Unfortunately the hotel is in a very bad shape. Even in the “freshly renovated” rooms there were problems with mould and moisture (on the ceiling and on the walls). The room was not well cleaned. The garbage bins in the basement were a complete mess (garbage was laying all around as the garbage bins were too small). The personnel was unfriendly and did not really care about any complaints.

Chose not to pay for a room with sea view, but still expected other rooms to be of the same standard. The room was extremely small, window overlooking block of flats.Bare light bulbs, shower with a mind of its own, either freezing cold or boiling hot. They claimed it had been refurbished this year but the corridors were filthy & in one area paint & plaster falling off walls.

We booked a three night stay at this hotel on 25th August. Upon arrival we were greeted by a very unfriendly receptionist who seemed to have no time for us booking in. We were told we could book in between 2.30 - 3pm although our booking said 2.30pm. so we decided to sit outside the restaurant and have a drink. Clearly placed on the window was a drinks tariff, a waiter came out and when he worked out we were English he sent an English waiter, who was very helpful and welcoming. We ordered our beer, and it was given to us by a waitress who brought just one of the two beers and the bill. She talked at us in French and we figured this meant pay the bill, when we double checked the bar tariff in the window we worked out we had been over charged. When we queried this the French waitress was very rude and shouted at us and the English waiter in French. It was very obvious how rude she was being and the you could see the waiter was embarrassed of her behaviour. She very unwillingly refunded the difference to us. she then ripped the drinks menu off the window, in a childish way.
when we came to booking in the receptionist gave us one room key card and when we got to the third floor the card hadn't been activated. Fortunatly there was a very nice only French speaking maid helped us and let us in.
the corridor leading to our room was very dated with stains all over the carpet and an awful smell that did not go. At the end of the corridor there was a board and the ceiling looked like it was going to cave in.
Our room was exactly like it showed it would be there was ample storage and a velux window that we opened immediately. The bedding was sheet and blanket that were obviously dated but the room was clean and dust free. The bathroom was upstairs and was dated but clean and the shower was good although head room in the shower was limited!!!!!
The maid did come in each day and made the beds and cleaned.
The hotel is in an excellent location we had no need to use the carpark as there is lots of free car parks and on the road parking. The side streets offer parking too.
There was a restaurant of which we would of gone into but after the rudeness of the waitress and the heavy prices of alcohol we decided to explore the area,
There is so many places to eat and enjoy and alternative places to buy alcohol. Just a few doors down beer can be found at a good price.
On the second morning at 6.30am the fire alarm went off!!!! we got up and proceeded to leave the room. The alarm went off a further three times despite being told to return to our rooms, not sure why as breakfast was continental.
There was no smoke detectors or alarms in the rooms!!!!!
The TV was all in French, but we didn't spend enough time in our room for this to bother us.
The English waiter that we met on the first day was very helpful during our stay he offered us a map and mentioned some lovely eating places in the town that he had been to.
All the staff apart from the French lady at breakfast and the maid were extremely dismissive they didn't seem to have any customer service skills or any concern to find out if we were happy during our stay, there was no good morning have a nice day, you would of thought they would be encouraging business and be welcoming.
Upon departure the receptionist asked our room number, and gave us the bill there was no did you have an enjoyable stay, or have a safe journey. She spoke English but didn't seem to want to communicate we paid our bill and made an exit!
This hotel is a chain but this doesn't seem to make a difference to the way the staff behave, they need customer service training ASAP!!!!
With the hotel in such a beautiful central location the service should be the same. I would go back to Berck sur mer but would look into alternative accommodation.

Stayed in hotel for long weekend with family - total 4 rooms. Rooms were basic but adequate for weekend stay. Great thing about hotel is it is situated near to town centre and just across from beach. Staff helpful and friendly, will stay there again.

This was our second visit here. This time we chose an apartment. The apartment itself was good, had everything you needed. We decided to make use of the kitchenette, which you have to pay for. My only complaint with this is that the sink smelt disgusting as it probably hadn't been used for a while. It stopped smelling after the 2nd day as we had run plenty of water down it.
The other negative is that there is no longer a bar in the hotel, they have decided to make it a restaurant only.
Oh and forgot to mention that when we booked, we weren't told that the front of the hotel was a huge building site, scaffolding covering the front of the hotel, diggers and builders stuff in the car park.
Would I come back again? Yes of course, this is a very good hotel, reasonably priced, clean and tidy and it is 20 meters from the beach.

We have just had our third visit to this Hotel, the first was a promo 2 years ago and after booking and checking reviews the outlook was not good. Despite the reviews the service was good, the rooms adequate and the food in the stunning 5th floor restaurant very good.It is the channel coast so don't expect a Costa climate but still a very pleasant town and hotel

Room Tip: Rooms facing the sea, are about euro 85 against 60- 65 except for the view, which is limited by the...

You cannot fault the location; cross the road to the beautiful sandy beach. However, it really is a 2 star establishment. We stayed in the apartment part of the hotel which can apparently accommodate four, but only if other 2 are small children. The kitchenette facility is useful but be warned you pay 6 euros a day for the privelige of using it - this may not bother you, but factor in that if you pay for parking and wifi access when staying in the apartments this adds a total of 15 euros a night.

It really is faded and jaded in terms of decor; split carpet on the stairs; patch-up jobs with unmatching paint on the ceiling; bathroom drains that have seen better days and a leaking gutter above the balcony - but if you don't mind this and want access to a beach which is excellent, clean and has plenty for children to do then it is ok.

The staff were begrudging in their attitude - I got the feeling I was disturbing their day by staying there. We asked for a wifi code that when given did not work. When I went to tell them it didn't work the surly receptionist tapped some keys on her computer and announced it did work. Of course when I returned to our room it didn't, so I ended up taking my laptop down to show that it didn't. It turned out to be their error - they had not written the password correctly, but no apology or smile - just a few tapped keys and 'it will work now'. I'm not sure that just because it's a 2 star establishment you have to have 2 star personal service.

So - if you're not fussy and want an excellent location then book it. If you like perfectly clean, fresh surroundings this is definitely not the place for you.

Room Tip: If staying in apartments ask for a low floor - I saw someone open their door on floor one who had pa...
