“Nothing worth seeing”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2013

It clearly has no direct connection with Hippocrates but we still expected more than a very old tree surrounded by a scruffy railing in an out-of-the-way area.

Amazing piece of history which links into the oath taken by doctors today.... Incredible that this piece of the tree still stands

“Meet history where it was made”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2013

Of course, this is not THE tree, where the father of modern medicine thought his first students, but it is a descendant and I love being in the presence of such monumental, historic places, where important things happened. It's like meeting a celebrity, but much cooler. All of Greece is like that for me.

“Sounds better than it is”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2013

The idea that you can see, touch or sit beneath the tree that the father of medicine taught under would be fantastic were it not for the fact that the tree itself, though old , is not old enough to have been around for over two thousand years, however that is not to say that it has not grown from a seedling of that original tree. The scaffolding that surrounds and supports the branches of the tree also detracts from the spectacle. Worth the visit if only to say you have been there.

“Don´t expect too much but it is a must”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2013

Close to the tree there are shady benches where you can rest your legs in the heat of the day. One of the most difficult objects to get a good photo, because of the day time contrasts. Worth a bypass, but really not much more.
