“Tourist attraction in Macau”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2013

The walk from Senado Square to the Ruins were an experience itself. Try out the many free food sampling and famous Portugese Egg Tarts. The Ruins were a nice place to visit but it can get really crowded especially during the weekends. There is a souvenir shop located nearby bit more pricey compared to the souvenir shop at the museum upstairs but more variety.

“Its just a ruin.....”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2013

Nothing much to see. I am still wondering what is so interesting to look at. Its next to the Musuem thats I popped by. Everyone was busy taking a photo with the ruin as a background which I think if not, you have not been to Macau. Had some portugees egg tarts from one of the stalls at the bottom of the stairs, quite good.

“vintage”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2013

The cathedral itself is nice. They were able to preserve the facade, as well as the surroundings, it gives you a quick travel back to the past. However, I'm expecting more because churches in the country I came from is not as modernized as this one. There are also lots of souvenir shops and food stalls along the area. You should try the free food tasting of what they offer and make sure to haggle before purchasing anything in souvenir shops.

“Religious experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2013

I visited with my husband and had no idea what to expect. All that's there is the facade of the old Cathedral and a great view. What surprised us is that we could go underground to a section of the old cathedral and in there were row of drawers of old bones from past priests/bishops, etc. had to be quiet, no photos allowed, I remember it being cold then feeling hot and claustrophobic. There was a lot of old religious icons and heirlooms on display in the next room. I couldn't believe that it was all free!

the most well-known tourist attraction of Macau hence there's lots and lots of tourists. A nice place if not for the numbers of tourists. worth travelling there for a view.
