“Spectacular views of mountains and river.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2013

Lovely hotel a real "room with a view" and a lovely peaceful grassy area to seat out and enjoy the clean air, the sunshine, and the peace. Good food well presented, polite and friendly staff. Our room was very pleasant and we could hear the soothing murmur of the river. The mountains looked lovely. Again, like everywhere else we stayed in this long trip we were the only European couple so people were extra friendly as well as curious.

NOTE the hotel does not serve any alcohol. If you need to drink go somewhere, but you will miss out on the most stunning views.

Room Tip: Try to get a room fairly near reception and the dining area

The ONLY USP of this hotel is a nice valley view that you can enjoy sitting in its lawn. Other than that the hotel is at best an average hotel. I visited this place in May with my family and though the overall stay was good, the hotel definitely didn't meet my expectations. Following are some of the shortcomings that the hotel should seriously look into:

1. The suite room given to us was just slightly bigger than the adjoining double room (we stayed in D1)

2. Though the bathroom was clean, it hardly has any space to stand and take a shower. The glass panel and the hand support are too close for comfort and may hurt in case one loses the balance

3. The hotel doesn't allow kids to play in the lawns and this policy is not mentioned when booking the rooms. I have stayed at another hotel (a big brand) in Manali and we never faced any such issue

4. The staff is very greedy and is looking for tips all the time. This is despite the fact that the hotel charges 10% service charge (I read a few other reviews and they seem to have faced the same problem). The issue of tips has plagued the entire Kashmir especially the ghodawallas and going by my experience, I wouldn't recommend people to go to Kashmir (especially if you have a budget that you want to stick to). And oh, not to mention, when they don't get tips, the behavior suddenly becomes hostile and rude.

5. The hotel charges for WIFI !!! A service that is basic nowadays is charged and that too by the hour. For those who are interested in having net access should consider taking a post-paid connection or a dongle that could work there (prepaid connections dont work, including the phone) .

6. The recreation room has 1 table tennis and 1 billiards table. One is not allowed to play on the billiards table if one doesnt know how to play (have never faced this issue in other hill stations). The TT place is cramped and on one side is so low that one can hurt the head when getting up after picking the ball.

All in all, an average place with a beautiful view and decent food.

Room Tip: I personally didnt find much difference between Double and Suite Room. And yes, book this hotel only...

Had gone in last week of may to pahalgam hotel with 3 families for 4 nights.. Honestly when i checked in wasnt sure have i chosen right hotel for 4 nights, as front desk is lousy n too small n rooms had a heritage(old) kind of rooms. To my surprise in few hours. my perception n feeling changed totally. Must say Pahalgam hotel has amazing river n mountain views, sip in coffe n munch cookies in d pleasent evening time was so rejuvenating !!! I am sure u wont believe but food here is simply superb n its not just north indian food, they have best of d continental, italian n chinese dishes too. Gradually i liked that heritage rooms too.Must say front desk receptionist sayyad was too good making sure for everything perfect !!! it was definetely memorable holiday !!

Room Tip: to choose a good room u need to check in at earliest, as they have just 28 rooms

Had a Fantastic vacation with family. The hotel is at the best possible location in Pahalgam. Everything that the hotel has to offer is Excellent. The Garden upfront is what sets this hotel apart from the rest. Any other hotel can share the fantastic view but the way you can enjoy that sitting in the Garden sipping your choice of beverage be it the delectable Kavah, Tea or a Cappuccino is just unmatched. Do not miss an opportunity to try their famous Tandoori Trout (fish) and Trout Manuiere at their Trout Beat restaurant.

Pahalgam Hotel is a wonderfu hotel in the heart of Pahalgam with a fantastic view of the River Lidder and snowcapped mountains. The best part of this hotel is their pampered butler service always around you for each and every need. Very good food ensures that your stay at this hotel will be wonderful experience. We stayed at the hotel for 3 Nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel.
