“It's not an attraction, only a bridge open to public transportation”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2012

Honestly, that's all there is. It's a bridge that only public transportation can cross, so if you rent a car or an expat that just moved to Macau, do not drive across this bridge or else you'll get fined.

“It's a bridge, not a tourist attraction.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 14, 2012

Some bridges, like Tower Bridge in London or the Sydney Harbour Bridge are destinations in their own right, places where tourists happily go to climb up and look around.

The Macau Taipa bridge is just a bridge between Macau and Taipa, and its significance to most tourists is that you can get in a taxi and go from Macau to Taipa without having to start swimming. The only excitement you're likely to get is if you choose the wrong taxi driver and you get driven at warp speed across the bridge. There's nothing wrong with either Macau or Taipa - it's just that if you thought you'd have a wonderful experience between them, you'd be sorely disappointed.

“One of several bridges connecting Macau and Taipa Islands, not much of an attraction”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2011

The Macau-Taipa bridge is one of the three bridges built to connect the two islands, this one being the middle bridge. It leaves Macau island most directly from the old city centre area, first crossing the small, man-made Nam Van lake before leaving Macau island to cross the kilometer wide gap between the two islands, arriving in the heart of Taipa Island.

The bridge itself is not much of an attraction unless you are a bridge or architecture enthusiast and even if so, its more of a functional bridge and less of a marvel by design.
