“Portuguese Macau”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2012

Over crowded area. For sure interesting if you've never been to Europe. If you have; you get the impression of European influence but ruined by having thousands of people around and 'Chinesed' feeling with typical shops everywhere and laundry hanging out windows etc. the cathedral was worth a look though.

“Macau City Center”

Not that spectacular... would have hoped "more" cultural et artistic related activities. Shopping is boring downtown...

“Great for people watching”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2012

We spent a few hours wandering around the Portuguese Historic Centre, which made a nice change from the normal environment in Asian cities. Very nice views from the Old Fortress although a bit of a hike up the hill to get there. I must admit we found watching the Asian visitors in their clamour for photographs and the hubbub of incessant chatter as intriguing as the buildings themselves.

“Asian Portugal”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2012

Have been here a few times and its always nice.
Best to ask your cab driver to take to the ruins of St Pauls and from there walk down through the small winding streets. Look left and right as you go and you'd swear you were in a Portugese town (apart from the thousands of Chinese locals).
Try a Portugese Egg Tart from one of the many shops selling them. Pretty good.
Give the pork crackling slabs a miss unless you have a powerful constitution.

“Busy but interesting!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2012

A good way to spend the day learning more about Macau. We followed the walking tour around the main sights, bring good walking shoes with you! It was very busy at some points but it is easy enough to slip away down some side streets to explore without getting lost!
