“convenient, quiet and relaxing hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2012

The Grand Waldo hotel has a quite convenience location. It takes like 15 minutes on foot from the Taipa. We also walked to the Galaxy hotel, which is just opposite to the Grand Waldo and used the shuttle bus service there. It is much quieter than the Galaxy, which always has flux of tourists.
The buffet breakfast is ok and the swimming pool is quite satisfying! It's really an excellent hotel, considering to the price!

Twas my 1st time to Macau, several for my hubby. Went there for his golf tourney that's why th accommodation was reserved ahead of time. Twas situated the lst hotel at the far end of Taipa. Good thing twas jz a block away fr Galaxy Jotel wher there's th shuttle buses avail to Macau area, etc. The rooms are fairly small, bathrooms, too. The hallway smells smoky and quite scary cuz f the dark colored motif. But, at least most of the staff speaks English. Buffet's terrible. Well, maybe cuz I do not prefer the Chinese noodles, pao, congee. I prefer American bfast, w/c was hardly American. Wouldn't stay there next time

Last June, my husband and I and a couple friend visited Macau. We checked -in in this hotel. As usual I chose to get a room with the harbour view. Unfortunately, to my disappointment there was nothing much to see. The hotel is rather simple compared to its neighbors in Co Tai. Some part were under construction or perhaps renovation. Need to go to the lobby for WI FI. Complimentary buffet breakfast was good though. Casino is rather small

Room Tip: Maybe choose a deluxe room

What a beautiful Hotel, we would reeomend it to anyone. Wife & I decided to splurge a bit & we`re so glad we did. We booked online & got a great package for a v.g. price.
A free drink & some local food for afternoon tea on arrival & probably the best buffet breakfast We`ve ever had, the next morning.
We also had a beautiful buffet dinner there, magnificent.

Agree this doesn't deserve the 5 star designation. It's seen better days and is dwarfed by the newer complexes surrounding it. The clientele is not as "money" as the others either. However, it is cheap and it's got everything you need. Rooms were clean and spacious. Great shower. The breakfast buffet which was included in the room was awesome with lots of options. The casino is tiny compared to other hotels. The hotel is within walking distance to the Galaxy and you can hop on their shuttles and get ANYWHERE.

Overall, a bit dated but good bang for your buck.

We traveled as a family group, and occupied four rooms.

The breakfast buffet is good, catering to both western and oriental tastes.

Although out of town, the free shuttle bus will get you to the ferry terminal easily, and by shuttle hopping you can get to most places free. If you need to take a bus or taxi these are cheap and easy to catch.

While in Macau do take in a show at one of the casino/hotels, we saw "The House of Dancing Water" and it was a really memorable performance.

The Macau Tower is well worth a visit, from the 61st floor you can bungee jump, or take a walk around the outside of the tower, or if you prefer watch other idiots doing so!
