“Above Expectations. Rooms taking care of slightest and smallest needs.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

I stayed with Venetian Resort Macau in the month of December 2014. The stay was overall above expectations.

The complimentary resorts buses are available at Macau Taipa Ferry terminal and Macau Airport.
The check in was a little time taking, but it is expected out of a resort with 3000 rooms.
Extensive details and explanations about the resort were provided upon my check in.

The luggage took some time to reach the room and a couple of calls had to be made to the reception for the same.

We got a free upgrade to Bella Suite as Royal Suite was unavailable.

The room was based on italian architecture with a lobby area and two queen beds. The minibar had quite a number of options. The slightest things such as the coat brush, shoe lifter, etc were taken care of.

As the concept is italian, there are no latches in washroom. Thought it was big enough with full size bathtub and running hot and cold water. A separate shower area was also there.

Outside the window was the view of venetian building only. There were two televisions and big window.

The major shortfall of the room was room service. You ask for something and then they need to be reminded again and again for the same.

The international calls from the room phone were unreasonably expensive. HKD 45 per minute to India.

The resort has a heated swimming pool, but with depth of 4 ft only.

The resort has shuttle services to many other resorts and important places in the city so you do not have to spend on taxi.

The casino is just another casino, nothing special there.

On exits of venetian, one exit leads to Galaxy and other to city of dreams. There is no market, seven eleven, or any other stores in the vicinity, Only the big brands are available for shopping.

There are two restaurant options for breakfast. One was cafe Deco (suited for Non-Indians) and other was "I Forgot Name" which was quite indian-ised in terms of breakfast.

Nice spacious rooms at comparatively good prices. Ventian remains in my list of recommended resorts. :-)

Room Tip: Take high floor rooms for good views. and try to take room near lift or you will have to walk a lot...

the hotel is still nice after 7 years of near 100% occupancy usage in this hustle and bustle city with all the gamblers from the region. The Malaysian girl who checked us in was very helpful and staff in general were courteous. it was a very crowded and noisy place.

The room at the Venetian was very nice as was the resort. There was a lot of Holiday decorations and the Winter Wonderland going on. At times you could hardly walk through the place because of all the tours groups unloading people who would crowd in to gamble, shop, and take pictures. It became a little "zoo" like. We did enjoy the free shuttles to different areas and were able to get were we wanted to go in Macau without the use of taxis. Shopping in "Venice" was much like Las Vegas but I thing that the gondola ride was more enjoyable here in Macau. If you want Wi-Fi there you need to pay extra. We felt that we were paying enough so short trips to Starbucks in the Old Town across the street and past the park. (about 1/3 mile). Good things to shop and snack on in the Old Town too!

Room Tip: I think that all the rooms are probably very good.

The room is spacious but there are lots of chinese tours hurrying into the hotel. That makes the hotel too crowdy. And you may sometimes get lost when you need to go through the mall to find the hotel lifts. Nevertheless, the hotel does provide many fascinating performance and this really makes our trip memorable. Besides, there are shuttle buses to several hot tourist spots and this is very user-friendly.

Room Tip: choose high-floor

Venetian is a good location with easy access to many entertainments, restaurants and shopping. My husband and I had stayed here for 1 night and was amazed with the hotel. We made the booking with the hotel website directly and was notified by hotel to reply with the pre check-in form. This was really great as we got advanced express check-in on the day itself which save up time and fuss. The reception staff was very helpful and explained clearly on the hotel area with map. The room was very luxurious and spacious for the price it charged. Really delighted with it. The only unpleasant encounter was staff at concierge was rude and did not apologize after knocking me with luggage bag, Room service pricing was on high side, however, the food courts close late which can solve late night cravings. Do note this is a hotel/casino that was very crowded with countless tourist coming down from tour buses.

Rather than focus on the Venetian itself, which was absolutely amazing and had great service (I have to assume the people who criticized their service are either unlucky or extremely picky), I want to focus on the alternative, and why I think these kinds of resorts work so well and will continue to improve in places like Macau. We stayed for one night, and spent most of our first day sight-seeing and food-tasting on Macau peninsula with my girlfriend's friends who live nearby, and the second day exclusively in the Venetian. One thing we noticed that was universal everywhere we went in the peninsula was that the entire service industry of Macau outside of the casino resorts is quite possibly the rudest in the world. Waitresses leaving mid-sentence during your order only to get your order wrong, cooks throwing food together on a plate haphazardly and spilling liquids all over the sides of containers, not apologizing for overcharging, yelling at customers to sit down more quickly (and no, not a friendly Chinese "kuai zou", but actually yelling angrily before you even have a chance to take your jacket off or find a seat), you name it, Macau has hands-down the worst customer service of any place I've been to. I really don't understand why, considering the casino resorts tended to have incredible service (probably the result of intensive training), and the casino economy bringing so much money into the city. Hong Kong wasn't like that. Furthermore, while Macau peninsula is small, it can still be quite tiring walking around, especially if you don't have a planned route or appropriate footwear. The weather is also incredibly humid. I've lived in humid weather before, but sheesh, it felt like I was drinking the air outside. While there were nice things to see and do outside of the resorts, in retrospect I honestly don't think any of them were worth the walk or putting up with horrible service.

The Venetian on the other hand, was significantly more expensive than I had originally hoped to pay for, but I really don't regret our stay there. The service was spot-on, the casino was a world wonder in and of itself, and there were lots of performers, shows and other opportunities for entertainment as well. The beds and suites were super comfortable, the bathrooms were well-appointed and functional, and the consolidation of shopping opportunities were great for my girlfriend who wanted to wait for Hong Kong but couldn't resist making purchases when they were so close to our hotel room. The rewards card is kind of slow in giving points, but we did get a decent discount on ferry tickets, so that was nice. There were lots of good restaurants, and the Lord Stow's egg tarts were heavenly, so I can't imagine those of the original bakery would be any better (we ran out of time to go to the original location as we intended).

Overall, I think our first day there would have been much better spent in the Venetian, and we didn't even get to try the pools or mini-golf as planned because of how much time we spent just walking around the peninsula. The resort experience is really Macau's strength, not so much the individual sites or restaurants scattered about for you to hunt down and realize how rude the service is. Compared to the alternatives, I would recommend just spending your whole time in the Venetian, maybe venturing out across the street to the City of Dreams for a show at most.

Room Tip: Book directly on their web site for free WiFi. They also have frequent sales on there, so check ofte...

I stayed in this hotel in November 2014. It was a two night stay. The hotel is too big to remember the paths and locations in hotel. its just amazing...you find yourself lost manytimes , in absence of hotel map & guide. the stay is very luxurious and comfortable. Bathrooms are beautifully made. Staff is courteous and helpful all the times. casino is grand and it has tables for all type of limits.
Canal is mesmerizing connecting hotel lobby and shopping area. Over and all one should must stay in Venetian for at least a night if one is in macau.
