Very near downtown area. Across sands and macau fishermans wharf.
Good price. You can just go to sands casino across the street and have a free shuttle to the cotai area, ferry termina and airport!!!

When to Macau in January 2012 with my wife. Choose the Hotel from the Agency at the Airport. Agency directly get your money and make reservation. Agency said we can get bus to Waldo from bus station but it came after 30 minutes. If you chose this place, it's better to take taxi or get bus to Sands that not far from Waldo. All the buses to Hotels are free so don't mind to sit in different hotel bus if you booked at not big hotels like Waldo. Because there are not so many buses to catch you. You might wait 30 minutes. Free breakfast buffet at the Hotel doesn't included in the fee but price and location was good for us. There 2 island( Macau,Taipa) connected by bridge. Waldo stated in Macau and it's very near from Airport. Shops, museums, temples are mostly stated in Macau. Basically sightseeing are in Macau Island. Only stayed at the Hotel one day. Check in and Check out were so quick, all the receptions are very helpful. There's casino at every hotel but Casino of average hotels such Waldo are not big. Dealers of the Casino can't speak in English and call managers every time you ask anything from Dealer. there were no Slot machines, some tables of Baccarat and others. I couldn't find Roulette, craps and Blackjack in Casino of Waldo Hotel. But you can go to Sands hotel which one of the biggest of Macau and it located only 200 meters from Waldo. Also you can take bus from Sands hotel to Venetian without fare. Bus goes between Venetian and Sands all the time so that you can get bus in every 10 minutes. Fisherman's Wharf which located beside Sands Hotel is not far from Waldo.

The Waldo Hotel is located at a 5 minute distance from the airport. The hotel does not have a pool which was quite a let down, since we werent informed of the same at the airport when we booked it. It cost us (2 people) an average of HK$ 800 per night per room. the hotel itself is nice, clean and has all the basic facilities for an overnight stay. It however, took half an hour to get into the room as the lock would not work. After much to and fro with 8 staff trying to open the door, we were offered another room. the highlight was when my friend got backto the hotel earler than I did and was refused entry as the room was booked in my name. she had paid the advance and still wasnt allowed to enter. All in all I would recommend it only if you are going to have a night out in town and not stay in the hotel for long.

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights, not a very good experience for our first trip to visit Macau. The room was very very old and full of bad smell, the bed was bad. Staff was not friendly. We been travel a lot in budget hotel. I have to say this is the most expensive and bad experience one for us.

We stayed New Years Eve, and as the booking was late, there was little choice and it was very very exepnsive. The check-in was fine, we even got into our room early, which was a bonus. However, the rooms, whilst clean, are in need of an update. The carpet was stained and needs to be replaced. Breakfast was a disaster, very little choice, the staff do not speak English, and do not know how to cook fried eggs.

If you can't sleep well, then there is no value for money anymore. The most basic is not in place. The bed mattress is extremely hard. I had to turn from side to side as it felt my bones. Like sleeping on a wooden floor. The pillows are huge and hard too.
I have asked to talk to the GM and left my card. Needless to say ... he probably did not even get my card from the front desk. On the last night the duty manager had mercy and upgraded me to a junior suite (much better room) and that was the first night I could sleep throughout the night. (thank you).

On the paper this hotel should have been a fantastic value for money. The hotel is recently renovated in a good location. For a very attractive rate, sometimes, one is willing to "suffer" technical service". This service was below technical. Zero smiles and no connection. Language is a barrier and again - BAD BED.

If you think that you have a free wireless internet? forget it, you have to pay HK$ 120 a night.
Upon checkout, the staff did not care how I felt. They could offer to wave the internet charges, to send feedback. In COD for example, you get free internet even if you just visit.

When you enter the elevator, you get a strong smell of smoking.

This hotel needs to pick up the basics of hospitality - comfortable sleep and smiling service. Unless you get a deal that includes a room with the comfortable mattress, you might want to explore other hotels.

I am lucky to find amazing friends and hosts in Macao so despite the bad hotel I left Macao extremely happy and grateful for my local friends.

The staff at the breakfast buffet was extremely rude and the front office has forgotten to smile...great room with view but service industry is all about service and courtesy....need to learn from the big chains world wide....
