“great place to stay.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 8, 2013

we have been to Mogan for the past several years but this was the first time we stayed at the Cordial Mogan Valle Apartments, We found it very clean, the rooms are a good size with all the things you need, nice big balcony with table/chairs and sun loungers, All the staff where very good and friendly, food was very good with a good choice, three swimming pools with plenty of sun loungers the top one was our favorite as it was an infinaty pool. We had room 442 which was nice and quite.
Plenty of things for the kids to do as well with little play areas for them, i would give the Cordial Mogan valle Apartments a 9 out of 10 and would recomend it to any body who wants a good place to stay.

Room Tip: rooms on the south end are quieter

Once a year we have spent in this apartment hotel and we are after 4 stays still of the same opinion that this is a first-class hotel for families and couples. We have booked two 4-weeks stay also in 2014. Excellent service in the room and the hotel in general. There are several pools and fine dining options near the hotel. A large store with a good selection of food and drink, including current Norwegian newspapers. With 15 minutes walk to the beach and very good hiking up the hill, this has become our regular vacation spot.

Room Tip: Just ask the people in the reception

We stayed at this hotel during the last week of February 2013. We had a great stay. We requested an apartment on an upper floor so we could have the sun on the large balcony for the majority of the day. We were given room 910 (top floor) which was lovely. The apartment was spacious and bright with a lovely large balcony. We had the sun from around 11am until 6pm. The cleaners were friendly and efficient, the reception staff were very friendly and helpful and spoke great english which was a bonus. We booked self catering but decided to eat in the hotel restaurant a few times during our stay as it was reasonably priced with lots of options. The head waiter was lovely. I don't need to babble on as everything is pretty much covered in the previous reviews. But I would definitely recommend going to the bbq held at the hotel, the food was lovely! Also, you must try Zona Verde, a small outdoor restaurant located close to the shopping centre on the walkway, it doesn't look that great from the front, but trust me, it's well worth a visit. The meat and fish is all barbequed and is delicious. You will have to make reservations though, but it is well worth the wait. Food was fantastic!!
My only, very slight, criticism would be that the signage around the hotel isn't very clear. It is a large hotel with a very complicated lift process to get to the higher floors. Although it is reasonably easy once you've been there a few days, on our first day we were well and truly lost as the signage wasn't exactly helpful.
Other than that small negative, we had a fantastic holiday and will definitely be returning. Puerto de Mogan is beautiful!

Room Tip: Higher floors have larger balconies and have the sun for longer

We stayed here for a week in April 2012 and were very impressed. Beautifully clean spacious apartments, attractive grounds, friendly staff and excellent food. Puerto de Mogan is at the "end of the road" from the airport, in the driest part of the island. It's a much more sympathetic development than many on Gran Canaria, with thought paid to the overall appearance of the resort. There's a good bus service to the rest of the island; we'd thought of hiring a car but didn't need to.

We booked half-board as reviews told us that it was good value compared to eating out locally. The Thomas Cook rep wasn't able to confirm that gluten-free food was available - I'm a coeliac - and I e-mailed the place but there was no reply. But on our first evening when we asked, the head chef appeared - he spoke every good English - and carefully pointed out to me which items in the extensive hot buffet were OK for me. Every breakfast, the moment I was seated a a plate of gluten-free bread, crackers, cereal and even a croissant (luxury!) appeared. The permanent grill (mornings and evenings) was great, everything cooked to order in front of you.

For self-caterers, the underground supermarket opposite the entrance is well-stocked (and has gluten-free stuff too).

Anecdote: one evening my wife and I returned from the buffet to our regular table to find it had moved a metre or so; the staff had asked our children if they could move us to make room for a large party who wanted to sit together. A few minutes later the head waiter appeared with an ice-pail and a bottle of bubbly. We hadn't ordered one; it was in thanks for being obliging customers!

We hadn't visited Gran Canaria before and would certainly consider coming again and staying at the Valle apartments.

Room Tip: Go for a high-up room in the lower level. That way you're away from the pools at the bottom and...

Having selected this location and hotel on the basis of Trip Advisor recommendations, we cannot but agree with the majority good reviews. Rather than bore folks by merely repeating what has been said many times over - and which in February 2013 is still justified, I'll content myself with a little tip which may prevent future visitors feeling a little foolish.
Returning to our apartment in the middle of thye day to spend the afternoon relaxing in the sun on our balcony we decided to do what the English often do - and make a cup of tea. The kettle would not work and so a quick call was made to Reception who promised to send up a replacement.
Half an hour later I thought - I'll put a saucepan on the hob and heat the water in that. The hob would not work!
The penny then dropped - because it was bright and light we did not need to switch the apartment lights on and so had omitted to put our room 'key' into the slot on the wall which activates the electricity supply. Card inserted - kettle springs to life. Embarrased call to reception to cancel the 'faulty kettle' replacemnt request.

Room Tip: We requested the top floor so we did not have to endure other visitors scraping heavy furniture abou...

When booking our holiday the criteria were 2-bedroom apt, heated pool and minimum 3 star-hotel in GranCanaria. The Cordial Mogan Valle turned out to be a very good choice which I can easily recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing vacation, but without late bar-nights. Previous years we've stayed in Puerto Rico (MarinaSuites, ElGreco) and in Ingles (SolBarbacan). As you can learn from the previous Mogan Valle reviews you won't get sun at the hotel until around 11 am, but when knowing this, we had cosy mornings with an ecellent breakfast buffet followed by a walk towards the beach and shopping etc at the "little-venice" and then returning to the hotel. Thanks to the HUGE balcony, living in the apt was like staying in a bungalow = you had your own privacy, the bathrooms and the fridge ;) only few steps away and the heated pool a couple stairs down. In fact we ended up to spend only one day at the beach and the rest of the time at the hotel.
Only after booking the hotel, I realized there was no air-con in the apts. For us it wasn't a problem at all (last week of Feb), and I suppose the large ceiling fans can do the cooling job in hotter season, too, Plus there are the sun covers outside the windows you can pull down for the day.

Puerto de Mogan was very nice, laid-back resort with more elderly people (Scandinavian, German, Brittish) than other places we have visited. So, if you're not looking for a party-resort, Mogan is a very good choice.

Room Tip: Ground level apts were easy acces to the main pool etc, but if you want to get sun on your own balco...
