We stayed for one night at the Hotel Gasthof Brunner in mid-June. We paid 65E/night for a double which included all taxes, breakfast and parking. The reservation was made directly from the hotel by internet. This hotel and the town of Enns were recommended by friends as a convenient place to overnight while touring Austria.
The location of the hotel is directly on the main square of Enns which is a 5 minute drive from highway A1. We used this as a stopover from Melk to Salzburg. The hotel consists of a few floors of rooms above a casual, popular restaurant. The halls were quite basic. When we first saw the room #12 we were a bit disappointed. The furniture looked bland and the room seemed dark. Upon further inspection we found quite a few amenities. There is a small fridge, a phone in the room, cable TV with English CNN, and a small but spotless bathroom. There is no air-conditioning and the window of our particular room only tilted out so it was a bit stuffy. There was also some noise coming from the square below.
The staff was very friendly and gave us information concerning walking about the town of Enns. The included breakfast was your typical buffet with cooked eggs being offered. The free private parking area is located around the corner. We were able to pay with credit card and appreciated the low 65/E price.
In conclusion this hotel met our needs. It was very close to the highway and Enns is very centrally located for touring Austria. Considering the low price, I would stay at the Hotel Brunner again.
