“Nice and comfortable hotel at Taipa Macau”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2013

This is a nice hotel at Taipa Macau, but of course not comparable with those newly build 5-star Casino hotel nearby. It is a small scale hotel one but the room is quite big. Seems renovated, the room is clean and tidy, sufficient to store large luggage. The Chinese Restaurant is very good serving dim sum in afternoon. Highly recommend this hotel for budget travellers.

Charged me for damage I didn't do... accused me and treated us terrible the entire trip. Very rude staff and a very low end hotel, at bad price.

All we were looking for was a good time with my father and instead a sad experience.

Was in Macau for a Business trip, all of the hotel at Macau main area (Taipa) was full.. so we decided to stay at grandview, based on the reviews from couple of traveller's web. Decent hotel, clean, friendly staff (at the lobby area)..and the pricing was average. I think the location is great, we can go every where buy local bus, that basically takes us everywhere, the route is not confusing at all.. after working hours we ate local food at the small restaurants surrounding the hotel.. the food is awesome!! we had the same breakfast everyday at this small sandwich store behind the hotel, cant remember what its called.. but ill show you the picture, it got fried eggs, chicken, cheese, etc for the sandwich, simple but tasty! Wouldn't mind to go back to Macau and stay at the same hotel! well done...oh, not much ppl there knows how to speak english, so prepare your body language, its so much FUN!

Room Tip: ask for the newly renovated ones

My family stayed here for 1 night in December 2012. Rooms were clean and neat. We couldn't tell if the meal variety was repeated but our breakfast was enjoyable, with a great variety of food. The selection included : porridge, bacon, bread, fried noodles, hard boiled egg, chicken sausage, steamed pork buns (char siew bao) and fruits. The food was tasty and fresh, except that the sausage was a bit cold. There was free wi-fi, but only in the lobby area. Location is quite good, as it is situated just beside local shops and food stalls. However, the view from the hotel is not great, and bit messy. Overall, it was a comfortable and pleasant stay.

Hi,

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights en route to Hong Kong during mid Nov'12. I had pre-booked the hotel through booking.com and got a very good deal. This hotel is located in the Taipa island and is on the main road. Therefore, you have very easy access to varied means of transportation.

Check in was timely and without any problems. Initially it looks like a small hotel but is quite large. Our room was small but was comfortable with nice bed and other furnishings though the carpet had many spots. As I got a good deal, i did not mind room being small and is comfortable enough for a small family of 3.

There is an Indian restaurant "Indian Garden" few blocks behind the hotel and is a life saver if you insist on Indian food. Restaurant is very good and serves various Indian delicacies at reasonable price.

We experienced good room service despite the challenges of language. Their reception staff as well as the concierge were polite and helpful. Hotel has a small casino if you want to spend some time. Its nothing compared to what you can witness at "The Venetian" or other large hotels but is good enough if you are value conscious.

Check out was time consuming but they provide free shuttle service to the ferry terminal and help you with the luggage. Overall a very good budget hotel at an excellent location.

Room Tip: Take room on higher floors as you get exclusive access to these floor and will not see many people w...

The Grandview should be rated higher than it is in comparison to another we stayed at in Macau. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were well equipped. Plenty of lifts made it easy to access all areas. There is a gaming room or two if you are that way inclined. The breakfasts varied. For two days we had Chinese style breakfasts which did not cater completely to our taste. A Western style breakfast is quite good. The personnel at the desks were very helpful. With WiFi there in the Lobby and Dining areas, access was good for communicating with family overseas.

We had room 1404, it was clean and comfortable, featured fridge with very small selection of drink, flat screen tv with many channels, electric kettle and tea ( no coffee ) and hair dryer, bath freebies incl.comb and toothbrushes with toothpaste. The shuttle from the ferry terminal is every hr, not 30 min as the web site states. We arrived the day of the Grand Prix and shuttle buses were staged away from the terminal. Not finding their bus we took a cab about $50 hkd. We really like the location because you can walk to one of the many small places to eat around the block as well as the 3 supermarkets nearby. The hotel is on a bus stop, the Jockey Club. Bus 26 and 33 run thru old town, 26 goes to the bottom of the island. The Galaxy, Venetian and City of lights are a $10 cab ride away, you could take their shuttle from the ferry and cab over. The casino features a $20hkd live baccarat.
