“A sense of extravagance.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2014

We visited this casino hotel way back 2010. And as I recall i was in awe. You can feel a sense of luxury and extravagance. Very grand. Very beautiful. Though a bit tacky and so so copy of the real venezia. Understandable. How can you imitate the original which is really a class in itself. A historical work of art.

“If size is everything ...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2014

A huge casino with lots of choice of tables ... but the casino spoils the ambience of the hotel ... but I guess it makes more money

“Vast site - well worth a visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2014

Myself and a friend took a 1 hour TurboJet fast ferry from Hong Kong to the Macao Ferry Terminal, then the free shuttle bus service (30 minutes) to Venetian Macao during a weekday afternoon.

Venetian Macao is a vast site spread over several storeys. It is built on reclaimed land on the Cotai Strip, which joined the two islands of Coloane and Taipa.

Pros:
-Free shuttle bus from/to Macao Ferry Terminal. Shuttles run 9:30am-midnight, every 5-15 minutes.
-Well-maintained premises. Spotlessly clean.
-Indoor attraction - it was pouring with rain outside.
-Free 'Shoppes Directory' (map/directory) of available.
-Hotels, mall with over 600 'Luxury Duty Free Shops', gondolas, food court, casinos. Shop categories include audio-visual, confectionary, cosmetics & skincare, department stores, fashion, health & medicine, jewellery & watches, leather goods, children, sports & sportswear, cafés, food court, restaurants & lounges, banks & services.
-Dreamworks 'All Star Parade' daily at 3pm.

Cons:
-Crammed with people, even during a weekday.
-No WiFi.
-Gondola = Adult MOP$118 per ride, child MOP$88 per ride. Private gondola MOP$472 per ride.
-Luxury shops = expensive.
-There was a Transformers movie exhibition (MOP$100 per person) and a future UFC fight advertised, but none of the big shows that I associate with Las Vegas such as Celine Dion, Elton John etc.
-No clocks - they don't want you to leave!

Notes:
-On entry from the shuttle bus you are funnelled towards the casinos. However, if you follow the ceiling signage you can bypass it and head for the shops. I recommend picking up a free 'Shopping Directory', as otherwise you may get lost.
-Under 21's are not allowed in the casino areas.
-I used a Visa credit card and Hong Kong $ in the food court. Change was given to me in HK$.
-It's possible to arrive in Macau from Hong Kong via helicopter if you've got deep enough pockets!
