I had requested a high floor with two rooms close together. The rooms we were given were on ground level and both were actually below the level of the pool but at least the children's room was next door to ours. I needn't have worried though, it turned out to be a positive thing. We were very close to the room from the poolside for nipping back to re-do the sun cream etc. All rooms have a balcony with dividers, and being on the ground floor I was a little worried about security, however, access to the olive garden outside our balcony was restricted by high fences. All rooms have plug in insect repellent devices as standard, but even so we were all bitten while we slept despite always keeping the insect screens closed.
The pool had plenty of sunbeds, and even in mid August there was no need to panic about claiming your spot. The pool area was quiet and relaxed during our stay, with pleasant music at a volume that was not too loud, just pleasant relaxing background noise. As for noise, there was no exuberant noisy nonsense going on to disturb the serious business of tanning! I suppose the best accolade was that there were several Greek families using the Hotel for their holidays too.
The small poolside bar was run perfectly. Very good basic food, great for breakfast and/or lunch but not intended for evening type meals. Drinks were ice cold in the self service fridge, and although not cheap, were priced about average for the resort.
The location is very good, it is quiet, but with Konstantinos, a large supermarket just up the road a little, and a couple of hundred yards in the other direction past all the main shops, bars and restaurants takes you to the beach.
The staff were excellent, and the place gives off a genuine air of being a friendly family run business.
We ate at several different places in the resort for evening meals, but the Sagittarius restaurant next door to the Marianna was all the distance you needed to travel for the best food in Tigaki.
I would thoroughly recommend the Marianna studios for families or couples looking for a relaxing clean, comfortable place to enjoy their holiday.
If I had to be picky, I'd say that the policy of only supplying one single toilet roll per visit is a bit of an inconvenience, but having said that it's easy and cheap to pick a pack up from the supermarket when you pick up the wine. Also, the towels were only changed once in the week we stayed, so we found ourselves rinsing and drying them in the sun on the balcony. Small niggles, I know.
To summarise, I would say this is a perfect hotel for those who aren't looking for the all-inclusive busy, noisy, bigger establishments. Huge positives, and teeny tiny negatives.
Ground floor rooms balcony opens onto an Olive garden with main path to beach close by. Keep curtain...
