“Yet another enjoyable stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2012

We have just returned from Hotel Tirolerhof today after an excellent two weeks stay, when it snowed and snowed. Martyn (The Manager) and his excellent team made us very welcome and kindly allowing us to have the same room as before, overlooking the piste. All facilities are of a high standard. The staff are always very approachable from reception to the restaurant.
If you have a problem just ask and it will be solved. The meals are good, very good with a wide selection of local dishes, which are plentiful. Put it this way, the salopettes fit more snuggly.
Local ski school next door should you need lessons. If you prefer to walk instead of ski, there are a number of pathways to enjoy, and if it snows, they are maintained very quickly. Austria just keeps going...unlike another country I could mention.
A nice walk is from Oberau to Neiderau about an hour slight gradients only, and then as you enter Neiderau, make use of the 'Impess' supermarket, they serve an excellent latte and pastry...wasitline watching is not good. The views are stunning....puts Tesco's and Asda's to shame. There is a ski shuttle bus which runs along the valley to all three piste's, the pass is issued by your hotel...and it's free.
Oberau is a quiet location, but they have the necessary facilities, banks, chemist, supermarket/s, ski equipment rental shops and the doctors......they do a nice line in plasters and not the sticky ones.....so they tell me.
I would highly recommend The Hotel Tirolerhof for the traditional food and entertainment. Another visit is planned in summer....sorry Martyn. To enable us to enjoy the summer countryside.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the piste ( De-luxe)

This was our first trip to the Hotel Tirolerhof but it certainly won't be the last. We had a beautiful room overlooking the piste which was very spacious, spotlessly clean and well laid out. The food was excellent with plenty of choice and even kept my fussy 15 year old son happy. Martin and his family make their guests feel so welcome, and all the staff provide an excellent service including the entertainment in the hotel on a regular basis. The attention to detail in this hotel is second to none! We can understand now why friends of ours have been returning for the past 13 years, and next year we will be returning with them.

We arrived on Christmas Eve in time for the gala dinner which was wonderful. We were made to feel really welcome by Martyn and the family and received friendly, helpful service throughout our week. The food was truly delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed every meal, especially the sweet buffet! Our room was comfortable, spacious and warm and the bathroom immaculate with a good shower and non-stop hot water.
Fantastic location right on the slopes and ski school/hire shop. Very short walk to the bus stop for free bus to other ski areas.
Amazing first ski holiday experience and this hotel will be extremely hard to beat when considering our next holiday - I think we'll be back! We would not hesitate to recommend it!

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the ski area.

We had a fortnight at the Tirolerhof in September. Everything was perfect with a beautiful room looking down the valley, next door to the room we had at our last stay.Martin was kind enough to grant our request for a room that we knew we liked. All the staff and family were helpful and friendly. Thanks especially to the waitresses who were so cheerful and efficient. Loved Michela, she's a great asset and a hard worker as were they all.
We will return. Thank you all.
Family Anderson

Room Tip: The rooms with a view are not on the sunny side but we prefer them. Very quiet.

Cannot rate this hotel high enough. The room, the service, the food, the sauna, the pool - everything was excellent. Martin and his staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. I enjoyed my stay so much that I didn't want to go home. There is nothing negative I can add. Special mention to receptionist, Brigid, always friendly and obliging.

We had a very pleasant balcony room (at the front) which was spacious and very clean. The staff were always friendly and helpful. The food was first class (at Breakfast and Dinner - and we even were provided with a packed Lunch everyday !). Would not hesitate to recommend this lovely hotel to anyone spending time in Oberau. This village is located in a spectacular area for a summer break (in what is obviously a serious winter resort).

We had a great time and found the hotel to be the best we have stayed in, in Austria. The staff were always helpful and friendly. The food was very good with special evenings giving variety. Cannot fault the hotel in any way. We hope to return as soon as possible. Tne village of Oberau is a good centre if you like to walk, as we do.
