Very good food and VERY VERY good service. It was easy obtaining a last minute reservation and it was largely empty the night we went to I’m not sure if it’s lost some of its local lustre with the rapid growth of Macau, but it was a terrific experience.
The wine list is a tome; I mean massive. Many great selections in a variety of categories. Their fresh breads are to die for. Some of the best bread I’ve had outside Europe fresh-baked. The menu is broad enough for a variety of tastes but not so large that the chef would lose control of quality. Just right.
The dessert trolley was awesome. Many quality selections but their signature (sorry can’t remember the name) layered crisp pastry filled with cream was wonderful.
Through it all, the service was impeccable. Terrific by any international standards
Any negatives? – not really. Perhaps the odd architecture does make for a strange place to put such a wonderful restaurant but the hotel design was not their choice. Much of modern Macau tends to have a ‘Blade Runner meets Dr Seuss’ feel to it and the ultramodern latticework ceiling in the restaurant really doesn’t match the belle epoch splendour of the food and service. Well worth a try though!
