Nice and clean room. No traffic outside, so we slept well. The service was very good, they were helpfull and kind. They spoke english and swedish/norwigen. Good breakfast. The best was the staff and room. Least was the location.

Easily i would rank my experience as one of top of barcelona a few blocks a ways from the center. The note is very clean breakfast is amazing, free wifi and they do their best to serve your needs- without ripping you off.

5-7 minutes walk to the santa eulalia station, another maybe 8 minutes to be in gran via2 mall.

Really glad with my stay, i had even parking issues as i had a big van that didn't get in the normal parking garages so they helped me out.

Lara, Barbara, Jose and all other team of the hotel, thank you for hosting us and we will definitely come beach again

The room is quiet and it had a nice comfortable bed. We were given 2 thick pillows each. We requested a king-size bed on the top floor with a balcony and this was given to us. The check-in time is stated as 3pm, but we reached the hotel at 1pm and the room was ready. The TV obviously had the Spanish channels, but we did need the reception staff to change the TV settings, to enable us to access the 2 English channels available, which were CNN and BBC World Service.
The bathroom was clean and soap, body wash and a hair dryer were available. The towels were a little worn off, but they were changed every day. The bathroom floor was slippery!! When we first entered the room there was a strong detergent smell and the smell lingered for a good few hours. There were no tea or coffee facilities.
The Metro is 10 minutes walk away. There is a small local supermarket on the way to the metro. When you come out from the entrance of the hotel turn left, walk a few metres, there is a big roundabout. Take the 3rd exit and walk straight. It will take you to the main road. Turn right and walk about 10 minutes. There is a big shopping mall called Gran Via 2 and a supermarket called Carrefour is inside the mall. The journey is approximately 20 minutes walk from the hotel.
We took train and metro to reach the hotel from the airport T2. For the return journey we took a cab from the hotel, which the hotel staff booked for us. The distance to the airport is 12 km. When we reached the airport the taxi meter showed 18 Euros. When taxes were added to it, it came to 25 Euros. For a 12 km journey for 2 people with hand luggage only, the journey cost us 25 Euros, which is a rip off.

Room Tip: top floor with a balcony.

Stayed in this hotel in February whilst working at the fira congress ,it is only a 15 minute walk away, the hotel itself is clean ,modern rooms with modern bathroom, hotel staff are very pleasant and helpful, breakfast is quite basic but enough to get you going, overall a nice stay would recommend but only if working or visiting the fira congress or shopping at Gran via 2,a massive shopping centre with lovely expensive shops, if you want to be near La Rambla you are quite far from here ,about € 20:00 in a taxi.

This hotel is decorated like a W but with substance of a motel six.
Bad things:
1. our room was TINY. Literally just enough room at the end of the bed to the wall for one person to walk. There was no dresser and the night stands had no drawers. Why do they hate drawers?

2. Tiny window that went to an airshaft and was directly across from another room.

3. Poorly constructed. The flooring was separately in our room, the tub had issues with draining and there wasn't enough lighting especially for such a dark room. Even during the day we had to turn the light on.

4. The wifi is free but it was not very fast and we ended up using device we had bought to get faster internet.

5. We got our clothes washed through their service and they came back still damp with the socks wet.

6. The worst thing is the bed (which are twin beds) are like rocks. I was sore and in pain from sleeping on these beds.

7. The heat didn't work. It didn't work the first day when we told them about it, the second day either, the third day either when they said they would send someone to look at it, the fourth day when they said they didn't know if they could fix it, the fifth day when they gave us a space heater. It was an unusually cold February too.

The good:
1. The breakfast room was quite nice and the lobby was ok although they were painting the ceiling while we were there. We got the breakfast included in our price and it was a nice selection and a great way to start the day.

2. The staff were all nice and tried to be helpful.

3. Other than the poor drain in the bathroom, the bathroom was very nice with a nice deep soaking tub and rainshower head.

