“Fantastic base without actually staying in Disneyland”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2013 via mobile

We stayed in the Dream Castle Hotel in July 2013 for the weekend with our 5 year old daughter. We were met with 2 thrones in the hotel lobby which our daughter thought was great. The reception staff were very polite and helpful and our family room was very spacious and clean. The beds were not as comfy as our own but they were not uncomfortable. We stayed bed and breakfast and the food was varied and tasty and we all found plenty to eat. The hotel was only a 5 minute shuttle bus tide to Disneyland and the buses ran every 15 minutes and picked up and dropped of at the hotel entrance. All in all this hotel was ideal for us for location and accommodation. The grounds were spectacular with amazing views. Without actually staying in Disneyland, you cant get a nicer hotel for your disney experience.

Atrocious. Bad service, shoddy rooms, fag ends and cans in stairwell, broken sink, broken mirror, mouldy showers. Pool like a council facility not a nice hotel. everything is charged extra and is extortionate pricing. Don't ruin your Disney visit by using this hotel.

Well, we enjoyed our stay. Check in was a little slow and confusing as they two lines that went to the same desk. The room was lovely, spacious and clean with quite a good view over the front of the hotel. The windows opened inwards giving a balcony effect. We opened them wide one night, enjoyed a bottle of wine and watched the disney fireworks. Breakfast was nice but... you did have to go early! We went 10am one day and it was chaos but we sat outside. The staff were all lovely and helpful. We enjoyed the pool, again you just have to time it right, brilliant idea of putting a code in for the locker. Take your room key with you to access the changing rooms. If you want to save some time, get off the shuttle bus at the Explorers Hotel next door as this is the first stop, The Dream Castle is not the second stop. We found it a pain having to use lifts all the while until a member of staff showed us some stairs so we just used to run up and down those. We took the shuttle bus to Disney, the train is located there. We got a one day ticket and went to the Eiffel Tower.

This was our 2nd Time staying at the dream castle and to be honest it's a very nice, clean hotel. Our check in was a lot smoother than last time as our room was ready and we had a family room which was a nice size for my husband and 2 year old. The hotel is very clean and the breakfast is good. The pool is a great added bonus and the playground and children love if here. The shuttle bus runs regularly so no worries about getting to and from the park. If I have one "gripe" it is the safety of the shuttle bus during peak time. People push and barge and the bus takes more than the capacity that is allowed. Our driver struggled to see around the corners as people were blocking the doors. With so many young children on board I would like to see this changed. This is only an issue at peak season as we did not experience this during our last visit but it did concern me the amount of people that cram on the bus. Otherwise really enjoy this hotel

Our stay at Dream Castle was not what we expected, overall the experience was of a 2* hotel not a 4* "experience" hotel.
From the long check-in lines to the inadequate number of hotel staff for the number of guests, we realised that the hotel was a "rip-off" and not good value for the hefty price tag.
The bedrooms were small and had a musky smell and never felt very clean. The personal hygiene of the cleaning staff was questionable as they left a strong bad odour in the hallways.
For breakfast there was a queue with waiting time up to 30 minutes. When we finally got a seat in the chaotic buffet hall, the setup led to there being no order and children running all over the place. The food choice was good but the quality was poor.
The hotel has a ridiculously slow wi-fi for free but then offer you a "high-speed' one for 9EUR per day! If you want to use the internet you really have no choice but to use the 9EUR one (which is still slow) as the free one does not work at all!
We had a kids meal and a coca cola in the bar whilst we were waiting to check in which came to EUR22!!
All of the kid-friendliness comes in the form of cheap amusement rides that charge EUR2 each time.
I would not recommend this hotel as the best thing about it was the shuttle to Disney and Val d'Europe!

Having read the reviews on here I was a bit sceptical about some things, but forewarned is forearmed as they say.
Overall we had a great stay, the buffet dinne, whilst a little pricey, was excellent. A great variety of good quality food and plenty of food the kids liked ready to hand. You would pay a lot more for so much food in a restaurant.
Many reviews mentioned breakfast queuing. We found that if you went before 8 it wasn't so bad. Once day we got there last and the queues had started and they stayed until breakfast closed at 11. We ended up going in just before 11 when it was a complete bun fight to get food. The breakfast was good though and as long as you got there early enough it was fine.
Some reviews mentioned queuing at reception. We didn't have to queue much as all and found reception to be very helpful at all times.
Our room was clean and pleasant - the kids loved the bunk bed.
We booked transfers from airport to the hotel and from the hotel to paris. On both occasions the person was not there as they should have been but once I called the hotel it got sorted quickly.
Other things it might be helpful to know in advance: Go in the pool in the middle of the day when it is quieter, set a budget for the machines and stick to it, people fairly openly pack up a snack at breakfast to eat at lunch, advance book disneyland paris as it costs a lot more to book when you are there, disney land paris does not allow you to take in any food at all, there is a cash machine in reception, take towels from the room down to the pool or you have to pay to use the gym's towels, one day at disney land probably isn't enough. Plan to go to the closing ceremony at 11pm - we didn't but apparently it is amazing.
The hotel has lots to do for the kids - pool, playground, the machines, lake, ball pool

We spent 4 nights in this hotel. When we arrived we left out luggages in the laggage room (so we don't waste time) and went to Disneyland to see the light show at 11pm and did not return before midnight. There are lots of things for children to play with in the reception area. The rooms are very big, a big double bed and also bunk beds on the side and still lots of space to move around. The towels all clean. For breakfast you name it and you find it!! Pool area was very clean and children really enjoyed the slide. We never waited more then 5 mins for the shuttle to and from Disney and it was mid August with thousands of people running around. Will definitly go again to this hotel.
