“Hyatt's Best”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2013

so far this year its the best Hyatt Hotel ive checked in. The shopping malls adjacent to the hotel is fantastic. The meeting rooms fabulous, the food superb. The best part is the huge rooms overlooking the sea and the beautiful sunrise and the blue skies. Its close to the airport and shopping centers.. hassle free for the busy guests.

Stayed one night here during a trip to Hong Kong . Everything about the place was fantastic. Staff are well trained and eager to help and there is great attention to detail throughout the hotel . We booked a deal which included reduced price tickets for ' house of the dancing water ' which was well worth going to see and utterly spectacular .

Excellent hotel, very well located. The hotel not only has the option of great shopping and casinos in the vicinity, but also the view from the room was breath taking especially sun set and rise etc. in the silhouette of the ocean. I was in a suite and it was vey spacious and very well done. Also service was quite good

Room Tip: Suite facing the ocean

We only stayed one night in Macau, but overall, it was quite a wonderful stay. The room was big and clean, and the bed was comfortable, too! The only thing that dropped me to 4 stars, instead of 5 is the bathroom. The wall and doors were completely transparent glass! There is a wooden sliding door on the outside, but one can't be on the toilet, while someone else is in the shower. On a separate note, the front desk staff was friendly and a great big help. They assisted us in booking tickets for the ferry to Hong Kong, and they even offered to hold on to our bags for us until it was time for us to depart.

Visited again Macau and decided to stay at Grand Hyatt. Booked a club room at hyatt.com, so no special deals.
Check in can now be done at lobby level or at level 37 in the Grand club. I did it in the lobby, was smooth. Even one of the club manager came along to pick me up and show me my room.
Rooms are the same like last year. Huge, comfortable, nice view (even from the bathroom while showering). Very good beds.
The new "feature": The new Grand Club lounge is re-opened. It was 1,5 year ago at lobby level, then as "provisorium" in the Gym, now it is located at level 37.
Stunning views to all sides, nice arrangements, and good food (I do love the mini burgers, but there is much more).
Most important: The team on-site is very good. They take care of you, they take care of kids, they look after all. It is really nice. There are not many places like this.
The Grand Club team is outstanding, espec. Yolanda and Eva do a great job. It is a "coming home experience". Many hotels promise this. This team delivers.
The kitchen team can cook, really. The menu changes daily, quality is very good. More than you can expect at a club.

What I didn't like:
Location:
Is not central. Even if you go to Taipa harbour or use the busses, it is not in the center.
Lot of constructiuon work around.
Gym doesn't offer showers. You have to go to the spa. It works, but it is not so clear to understand.

What I like:
Location:
Perfect for running outside: Did a 15k run in the mountains. It is close to a "must have run".

Rooms:
Lots of space, stunning views, perfect air condition and heating, clean, quiet.

Reception:
Fast, efficient, competent, friendly.

Grand Club:
Coming home to friends. Fabulous Food.
The team is something to fall in love with.
Have visit a couple of Hyatt Clubs, but those are the best.

Mezza9:
This is a must go restaurant. I asked: Please show me what you bought today. We had a short discussion. And I got a outstanding dinner. Like in Italy.

Room Tip: as higher as better

We were really blown away by the hotel and staff. It's true that many of the staff do not speak English entirely fluently, but we didnt have any inconvenience because of it. And actually, the staff were all more than kind and helpful. Check in was super fast (using the Plat/Diamond desk was not necessary as we were helped as soon as we got there) and we were upgraded to a corner king suite on the 27th floor with views of the airport, Venetian, mountains etc and no view of the construction. And just as an aside, we really werent bothered by construction noise. The time when we noticed it most was at the pool. But the pool area is so beautiful and lush and relaxing that it wasn't really bothersome.

Anyways, the suite was huge and there was a seriously delicious anniversary truffle cake/confection on the living room table, along with a lovely note from the manager upon our arrival to the room. We were in the Grand Tower which seems to be more ideally located in terms of having a good view (and being further away from construction) than the club tower. If you have club access anyways, I might ask to be in the Grand Tower for the location. The club lounge will still be easily accessible.

As mentioned, the pool is incredibly beautiful and makes you feel like you're in some secluded resort in the tropics instead of in the middle of the hustle and bustle.

The hotel itself is beautiful and modern. We were especially happy to return to the Hyatt after walking around in the craziness that is the Venetian. There are no casinos in the actual Hyatt (which we like) but there are casinos and plenty of excellent shopping right off the lobby.

We ate in Beijing Kitchen twice (dinner and lunch) and both meals were really excellent. Service can be a little strange. When you are seated there is a bowl at each place setting. If you order multiple dishes that are meant to be eaten family style, they don't give you an additional plate or bowl. So if you order braised tofu, noodle soup, dumplings, etc, unless you ask for another bowl, you'd have to put it all in the same bowl. The first night I ordered braised tofu and cold sesame noodles so I asked for another bowl because the flavors from the tofu dish were WAY too overpowering to then put the delicate sesame noodles in the same bowl. Anyways, small detail but the food really is great here. We tried to go to Mezza9 but they were closed for a private group. So we'll have to try it next time.

The concierge arranged our ferry tickets to HK and I was able to bill that to our room. We walked through many of the hotels in Macau (including the Venetian, Galaxy, Wynn, Grand Lisboa, etc), and we didn't love any of them. From what we saw, our hotel was the most upscale, non-kitschy hotel in all of Macau and we LOVED our stay.

If we happen to be back in Macau, GH will be our hotel of choice.

Room Tip: We preferred the grand tower, on a high floor facing the Venetian (or if in a corner suite, facing e...

Grand Hyatt Macau is quite centrally located - connects to a few of the other hotels as well as Cubic through an underground tunnel. The room itself was large and quite luxurious. Everything quite new, unfortunately a bit bare for my liking but still quite up there. Amenities were great, pool was nice. Breakfasts were well stocked. I understand it is a 5* hotel with all that included, but I did feel it lacked a bit of the glamour like the hotels associated with the Venetian. The shuttle buses to other properties were a nice touch. On the downside the room was actually quite pricey when you can definitely get deals at other 5* hotels for possibly 20-30% less - but if you do have the moolah splurging here can't go wrong!