Something to take into consideration:

The location is great if you are doing a convention at the local center (15 minute walk) or if you want to be outside of Barcelona. This is not even considered Barcelona. The metro is a 10 minute walk and easy to use. But if you are a tourist DO NOT stay here, you will have to take the metro to get any where.

Room Tip: some the rooms are larger and try to get one that actually has a window out to a street.

Visited just after new and had a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Staff were extremely helpful and all spoke perfect English (unfortunately the same cannot be said for our Spanish).Location is certainly not central, but only around a 10-15minute metro (station around a 10min walk away) ride from most locations. No disturbances at all, in fact, heard very little outside the room. Hotel was a 30 minute walk from the Nou Camp (definitely advisable if possible on match days!). Only complaint was that breakfast was rather a lot - but I guess you often find this in hotels!!

Paid €135 for 3 night, which was about as much as we had paid for a Travelodge in Madrid for the three days previously. Would definitely return again

Like many of you reading this I was a bit concerned about the negative comments about the location of this hotel, but I decided to save some money as I didn't feel a 20 minute metro trip from the hotel to the centre was a big issue. So, my lady and I have just returned from a long weekend in Barca and we both can highly recommend the hotel and Barca.

THE HOTEL

Modern (2009) with a boutique feel it's a little gem down a rather dull side street as it blends in alongside apartments with it's privacy glass frontage and a bright welcome. Nice minimalist trendy decor, helpful staff swift check in.

Room was in the first floor and was well appointed. Not that big around the bed but a large King Size bed, nice bathroom and walk in shower, safe and stocked mini bar and hairdryer in the bathroom. One criticism is that the room had no kettle or hot drink making facilities.

Wifi in room was free and ok, not that strong a signal and cut out every 2o mins or so and regular buffering. In reception there is a fast desktop for internet access which is free to use. Air con in room too.

We never ate breakfast in the hotel so cant comment except to say there are several cafes around the hotel where a decent coffee, pastry is about 3 euros.

DISTANCE TO CENTRE

5 mins to Metro and then about 15 minutes to the Catalyna near the main tourist centre near Las Ramblas. Metro is fast and efficient and no need to change trains en route to the centre. If you are not prepared to walk to the station, up and down station stairs to and from the platforms etc then maybe this hotel isn't for you.

The area of the hotel is a bit tatty in most with many residential side streets, but whilst it looks a bit run down its a typical city surburb with several shops and cafes and the odd restaurant. I would not recommend a meal in the area but fine for snacks, breakfast and a drink. Note they don't stay open that late circa 11pm ish. There are plenty of cashpoints and mini supermarkets around if you need anything.

DIRECTIONS TO HOTEL AND FROM AIRPORT

Assuming you are not getting a taxi to the hotel.

1. Head to the Renff train station about a 10 min walk from arrivals

2. Buy a T10 ticket to give you 10 journeys for only about 9 euros. You can share it with your partner/friend too.

3. Get off train after 3 stops at Sant Estacio which is a mainline juncture with the Metro. Journey from airport to here is about 20mins.

4. Then head for the Metro and Blue Line 5 to station Placa de Sants which is one stop down. Change here to the redline L1 and go to station Santa Eulialwhich is nearest to the hotel.

5. On exiting the station keep left down the ramp and then sharp left down the steep tree lined road with shops either side. When at the bottom turn left and walk along for about 3 minutes and then look opposite side of the road for the Chinese restaurant and the street turning for Buenos Aires is the next after it. cross the road and walk down this street across the junction and the hotel is on your left.

When you first come out of the station it may look a bit if a dump, scruffy road, tatty shops and graffiti everywhere, but we never felt threatened by any dodgy people at all, its fine. Note there are no taxis outside the station and unless you have masses of luggage you wont need one.

Cafe recommendation - cross road from hotel entrance then turn right around the corner and walk down past the park and on the corner further down is a lovely clean cafe with good snacks and drinks its right opposite the big building which is the Radio Station.

Room Tip: I think all rooms face the front but the road isn't that busy or noisy, even with the wondow ope...
