My family stayed at Citea Magny le Hongre Marne La Vallee from 28th October, 2011 until 4th November, 2011.
For the money charged the accommodation was very basic. No coat hooks, no towel hook or rail in the downstairs toilet and a mirror in only one bedroom. Lighting was generally poor and lightshades in one bedroom and the kitchen had melted.
Our family included a baby under 1 year and 5 adults. We realised immediately that there were not enough plates, mugs, knives and forks for our whole party – but what concerned us most was the baby. The baby’s bottles had to be sterilised both night and morning – for which we needed a microwave. To heat the baby’s food we also needed a microwave. On the day of our arrival I explained this at reception but no, - we could not have a microwave– these were for small apartments only. We spent the next few days taking the baby’s bottles to the breakfast room and sterilising them there – both night and morning. Heating the baby’s food was equally difficult. We had to boil water on the hob and then insert the baby’s dish into the boiling water and wait for it to heat up.
French friends were also staying over the weekend. Their apartment had both an oven and a microwave. I asked at reception again on Tuesday 1st November – Could we please have a microwave? The situation with the baby was thoroughly explained. The people at reception were sympathetic . The English speaker said that they would bring a microwave to our apartment the next morning. The French speaker said that it was not possible. He did not appreciate that I understood what he was saying.
The microwave did not arrive and we continued to struggle for the rest of our stay.
Our first experience of Citea Magny le Hongre Marne La Vallee has been poor and I regret making the booking. Our lives were made especially difficult.
