The good stuff:
1. Casa Real has a triple-sharing room that has 3 proper single beds (not foldaways) all lined next to each other in a large spacious room.
2. Great Location - Walking distance to Yaohan, the largest department store in Macau (5 minutes) and to the Ferry Terminal (10 minutes) and to Sands, one of the largest casinos (10 minutes). The Ferry Terminal has shuttle buses of every major hotel waiting at the road side for passengers to arrive. You really don't need to take cabs at all as the hotel shuttles go straight to Wynn, even Grand Waldo (Cotai) and Westin (Coloagne). Great way to save money!
The bad stuff:
1. No view - Perhaps bad luck but the tiny window at the corner of the spacious room just peers out to the adjacent building.
2. Toiletries are very basic. Seems to be a trend with all 3-star / 4-star hotels in Macau.
3. Unwelcoming room - Felt that the rooms were quiet, cold and drab, as the furniture / carpet was dated and dull (in browns). I didn't like coming back to my room every night as I just felt that the room was cold, almost haunted (can't explain why). Nothing unusual happened during my stay but I was quite glad to check out after 2 nights. When another reviewer mentioned about the "haunting", I'm not surprised at all.
Recommendation:
I've stayed in 4 hotels in Macau now. I would strongly recommend Beverly Plaza (near Lisboa) and Grand Waldo (on Cotai) but not so much Casa Real and Emperor Hotel, which are just OK.
