Wow! Wow! Wow! Wow! Wow! Where should I start with the accolades for this brand new hotel. Stayed at this wonderful hotel on Sept. 25 for one night only. I really regret that I didn't stay here another day or two. It was truly a enjoyable and pleasurable experience.
As soon as the bell staff saw us they were tripping over each other to help us with our luggage. There was a long line (about 25 people) for check-in but it was cleared up very quickly. The check-in staff was very courteous and helpful and spoke very good English. The check-in staff is very attentive to your needs and tries their best to satisfy your requests. It costs nothing to ask politely! Maybe a little generosity wouldn't hurt if your request is fulfilled. I always feel that if you treat a person nicely, they would likely reciprocate.
We booked a "Club room". The Club rooms entitle you to a wide assortment of food (both Western and Asian), good quality name brand beer and drinks and other activities, all included in the price of your room. This includes full breakfast buffet, light lunch buffet, afternoon snacks, dinner buffet and free happy hour drinks. You can also lounge around their Club floor (all on the 4th floor). They have lots of comfortable armchairs, big touch screen (24" or was it 27") internet, and a few foot massage machines. The staff here was also very very helpful. The club rooms are from the 29th - 40th floors. There are separate elevators and extra security by the elevators for the club rooms.
The food in the Club level was very good and of a high quality. You do have to help yourself and pour the batter to make your own waffles. There is a very neat pancake machine where you only have to press the "OK" button once or twice and you get 2 tasty pancakes within one minute. There is a chef to cook your eggs to your liking. Food is catered to Western and Asian tastes. Fancy coffees are served all day. You can sit wherever you want and the staff is very quick to clear away the dirty dishes or to bring you your drinks. They are always asking if they can get us anything and generally very helpful. Boy, I sound like a salesman for their club room!
The standard room, deluxe room and Club room all looked the same and are furnished the same. Just check out the photos on their website. Just the benefits are different for a club room. My relatives were in a suite and it was phenomenal. It had a en-suite in the living room and the main bathroom was almost the size of our hotel room.
The rooms and furniture smelled new when we walked into our nice big room. It was well appointed (see photos on their website). We booked a non smoking room with 2 double beds and got it. The bedding was very soft and comfortable. There was free coffee and tea in the room. There was a well stocked mini fridge but things were a little pricey. There was a LCD TV with lots of English and Cantonese channels or just listen to the many music stations on various channels. We had a view of the water, the Venetian Hotel and Holiday Inn from our room. The bathroom was all marble. There was a separate glass shower stall. It had a weight scale. Toiletries included soap, shampoo, conditioner, moisturizer, toothbrushes, comb, sewing kit, etc. Even the extra toilet paper roll was neatly kept in a nice velour package. Room came with thick cotton slippers, robes, the softest towels EVER (I am not kidding), hair blower. The air conditioning was quiet. Only thing that bothered me in the room was the green light from the smoke alarm that kept flashing every few seconds. Housekeeping staff was also very attentive to our needs and provided us with extra towels and slippers right away.
Check out was a cinch. We got off the elevator on the ground floor and a staff member checked us out on the spot after checking her laptop for any extra charges.
We didn't have time to use the pool or spa. The pool was very nice and there were private cabanas. The hotel has its own free shuttle buses from the Taipa temporary pier next to the airport. Their buses are lime green in colour. It is only a 4 minute ride from the pier. You can also take the Holiday Inn bus as it is right next door to the Sheraton. There is no visa required to visit Macau but you have to go through immigration coming and going.
Service with a smile is what we got on our entire stay. Very well done Sheraton! You trained your staff very well. We WILL definitely stay there again the next time we go to Macau.
Pay extra for a Club Room for the extra benefits.
