“Awesome and really unforgettable experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2013

The stay was really awesome - it was an unforgettable vacation that we were preparing for months. I went there with my family. All of us remained in a quality villa, that was very clean and experienced every little thing we required. After a long and tiring safari in tanzania we needed some rest and someting fun, so we moved to the paradise resort zanzibar. Of course, we all put in most of our own times presently there! It had been wonderful to offer the free of charge shuttle bus relating to the seashore residence as well as the motel, as it would have been a beautiful stroll each morning but it has been good in order to relax on public transit back in the mid-day after a tough day's soothing! One and only thing I'd personally have to say is who's could be better to incorporate some beverages along with treats on the beach front, although it is extremely near the nearby small town if you get actually needy there is certainly a lot from which to choose right now there.

For the times where we were not really by the pool, we arranged a few adventures with all the hotel. The particular chrome has been extraordinary, and something we all determined there were to complete in the course of each of our keep. The idea failed to disappoint- precisely how fantastic as a way to start to see the creatures inside their normal habitat. And also the information ended up being extremely educated making it us feel totally safe and sound. We also loved the actual visit to the particular Jozani New world, where we got lots of gorgeous wild birds as well as butterflies (my favourite) and some monkeys as you go along also! Our own preferred tour (in addition to the safari) has been the actual trip to nowhere Lagoon. The particular snorkeling was distinct course for you to any place else we'd recently been so we could actually stay in each and every put on your visit for as long as we appreciated without any stress or perhaps hastening from your manual. The meals has also been wonderful- lots of berries along with fish.

The foodstuff on the lodge had been good. One and only thing I might say is it's far better to decide on 50 percent aboard, because self serve buffet was a minor standard. They have a separate supper food selection for people who aren't booked by using an all-inclusive foundation which usually, in your opinion, ended up being greater.

Through each of our stay, Bert causing all of workers in the resort had been really friendly, and also excited about making certain there was the most effective keep probable, with a lot of advice associated with neighborhood spots to visit, and planning the day trips using residents, which has been excellent, because it has been completely different to any place else there was recently been before.

“Mooi resort op rustige locatie”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2013

After a safari in Tanzania we stayed in this hotel for a few days. It was a very relaxing and comfortable stay. Food is ok, buffet was enough choice but basic (a bit spicier would be nice). If you don't stay halfboard or allinclusive, they have a menu where you have a good choice. The hotel has all western comfort (clean, nice rooms, wifi, tv etc.) but sometimes electricity goes down, so it doesnt work all the time. Keep in mind it's still Africa! You have to be flexible. Anyway, the owner Bert and the rest of the staff tried to make it a comfortable stay for everyone. They succeeded.

With low tide there is a good walk from the hotel to Uroa beach (30-45 min), otherwise you can take the bus from the hotel. The fact there is no beach in front of the hotel was no problem for us. The swimming pool is clean and good for relaxing also.

Snorkelling tour was a bit pricy, but fantastic. We were lucky to see dolphins on our way!

Point of attention: There were no snacks (only drinks) at the Beach House (maybe because it was low season or because of the renovation of the Beach House - in our perspective it would be a very good idea)

“We stayed at Paradise Beach Resort over Christmas and New Year 2012”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2013

What a lovely holiday! I have to say that Bert and his staff are exceptionally friendly and they make you go out of your way to make you feel welcome, comfortable and to assist you with anything. Our luggage did not arrive from Kenya the day we arrived in Zanzibar. The staff at the reception rang the airline continuously on the day and that night our bags arrived. We were exceptionally grateful for the intervention. The resort is beautiful and if you're the kind of person who wishes to relax by the pool all day or at the beach ... this is the holiday for you. The food was great and we really enjoyed the variety on offer too. We also thoroughly enjoyed the excursions we booked through the hotel. I can't fault anything to be honest. The only downside is that there is no beach but the nearest beach is 5 minutes away by shuttle bus which departs from the reception. Thank you to Bert and all his staff for a great holiday. We will definitely be back.

“Untrustworthy Management”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2013

We had the same experience as London000000. We booked and PBR confirmed our reservation for 2 luxury villas for 5 nights in December/January. When we arrived we were told our room was just up the road and we would be taken in the hotel's bus. When we were taken to our "rooms" we were taken to another hotel and shown to rooms which were anything but luxury standard. We then went back to PBR and spoke to Bert, the owner, who offered no explanation why our "confirmed" booking had not been honored. He also claimed to have emailed us to explain we were being transferred to another room - a claim that was falacious - and produced a bogus email to back up his claim.

At this time of the year just about any hotel in Zanzibar is fully booked. We spent several hours looking for alternative accommodation unsuccessfully so had to stay in the rooms offered. We later found out that a lot of other people with confirmed bookings had also been gazzumped by PBR - apparently by a Russian travel agent that belatedly asked for rooms for a group of their clients. All in all, a thoroughly distasteful experience with these people. Anyone intending to stay here should be very wary that they may arrive to find they will not be getting what they booked for.

“Double booked”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2013

It's difficult to give a thorough review of PBR, they double booked room and sent us (and many others too) to another hotel. We were not warned in advance, but told when we arrive late at night to check in. We were told an untrue story as to why this happened and found out later that it had happened to many other people.
