After a week's sailing in confined quarters, Aqua Blu provided just the right dose of spa luxury to end a perfect trip. The design of everything within the hotel is first rate. Trendy interior decor, luxury spa, pool terrace which gets the perfect sunset and just the right size to feel 'boutique' yet popular. During our visit we sampled lunch and dinner from the bar menu, a hot stone massage, a swim in the pool and a look at some of the rooms albeit that we didn't stay overnight. We were not disappointed.

Ok.. So there are some faults which management may like to address in due course.. Yes, the water in the pool is a little icy, the English translation on the menu is not the finest, the beach could do with some tlc to make it pristine BUT... This hotel has all the makings of a fantastic offering for a week's getaway.

My advice.. Get there before prices rise.

Everything is perfect, and the thing that we especially loved is the atmosphere. The best hotel attracts the best people. The most relaxing vacation we ever had. The only thing to improve is the service at breakfast.

We stayed at Aqua Blu for 4 nights and had a wonderful stay. The staff was very helpful and welcoming. We absolutely loved the contemporary design of the hotel. The pool area was beautiful with many loungers and beds for the guests to lay out on. Across the street was the private beach for hotel guests. As others have said, the beach and surrounding area could use a little cleaning up, but there are plenty of lounge chairs out there for guests to relax. We felt the water was a little to rough to swim in though. The hotel is walking distance from Kos Town, about 20-30 minutes, however we rented bicycles and found that much more convenient and the hotel has racks that you can park them at. The spa was absolutely delightful. We each received to treatments there and were very pleased. They have a good variety of treatments to choose from. We visited the restaurant on site twice for dinner and twice for breakfast and were very satisfied with our food and service. The room and hotel were kept very clean. Overall, it was an amazing stay for us. Highly recommended.

We chose this hotel on the strength of it being a new boutique hotel, and there was a good offer on basically! There was some confusion initially as to whether this hotel was actually on the beach, but it transpired you had to cross a busy corner to get to the beach, more on this later.
After a 30 minute taxi ride to the hotel (35€), first impressions were good. The hotel is on a corner plot set apart from anywhere else. We checked in at the desk and were immediately offered a welcome drink of our choice which we enjoyed overlooking the pool area. The reception, lounge and pool areas are contemporary and stylishly decorated with a white minimalist theme. The pool area has plenty of attractive loungers and four flat double beds directly in the pool itself. The pool is of a good size but is rather bracing to say the least! So first impressions good so far. The manager, Maria, then gave us a tour of the hotel, restaurant and spa area before showing us to our Deluxe Suite. Again, everything was very stylish and tasteful. Our room was a good size with a separate (but open plan) lounge area with two plasma TVs. But the bathroom is also open plan so if this your first holiday as a new couple, the loo only has a clear partition! British TV channels are few, BBC World, Euro News, that’s about it, though one channel showed a film every night if you do get in early.
There are lots of comments about the breakfast on offer. And many comments about the solitary glass of orange juice! We deliberately tested this theory and were rewarded with a second glass on several occasions! Eggs and other hot items were on the menu to order from the waiter, and a selection of cold meats, cheese, cereals, fruit, breads were available on the buffet. The last two days of our stay saw this change, with hot items such as scrambled egg, sausage and bacon also added to this table, though you could still order from the menu. So the hotel management are working hard to improve things on a daily basis. Service was sometimes a little slow but nothing really to complain about.
We used the spa on many occasions, sampling massage, facial, manicure and enjoyed them all.
The Manager, Maria, and the owner (who was also there looking at ways to improve the hotel) spoke to us daily and were very friendly and interested in any feedback we had to offer. And you could see they were genuinely looking at ways to improve service and facilities.
The beach across the road has private loungers and parasols for the hotel, but it isn’t the nicest beach around. I think it needs a lot of cleaning up to make it more attractive for guests to visit. If you keep walking right around the corner you come to Lambi beach which is less choppy, with nicer sand etc. Also, the area surrounding the hotel is not very nice to look at, just barren waste ground which looks scruffy.
The hotel is walking distance of restaurants, and Kos town is about a 30 minute walk away. A taxi ride if you can’t be bothered to walk will set you back €7, but once in the town there are lots of bars and restaurants to choose from. And you are not hassled massively to go into a restaurant like in some countries. If you don’t want to go as far as the town centre, if you walk right out of the hotel and keep walking til you get to a big supermarket there is a sign saying Lambi beach, go down here and there are a few beach bars and restaurants which are quite cool. So there is lots of choice if you don’t like to eat in the hotel al the time. We had lunch twice and ate in the hotel restaurant on our first night, all were very good, but we always to like to venture out for our meals.
One day we discovered the safe in our room was broken, and within half an hour, a chap had replaced it and we were good to go again. Another time the lock on our door wasn’t locking, and again, it was fixed very quickly.
All the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. Special mentions to Maria the Manager, Maria in the bar, and Eric at breakfast, also the guy on the desk but I didn’t catch his name.
Would I recommend this hotel, yes I would. It is set apart from other hotels so a little farther out from the hustle and bustle, but only enough to get some peace and quiet. The beach and immediate surrounding area could be better, but in general the hotel itself is nice and the staff and management are all working together as a team to put this hotel on the map.

Stayed there for a week and found that it is a very nice and stylish location. The restaurant is the week link of the hotel: too expensive compared to the offer ... but there are excellent restaurants in walking distance (20 min). Special thanks to Nadia and Nikos! Some evaluators mentioned that there were children disturbing the silence - I personally would encourage the hotel management to make it a place where families can enjoy a good time together including children (we have not been there with children) as it is really a very charming place.
