“Wonderful week”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2012

Just got back from a week at the Gaia Gardens and had such a wonderful holiday. The hotel is lovely, only about a 30 minute coach ride from the aiprort, we arrived late, about 10pm, were given the key to our bungalow and then when we returned to the bar for a drink were given a plate of bread, ham, cheese eggs etc as we had missed dinner. All inclusive drinks are served till 11pm and are slightly limited, local beer, red and white wine, brandy and ouzo, was slightly disappointed that no other local spirits were on offer but there are plently of drinks avaialbe if you want to pay for them. The rooms were lovely, clean and seemed fairly new, fresh towels abd beds made everyday, a tv and freeview in the room (which we never managed to work but didnt matter as we only ever slept in there!) showers were lovely and hot at all times and there was AC in the room which was great as being there mid april it got a little chilly in the evening!

The all inclusive food was great, so much choice every meal time and the food was constantly being topped up by the chefs who always checked you were happy with everything. A few people said they would have liked the food to be hotter but it always seemed fine to me. There was a great mixture of traditional greek food and other more simple food for those who don't want to try new things. Drinks were self service in the restaraunt area which was great. The pancakes and waffles with honey at breakfast were my favourite!!

The pool area was great, lovely padded sunloungers and always very clean, the pool side bar made it great for lounging around and having a few drinks. the bar staff were brilliant, very entertaining anmd friendly. all the staff were lovely. Free wifi which we were able to pick up all over the complex was a great touch too. they also rent out laptops!!

we hired a quad one day from the rental shop opposite for 20 euro, great value and we had a fab day driving around the island, found some lovely queit beaches and enjoyed exploring. we also took a boat trip from down on the harbour (about a 15 min walk from the hotel), 20 euro for the day and it took is to some lovely coves for swimming and then to a little fishing harbour where we went for lunch (not included) and then a steady sail back to the harbour, 11am - 6pm, would definatley recommend this!

All in all the hotel was in a great location, the setting of the bungalows in the garden was lovely, pool table, tennis courts and ping pong table will keep everyone entertained!! Great staff and great value. I would however recommend looking at booking directly with the hotel as the price per person per day is very reasonable and you can fly to Kos with Ryan air and get a transfer to the hotel, we only paid £320 a week per person but doing it indepentdently would have saved us well over £100 each. even so I still feel the holiday was great value!!

This hotel is truly an amazing find. To try to make this review useful I'll try and structure it a little.

The service at the hotel is excellent. Their receptionist (a Dutch lady I believe) speaks nearly every language fluently. She is polite, helpful and extremely efficient. There is nothing she won't try to help with and is by far one of the most pleasant people we've come across on any holiday.

The rooms are small and nothing special but they are perfectly adequate for a nights sleep. We did find a couple of cockroaches in the bathroom but this really is to be expected in Greece and given that the rooms are low level hut type structures, it really can't be helped. We had no problems catching them and releasing them outside. That was the only thing I would have anything resembling a complaint about.

The food at bfast, lunch and dinner is fantastic. We went all inclusive and ate our fill each bfast, lunch and dinner. As others have eluded to, the drinks left a lot to be desired. The alcohol that's included in the deal is pretty low quality and ul have to pay for anything good quality. So if ur looking for a place where u can experience fine drinking then ul be disappointed. However, me and my wife are not huge drinker so it made little difference to us. The food was amazing. Fresh and tasty. The only thing we'd have liked more of was the very tasty baklava!

The location is perfect. Only a 15 min walk to kos town centre. The walk is pleasant and we always felt very safe indeed walking to kos town every night and walking back to our hotel.

We hired a moped for a week whilst out there and would highly recommend it. We rode the length of the island stopping off along the way. The landscape is amazing and I'd highly recommend exploring. The hot spring was a joy and u should certainly pay a visit. Having stopped off in many of the main towns in kos I would really recommend u stay in or around kos town. Everywhere else just wasnt as impressive.

The hotel generally was lovely. Always clean. Full of very friendly German and Dutch who were polite and quiet. No chavs lager louts which was refreshing. And contrary to belief there was always a sun bed available. The pool was lovely and pool bar always well staffed and helpful.

All in all a very pleasant trip. Highly recommended!!

Thanks to all the staff at the hotel.

it is a decent and nice hotel in Lambi..a suburb of kos town...beautiful gardens around the bungalow-style rooms...great breakfast and dinner ( choose full inclusive option or at least "breakfast-dinner included" ,the variety and the plentyness of food choice are remarkable)..nice swimming pool everyday full of people though...the room itself could be better (need some renovation) overalla a quite good hotel that could make your vocation really lovely.

I stayed at Gaia Garden in October 2011 and we really enjoyed it.
The room was not luxury but everything you need is there.
Anyway you don't go to Kos to spend your time in the room ;)
The weather was perfect even for October and we rented a scooter to visit all the villages and nice beaches.
The food at the hotel was better that expected and the priced we paid for 1 week all inclusive was very cheap for what you get.
In few words, this hotel is worth to visit and if we go back, we will definitely go there again.
Thanks and many regards to Karin, Sotiri and Vasili at the kitchen :)

It was the first time for our family when we stayed at this hotel, and it was really great! We felt like home, environment in the hotel is surrounded by a lot of trees and flowers that makes it warm. People who are working there were very kind and helpful all the time. Also food was very nice and every day something different including greek traditional dishes.
We looking forward to come back this year again to this small and warm hotel.
