“"Right on the water"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2014

Great hotel with a fantastic position, on the beach looking across to Turkey. Rooms very comfortable all have balconies. Staff always helpful and friendly. Breakfast overlooking the sea had an extensive range of options. Kos Town and the Port are very close as are great restaurants.
We loved our four days on Kos. We didn't use the pool but it looked okay. The music downstairs can be a little intrusive if on the balcony or you have your balcony door open.

Room Tip: The higher floors have the better views.

We stayed here before and after renting our sail boat from the Kos marina. The rooms all face the
water are quiet and clean. Nice beach front, breakfast on the patio, helpful staff. Would stay here again

We enjoyed our 2 nights here. Walking distance to everything, staff were great. Disappointed about no sun on our balcony, but that is the way we were facing, great view though. Breakfast was good, room was very comfortable.

Perfectly located, this hotel is great for sailors upon arrival to or departure from a sailing trip that starts in Kos. The rooms have patios looking East to Turkey. The hotel is modern, clean, and very comfortable. The staff is great especially Teti. The Vodafone store is a 2-minute walk for those wanting to buy data or cellphone time. Old town and the marina are within a 5-7 minute walk. The value for about 100 euros is very good. Breakfast and WiFi included.

Room Tip: I think they all face the waterfront and have patios but if not, ask for these room attributes.

We were a party of two couples travelling independently through the Cyclades and Dodecanese islands and spent nearly a week at the Kos Aktis Art Hotel (thanks to a storm which cancelled our ferry to Rhodes).

I have to say that we were pleasantly surprised by this smaller (4*) boutique hotel and were particularly impressed by the friendliness of all staff - especially so to the lovely ladies at the front desk, who should be commended. Despite the hotel filling up as the season built, they were always happy to advise and assist, including recommending some great places to eat (although you need to try the hotel’s own restaurant, which is mentioned in the Lonely Planet guide) and obtaining the best hire car we had on any of the islands - at a great price.

I agree with the other contributors here that the main advantage is a superb location with simply stunning views out to the Turkish coast and Kos Harbour. It’s the sort of place where you end up digging your binoculars out of your luggage and start taking an interest in things nautical (especially after a couple of G&Ts on the balcony). Having explored the town quite well, we felt this was definitely the nicer side of the harbour to be on. You are only a five minute walk from the main port and castle and there are nice restaurants to try all the way up to and beyond the new Marina.

There is no doubt that the sound of the waves lapping on the shoreline – just a few meters below your room – is a real treat. The only trouble was that by leaving your balcony door wide open you also invited in the piped music from the restaurant and sundeck area, which played till about 11:00 pm. We definitely preferred nature’s music!

The hotel design will appeal to the minimalist in you – it suits the heat of summer, I suspect – and overall, we thought the rooms were clean and comfortable with all the usual amenities you’d expect at the price (we paid €130 per night for B&B). Mind you, I defy anyone – no matter how young and attractive you might me - to use the trendy glass-walled bathroom with the blinds open. Being seen from the room sitting on the potty is just not a good look!

Adjoining the hotel is a handy pharmacy if you forget to pack your suntan lotion as well as one of the loveliest little bakeries we encountered with the most delicious (and inexpensive) ice creams that somehow always managed to get included into our evening walks along the beachfront.

The hotel had a perfectly good gymnasium with lovely views to the mountains and after a great workout, the breakfasts were generous and varied.

Room Tip: Top floor if you can...

It is gratifying to see a slightly older hotel make smart upgrades and stay up with the times without losing its older charms. With a spellbinding view of the Turk is cast and the Kos harbor this hotel delivers value, verve and high comfort. The spacious rooms are well lit, afford cozy balconies, comfortable beds and decent satellite TV and wifi.
.We only tried the restaurant for their fine breakfast buffet. Cheers for fine coffee and very good juice T G e eggs were fine if you caught them before sitting on the steam table too long

A great location, central to all you would want to see in town

We stayed for five nights and fell asleep each night to the sound of the water lapping on the shore. Great service, easy check in, large rooms with really comfy beds. Good shower, robe & slippers, safe, fridge and fantastic balcony overlooking the Aegean Sea with Turkey as the backdrop. The best location which was close to everything. Breakfast was delicious and ate in H2O restaurant for dinner which we loved. Try the pomegranate martini with complementary dips.

Room Tip: Ask for a room as high up as possible.
