a group of 5 of us stayed at Gecko this summer and had a great experience. we turned up quite late as we had travelled from mchinji on a broken bus with 2 road accidents! great fun!
we were welcomed by Simon the manager and went to our room which was great.
couple of pointers:
after spending amonth in Malawi we were all looking forward to the hot water- unfortunatly wasnt to warm, but i think its warmer at certain times of the day.
Food was really good and really cheap same with booze!
It was good to see that this place had a great relationship with the locals and fed the profits back in to the community.
music can be loud on a friday night, but it was all good.
beds comfortable and not to many mozzies! also none of us got to ill from the lake but we didnt go in the shallows.
