This hotel is in an ideal location overlooking the sea and within walking distance of Altea. It has a nice pool which is sadly unheated. The hotel is mainly frequented by Spanish people of pensionable age and they can be rather noisy!

However, health and safety issues were a concern. The toilet seat in our bathroom was badly cracked and there was a nasty smell in the en-suite. In the restaurant there were many chipped saucers and cups with cracked handles which was unacceptable. The breakfast is a free for all frenzy---if you're not fast, you're last. Food standard was very cheap---cold fried eggs, bacon fatty, cheap bread and rolls. Disappointing, to say the least.

Very nice stay for 5 days in september. Clean rooms, breakfast with a lot of choices, although the restaurant could be more 'cosy'. Would be excellent to have breakfast outside at the terrace...
Take a good cup of coffee at the terrace bar!
Very nice swimming pool. The beach is with stones, unfortunately no chairs, it is not allowed to take a chair from the terrace to the beach. To swim in the sea; not for little children as in a few steps it gets a little steep.
About 10-15 min walk to the centre of Altea, take care for the busy road, or walk near the beach.

Looking for a room and have children? Need extra bed, maybe a travel cot? By the sea? This is your place when visiting Altea or Calpe in Alicante. They make you feel comfy at all times, and that´s what you look for when you´re a dad. It´s right by the sea,and the the views from the pool are just awesome (Peñon de Ifach,yes...).

Because of the distance to Altea (Need a car) just plan to stay in the hotel.Better off...

It´s just fair to say something not so good about it.It´ll be a certain feeling of being in a renewed 70s hotel...But still that´s just not such a bad feeling when everything is crystal clear, clean, nice and thought of.

Room Tip: Sleeping with the sound of waves is just awesome.

Excellent hotel used as an emergency fix as our villa was not ready, very friendly traditional hotel something different to your typical Costa's hotel as majority of residents here Spanish. Food not much to write home about, very dry and left out in Buffett. Can't complain of surrounding and people all very nice.

Spent 3 nights at this hotel. Firstly hotel is very spacious but dated. Reception very helpful and having previously requested a high floor sunny room our request was met. We had room 446, end of the building on a corner with excellent sea views and a large and sunny balcony. The room was very warm, clean and the beds were comfortable. Large bath and lots of hot water. Unfortunately the hotel is let down by the food which is either grossly over or under cooked. Free wine with lunch and dinner which was also very poor quality. Bar prices were over inflated but as there is no other bar or hotel within easy walking distance they have a captive clientel. Parking facilities are very good either oputdoor which is free or under cover which is payable. Well placed for touring and would suggest that b&b in the summer would be a better bet than full board.

Room Tip: Were offering an upgrade to a sea view suite when we stayed there.Recommend room 446 if you like the...

Hotel in good position, right on the stony beach which was impossible to walk on. Hotel staff pleasant and helpful and on reception spoke good English. Room average, bathroom outdated with peeling paint on door, stained toilet seat and cigarette burns on shower screen. Soap was not replenished though the cheap smelling shower gel was. Although there was Wifi the speed was very slow but it was free in all rooms. The stair arrangement was bizarre, outside stairs to all floors so although normally we walk up and down stairs, we took the lift as there was usually a chilly wind (December). The corridors also were freezing. Breakfast was better than the evening meal, with cereals, cheese, custard pastries, eggs and bacon. The rolls were often stale and obviously left over from the previous evening. Fruit juice was a sickly sweet made up mix and always tasted of orange whatever button you pushed. Evening meal had very little choice, watery soup and once there was almost raw grissly steak, chips and greasy potato salad, the only tasty dish, an authentic tortilla. We gave up on the evening meal and went out for a lunch time chinese in Altea which filled us up enough to just have the tortilla that evening; The wine was free and actually quite nice. As previous reviews have said, the clientele are mostly Spanish pensioners on the equivalent to an English Saga break. Car parking was off road and free. Not a fault of the hotel obviously but there is no footpath into Altea just a white lined strip along the side of the main road, which was worrying when walking.
