“Excellent. We were apprehensive in the financial crisis but our worries were unfounded.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2012

This was an excellent hotel that we much enjoyed. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The suite was spaceous with two bathrooms and very large well appointed rooms with a large balcony with views of the pool area with the sea as a backdrop. The restaurant had a good varied menu including greek food and was moderately priced. The service was again excellent. The sea is only a short walk away. We found a marvellous restaurent near by, Philosophia, with great views if one needed a change. Lindos is easliy reached by bus, taxi or boat. We were apprehensive about coming to Greece in the financial crisis but our worries were unfounded.

We have just returned from a week at the Island Blue Hotel B&B and had a lovely stay. The room was lovely, really spacious modern and clean, Our room had a small kitchen area and another spare room with ensuite bathroom. The Balcony had plenty of room and looked out over the lovely pool. The hotel is a few minutes walk from the main area of Pefkos but we quite liked the walk in to the village, There is everything you need onsite at the Island Blue, a small shop selling everything you night need, pool area, a restaurant and a few pool bars. I would definately stay here aagin and would reccommend anyone to come and stay here as it is a really nice place to stay, There were only a couple of small things we didnt really like - we booked a double room but we had two single beds pushed together which was quite uncomfortable and we really didnt like the breakfast it seemed a little unorganised and the food I felt wasnt very good, it was not a problem to us really as Pefkos has a lovely village bakery so we went there most mornings for our breakfast and if you like a full engish there are plenty of places in the village to choose from. All in all though a really nice place to stay and we would definately go back.

My wife and I stayed here in June 2010, just after it opened and were so impressed. The room, on top floor, was luxury standard, there was a lovely large balcony and superb ultra modern bathroom (with shower screen) The food in the restaurant and for breakfast was top quality and the staff, especially the chap in the pool-bar, were efficient, friendly and very attentive. We were really spoilt rotten!

Room Tip: We stayed on top floor.

We stayed for 11 nights from 12th May 2012. I can only endorse what has been said before. This is a clean, contemporary, modern hotel with superb facilities. Our room together with large balcony was the biggest we have had in any hotel anywhere. Huge bathroom with walk in shower. Good also to see nice touches like a kettle and full size fridge. There is a TV in the room but choice of channels is very limited (poor) in our opinion so bear this in mind if that is part of your holiday enjoyment - it didn't worry us. Overall the room quality made for a lovely relaxing stay. Stayed Bed & Breakfast basis. Breakfast was good with plently of choice. I would echo some previous comments in that the cooked option was sometimes a little tepid, but not always - it seemed to be a matter of 'timing'. Dined in the Elia restaurant once and the food was very good. However we preferered the atmosphere of the local tavernas. Restaurant choice and quality in Pefkos is very good - our favourites were Flavia's in the main street and Nikolas Taverna just up the hill away from the main strip - lovely food and super views across the bay.
Lovely pool areas with plenty of sunbeds. As only May there were always loads free at any time of day. Staff in all areas of the hotel were always very friendly and did seem incredibly hard working.
Pefkos is a pleasant low rise tourist resort and in May was relatively quiet. Beaches are very nice but quite narrow and even at this time of year with not many about we noticed the beach beds and parasols were soon all taken - must be hard to get anything at all in peak season without rising at the crack of dawn!!
We were happy to stay around Pefkos mostly but did take a taxi to Lindos (€8 fixed price one way) as Thomson rep said buses get very busy, and booked a day trip to Rhodes town via a local agency (€16 euros pp). Both places very well worth a visit.
Overall a great holiday in a fabulous hotel and would love to come back

Room Tip: All rooms looked to be OK with similar outlooks.

Had two weeks here and what a place, you will not be disappointed so dont thomas cook it because you cant as its a platinum Thomson resort. We were there between 5th may to the 19th and had a wonderful time. The staff look after all your needs and all areas are spotless. The food is of high quality by a top chef and reasonably priced and the bar staff do a excellent job aswell. We will return in june next year for another superb holiday.... Steve and Sue Millar.. J243.

Room Tip: Tell them your needs and im sure if possible they will accomodate you. Ours was fantastic..

We went on an inclusive deal with Thomson's and had an amazing time, this was our first holiday abroad together so we were slightly nervous but really had nothing to be concerned about, the hotel was fairly quiet (early-mid May) which is a good thing in my books, had the pool to myself most of the time and plenty of sunbeds to choose from. As most people have already commented the cleanliness is superb, I mean the place was spotless throughout and the staff not only do a great job but seem genuinly cheerful doing it, also they are helpful from top to bottom and we always felt comfortable. Didn't really venture to the other pools but had no reason to want to, used the supermarket a couple of times which was well stocked and prices seemed reasonable.

The rooms are very good and spacious, walking around Pefkos we didn't come across anything that really compared and indeed, even the big 5* hotels on the way to the airport had smaller balconies, another highlight for us was bathroom, huge shower room and a better shower than we have at home! Obviously a godsend in a warmer climate when you are in sea/pool and on the beach a lot. I expected a few more TV channels perhaps but seems hardly worth mentioning as I took a couple of decent books. The aircon was free for us though I'm not sure if that is standard or to do with our booking, we didn't bother with a safetly deposit box as the 24hr reception hold your passports, the prepaid card we took we kept with us and an emergency credit card we kept in the room, both we could cancel and just hoped we wouldn't be unfortunate enough to get mugged and room stolen from at the same time!!

The breakfast was nice enough, not as warm as we've have liked but the selection was more than we were expecting, certainly plenty there to keep most people happy and the setting is great, really sets you up for the day sitting by the pool with the blue skies. We dined at Elia in the evening once which was ok, unfortunately there was a wedding going on upstairs and the speeches/music from that clashed with the restaurant music and kind of spoiled the mood/setting, some people can block it out (i.e. my missus) but unfortunately it did my head in, the restaurant music should have just been turned off in reflection. Anyway, we didn't attend the greek night but it certainly seemed a good bash and the people we spoke to the next day had good things to say.

Just thinking what there is to say about Pefkos, the actual sand part of the beach isn't the best but it does the job, the sea though is nice and calm and lovely for a swim, also there is something about the view to the rocks on the left that just had me staring for ages, really nice. Loads (and loads) of nice places to eat although the menu's are pretty much the same in 90% of them, but I suppose if you don't like Greek food why come here?! Some really nice looking buildings and settings as well, compared to some places we saw Pefkos is one of the more popular and well maintained resorts.

So, all in all excellent!! Would definately return.

Room Tip: Stayed in room 343 which was perfect for us, slightly to the side of the pool overlooking the small...

Just had a week in island blue and the best way to sum it up is wow!!

We arrived at the hotel late at night and were taken to our room on a golf buggy. We opened the door and instantly were so please we had booked. The room is very spacious with a fridge with a bottle of water chilled and waiting for us. The view from the room was amazing full length glazed doors looking out to the mountains and amazing pool.

The room was exceptionally clean and had air con which we were not Charged for. the beds were a little hard but that was minor issue as the room was lovely.

Breakfast was also very good. 3 out of 7 mornings we had black pudding, hash browns and English style sausages but on the other 4 I was very happy with the cook breakfast offered as well as the cold bits.

Staff were very friendly without making you feel they were hunting for tips. We ate in the restaurant twice and both times food was exceptional and I am usual a big critic when eating out. We paid the 38 euro to say in our room and I have to say due to the quality of the place I did not mind doing so at all.

This is the best European holiday I have had and it was all because of island blue.

I am not one for returning to places but I think this time I will break the rule.
