“Diamond Deluxe Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2012

The Diamond Deluxe hotel offers pleasant surroundings and good facilities. The decoration of the whole hotel is to a high standard with many interesting design aspects. All staff are extremely friendly and helpful, the management should be pleased with their team. The food on offer in the buffet restaurant was always well received, especially the Greek night, I would however avoid the Italian restaurant which did not match the standard of the buffet restaurant. The bar is well stocked and is looked after by a great barman called Babis, his concoctions were a nightly highlight. Drinking in the hotel is an expensive pastime so I would recommend a trip into Kos town as even with cost of transport, 18 Euros return by taxi, money can be recouped after a few drinks in comparison to what it would have cost you at the hotel. I stayed in a Diamond Suite which was satisfactory overall however was in need of some minor attention due to damage to the laminate flooring and signs of leaks in the bathroom. The whole hotel is kept exceptionally clean, with the cleaning staff taking an obvious pride in their work. I would recommend Diamond Deluxe Hotel as the only real negative with my stay was concerning the cost of drinks which may not be an issue for others. My best recommendation is to give Giannis Dinoris a call on +30 6940 57 33 01 he is a taxi driver who knows all the best places to eat and drink on the island his advice led to the discovery of some real gems.

For once the photographs didn't lie. The Hotel was well maintained both internally & externally even though it is due to close for the end of the season in one week. The food in the restaurant was excellent with plenty of choice. The staff were always pleasant & clear your table very quickly. Other hotel staff were also pleasant & offer assistance & advice when requested. You have a choice of swimming in the hotel pools or walking across the road onto the beach & swimming in the sea. If you intend to swim in the sea I would suggest you take some footwear because of pebbles on entry but it is safe. You can walk into Kos taking between 1 hr & 90 mins but a bus service operates from outside the hotel which takes 10 mins & runs every 30 mins. We used bus No.2 which goes direct & costs 1.60 euros or 1.50 euros to return depending on if you can purchase a ticket at the kiosk or you have to pay the driver. The only negative I have to say is that because of the time of our arrival the restaurant was closed & a plated meal had been left out in our room. This was considered your evening meal for the first day & then when we were leaving we had to pay for an evening meal at a cost of 15 euros each (optional). I have suggested that they review this policy for 2013 & provide an evening meal on the day of departure for those guests that have a late departure time. I would be happy to return to the hotel in the future.

What a fantastic time we both had at the Diamond Deluxe Hotel!
The hotel was spotless, food was very good lots of choices.
Staff a credit to the DDH name everybody really helpful and polite especially Otillia and Mario who made our restaurant visits a joy, and our cleaner sorry I never got her name. (room 116 from 13th October to 20th Oct).
We look forward to returning to this hotel in the future and have already started recommending it to friends.
Thanks again all staff at the Diamond Deluxe Hotel.

Room Tip: Poolside room next time we visit!

One of the most important tips we can give you is to ensure that the room type description on the 'holiday voucher' is word for word of what you have booked. Ie, we had booked a Superior Deluxe Pool Front room and on arrival late at night, found ourselves upstairs with a smaller room facing the sea (/ road). The hotel staff were fantastic and swift in rectifying the mistake, however having spoken to other lovely guests staying there, this problem was not uncommon and had caused unnecessary stress on arrival. So please, double check your paperwork before you go!
Next tip - do try and book a pool front room if you can as you have your own sunbeds at the front of your room and do not have to worry about the silly sunbed game in the morning. Beware, one side of the hotel is in shade until early afternoon (i think the rooms 100's - 300's).
Finally and on a very positive note, the hotel is very clean, has a relaxed atmosphere, the staff are very friendly and helpful, the food is delicious (plenty for veggies too), the pool is huge (can anyone else swim underwater the widest section??) and the cocktails (thanks to Babis) are amazing - ask him for a surprise!
Ooh - hire a bike too! Only a 10 min ride to Kos Town and a lovely 30 min ride to Tigaki (nice fish restaurants and beaches).
Thanks to all at the HCC and the lovely people we met for a super lovely holiday ;-)

Room Tip: The 100's - 300's (I think, check) are in the shade and book a pool front room if you can

Having just returned from 10 days at the DDH (or as the logo reads upside down :HCC) I'd agree with all of the previous positive reviews of this very elegant hotel, so maybe a slightly different perspective. The hotel sits back from a very long straight road which judging by the number of roadside shrines plays host to not very talented boy racers out of season. In fact there is very little traffic on the road which runs parallel to the beach and the cycle path to Kos Town.

The view from the front of the hotel looks over Turkey just a few miles to the east and the small islands of Pserimos and Kalimnos almost directly north. We spent most days on the beach and even late in the season the sea was beautiful for swimming and the sun was tempered by a gentle breeze.

The rear of the hotel overlooks fields of tethered cows and then further in the distance a very attractive range of hills; so there are wonderful views from every perspective.

The hotel staff are certainly a hard working and cheerful bunch, even at the very tail end of the season when I would have expected a bit of a greeting through gritted teeth.

Whilst I suspect the hotel attracts couples in the main, we visited over half term and so there were a few families (like us) with teen age children. It does then become noticeable that there is virtually nothing at all to do particularly in the evenings after dinner. As a consequence our impression was that there was very little mixing amongst guests and rather sadly the main activity seemed to be huddling over ipads, laptops and smart phones around the bar area wifi hub. This is not a criticism, just an observation, but it did mean that the teens didn't really have much of an excuse to mix and mingle. All that pent up teen angst! Just a little entertainment or activity might have broken the ice.

However this is a small gripe. Our stay was very enjoyable and hugely relaxing. And our son managed to read one and half Dickens novels which was the whole point if he's ever going to get his advanced Highers!

Room Tip: We were in a maisonette and loved it.

The photos don't lie. The hotel was fantastic. My wife and I stayed for two blissful weeks here at Diamond Deluxe. The Barstaff and the reception staff were most helpful and polite nothing was too much trouble. Thanks especially to Katerina, Babis, Esta and Mario. The room was kept spotless by housekeeping and the buffet style meals were always plentiful and varied. If you get the chance for a special treat eat upstairs in the a la carte restaurant, little used but a great view at sunset and early evening

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms in blocks 4 & 6 have sun terraces and loungers at poolside with the sunniest...
