“Good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2013

We have just returned from a weeks stay - as described by most- all staff were very friendly and helpful. Despite emailing to ask if we could be allocated an apartment on a high/ top floor we were allocated apartment. I 534 which was the 3 rd level and directly above the " entertainments pool" which wasn' t a huge problem. We did find it really irritating that all of the sun beds were "reserved" before 8am despite a policy not to. Hence we never got to use any of the pools- but considering the number of people accomodated I don t think the pools are adequate. Instead we enjoyed the privacy of our well furnished balcony. The ceiling fans did struggle as the temperature climbed and I slept everynight with the patio doors open and the fans going but it was still very hot. I wish we had paid the €60 for an air conditioning unit! We stayed on a half board basis and found the food on offer quite tasty. We thought Puerte Mogan was very pretty and low key- and spent every evening "strolling" although nearly all the bars and restaurants close at 11 pm. In all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and may return with our grandson next time!

Exceeded expectations for our family week in the sun (two kids under 7), even though it was a personal recommendation.

Nice, straightforward room; great pool; good location close to a lovely small beach framed by great variety of restaurants and bars; good breakfast (though heard from others that other meals for all-inclusive guests were a bit ropey); better than expected service, front desk especially good.

Generally really good.

Minor grumbles would be lack of aircon (ceiling fans instead) meant nights were quite hot and the lack of enforcement of a 'no reserving loungers with your towels' meant that some mornings there were no sun-loungers available by the kids pool. But these were minor, when everything else was so good.

My partner and I stayed here the last week of May 2013 and have no complaints what so ever. We emailed in advance to request a top floor room and on arrival we were happy to be allocated one. At check the staff were friendly and very helpful and the directions to our room given were spot on we found it no problem. The room was huge we had a bedroom and separate living room/dining kitchen, and large bathroom with shower over bath. The balcony was perfect for afternoon/early evening sunbathing, and being able to wind down the shade at either side of the balcony when sun got too hot was ideal. The rooms were cleaned to a high standard 5 days out of 7 and always had a supply of fresh towels.
Would definitely recommend this hotel and would return if only the resort was not as quiet in the evenings, being put out of restaurants at 1030-11 was a bit odd, not that we stay out late, we would have liked to choose whether or not we stayed out for a drink or two and most of the restaurants were very quiet sometimes only a couple of tables being occupied.

We have just returned from a week self catering at these apartments. I travelled with my 2 daughters aged 16 and 19. Accommodation of a very good standard and always clean as stated in previous reviews but quite warm at night despite ceiling fans. We had a room on the 8th floor which was very peaceful and we used the stairs a fair amount to burn a few holiday calories! Just a note to say that there are integral hairdryers in the bathrooms which are similar to those you get at swimming pools but if you prefer to style your hair, take your own. All the staff were very friendly including those on reception, however if you would like a courtesy room on checkout, request it early as the availability is limited and often several families are being picked up at similar time. All the pools are lovely and well maintained although we avoided the children's pool as it was always very busy. We ate out mostly and the food in the restaurants was of generally a good standard. We discovered the Indian restaurant in the shopping complex opposite the hotel on the last night...it also does takeaway!
We ate breakfast in the complex which was good value. We also had dinner there one night and the food was very mediocre but there was plenty available. We preferred to eat out or cook however if you have hungry children/teenagers this could be a very economical option. The snack bar paella looked very good but we weren't impressed by their other fare.
Finally we tried the 'Dr Fish' foot spa treatment on the beachfront overlooking the sea on our last day and returned home with beautifully smooth and revitalised feet!

My boyfriend and I have just returned from a one weeks stay at the Cordial Mogan Valle. Beautiful place and a beautiful hotel! When we first arrived at reception we were slightly early for check in (we arrived at 1 o'clock and check in is at 2) so the staff at reception offered us a welcome drink, stored our cases in the case room and gave us a pass to allow us to get access to the hotel facilities while we waited only half an hour for our room to be ready.

When we got into our room, we were not disappointed. After reading the reviews and viewing the pictures on trip advisor we did have high expectations and these were certainly met. Our room was on the 8th floor and had a beautiful large balcony with gorgeous views over the mountain. The balcony had 2 sunlounges and a table with 4 chairs. It got the sun for around 11 until 7 so it was a lovely option to have to enjoy the sun. As many reviews have mentioned, there is no air con, nevertheless we found the fans to be sufficient. There were also blinds on the balcony which could be adjusted to stop the sun hitting the glass doors and this really did stop the room getting so warm. The room was well equipped: kettle, toaster, microwave, hob, fridge and even had washing up liquid, cloth and drying towel. The only thing we had to pay for was the safe. This was 14 euro for the whole stay (2 euros a day) which seems pretty reasonable. The rooms were kept clean with the cleaning service 5 days a week and the towels were changed every 2 days!

There were 3 pools at the hotel, however we mainly used the infinity pool. This seemed to be the smaller of the 3 but we did not find it a problem to get sunbeds at any point (up until the last 2 days - however this could be due to the school holidays starting at the place getting overall busier). On the last couple of days, people were going to down to the pool about 7/8 in the morning and putting towels down (even although this is not allowed by the hotel) and not using the sunbeds until mid afternoon. This is the only fault which the hotel should be addressing but the loungers on the balcony do, in a way, provide an alternative to the pool so it's not a complete disaster.

The hotel is a short walk away from the restaurants and the beach and a slight bit further away from the port. The supermarket is right outside the main hotel entrance and was ideal for us as we went self catering. They had resonable prices and fresh breads and pastries on offer every day. Mogan is beautiful but quiet. Ideal for a relaxing getaway.

We did not eat in the hotel so can't comment on the food there, however we did eat out at a different restaurant every night and did not have one bad meal! Lovely to eat out while looking over the beach or the port.

Cordial Mogan Valle is an excellent hotel in a beautiful and peaceful location. All the staff we dealt with were very helpful and pleasant. This is definitely a place which I recommend and will no doubt be returning to at some point in the future!

From the moment we were checked in with a glass of cava, this place hit the spot.

Located a pleasant 10 minute walk from the beach, this huge apartment block hugs the cliffs as if hanging on for its life. It's a sprawling complex that, whilst meaning most apartments are away from reception , they're quietly located and very peaceful. Inside, you'll find everything you need for a comfortable stay. The best part however is the generous terrace that has a table with chairs, two comfy sunbeds and a shower!!

THe pools looked good but busy( the usual sunbed hoggers abound); we didn't trouble them however and preferred the privacy of our own terrace.

Highly recommended and worth double what they charge here
