindia Thalassa has a childrens club which can be used by kids from both hotels. My daughter really wanted to go as this is the first year she has been able to (kids club is 4+). It is twice daily between 10.30 and 12.30 and 5.00 and 7.00 and she loved it, special mention from my daughter to Silly Millie and Princess Kirstie who ran the kids club but especially Princess Kirstie, I think she is a friend for life for my little one!. Out and about there are loads of bars in restaurants in Pefkos, approximately 5 minute walk from the hotel and each serving a good variation of food. Most of the bars have outdoor childrens play areas so you can sit down and have a drink and the kids can play to their hearts content, our favourite was Angel bar, fantastic place with a play area, the owners were lovely people and were always happy to chat to you and they even give out biscuits and sweets to the children which was always a hit!!!. A few of the restaurants offer 3 course meals for 9 Euros which may seem a bit cheap to be true and you could be forgiven that the food would not be that great but it was very nice and they are well worth a visit!. Another mention goes to the Enigma restaurant, great food and atmosphere and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The best restaurant we went to was called Philosophia and it overlooks Pefkos beach, this place was amazing, food was beautiful and the 2 owners were very friendly and chatty and made you feel at home. Bit more expensive than the other restaurants we went to but well worth it!!. Overall, Pefkos is a very nice place to holiday, lots of bars, restaurants and shops, beach within walking distance and Lindos approximately 10 minutes in the car. What more can I say about the Pefki island Resort?!, absolutely brilliant, definitely going back and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to friends and family. Best holiday I've ever had!!
