“Lovely Break - Perfect Position”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2012

We travelled with our 15 year old son and his friend and another friend. A great place to visit and the family do look after you very well. The cleaner is fantastic and very friendly, bins emptied every day and new towels every other day. You do need air con at 85 euros per two weeks! We didn't eat at the taverna attached as we liked to 'go out' in the evenings. Drinks were cheap at the Sunshine incuding 10% discount for guests, we would all return for a drink before 'retiring to bed'.
Apatrments basic but it is Greece after all....lots of hot water before 7pm after only warm but again its Greece!
Pool table at 1 euro a game, good value as we have paid 2 euros in the past!
We would visit again.
Maybe an idea to loan/hire out bikes for guests to use? great fun to cycle to Kos town along the coast, about 45 mins cycle away.
We met some really nice people during our visit espicially Craig & Becky!!!!

This is the 2nd time my family and I have stayed here and its great. Great location, close walk to the beach and main high street, lovely friendly staff and atmosphere. We found that if we needed anything all we had to do was ask and the staff were more than happy to help us. A lovely family run establishment.

The food offered is of very good quality and I can recommend the BBQ night on a Friday, lovely. We also had a 2 year old with us who was a tad small for the pool but the staff allowed us to bring in a smaller paddling pool for her to play in. I cant stress enough if there is an issue the girls (Maria & Xenia) will do there up most to help.

Clean pool and even pool service, lovely to have a refreshing drink while poolside. Rooms cleaned daily and extra towels and pillows available if required. Overall fantastic holiday and we will be going back, can't wait.

Room Tip: All rooms we have stayed in have been good, we preferred the rooms to the rear, 10,11,12,13 only bec...

I have just returned from 2 weeks at the Sunshine Apartments in Tingaki and once again, I had smashing holiday. I don't normally return to the same accomodation but liked it so much last year, thought that I didnt need to look elsewhere. My room was huge and was very peaceful and quiet at night, the maid service is great and towels/sheets are regularly changed. Maria, Zenia and Fortis are great and cant do enough for you. If you eat in the Taverna you get 10% off and the food is really good. It's only about 3 mins from the fabulous beach and you get to see Kitsos the donkey on the way!! I must mention the Olympic Rep Tim, who was great and really helpful, although I didnt manage to get his card to keep in touch, but hey, you cant win them all! Would definitely go back to these Apartments again and recommend them to anyone

Room Tip: I had upstairs room last year facing the pool & was keen to have that again but my room was at t...

We got off to a bad start here as we were allocated to Room 1. As mentioned by previous reviewers, this must be the worst room on the complex by far. We arrived at 1am after a 2 hour delay so just went to bed but I was very uneasy about being on the ground floor at the side edge of the complex with the terrace directly on the car park. We definitely would not be able to sit there during the day and i didnt feel I would be able to relax at any time. the room itself was tiny, no way big enough for up to 4 people! So we requested to move and by the end of the day we were offered Room 2 which was still on the ground floor but bigger and with the terrace inward looking by reception. If we hadnt been able to move I would have found somewhere else in tigaki rather than stay here. As it was the beds were very uncomfortable but we were thankful not to be still in Room 1.
The complex itself seemed very popular with a mix of dutch and English families, there were just about enough sunbeds by the pool with many people staying there the whole day and just leaving their towels there even when they left the poolside for a couple of hours. The pool itself was very warm. The restaurant was a pleasant place to eat and we had some good meals there. However the staff never seemed genuinely friendly to me and on the last night asked if we had paid for the air conditionning - I had paid straightaway when we changed rooms as she had requested. Her face clearly showed tha she doubted me - not a nice parting gift for your guest!
We liked Tingaki very much. The beachfront was lovely, pretty and clean with great tavernas set back. There are some great restaurants in tigaki, especially Nisiotiko with the blue and white tablecloths. We didnt venture far but the local bus to kos town was very easy for only 2 Euros each and kos town and harbour were worth the visit. I might go back to tigaki for its laid back atmosphere and lovely beach but I would look for different accommodation next time.

Room Tip: Room 1 is to be avoided

We have stayed here with Olympic a couple of times now and compared to another more popular budget Olympic offering on the main road, these are far more superior. The kitchen facilities in the Studios are basic and perhaps it is luck of the draw whether you get a kettle - we had one last time but not this time, but nonetheless everything works and the only time we have not had piping hot water in the shower was when we were late coming off the beach and a neighbour had done a lot of hand washing!

The rooms are kept very clean and we had none of the issues that some others have commented on so I wander whether they have the right place.

As our return flight was late I booked a late room which turned out to be one of the apartments at a cost of €20 - this looked comfortable with a double bed and two singles, although the bathroom was not quite so user friendly as the toilet roll would not stay on its holder and there was not quiet as much room in the shower.
However the kitchen facilities were as others have suggested better.

The newer block towards the rear appear to be dedicated to the Dutch guests but the rooms looking out to it occupied by the Brits get the sun in the evening and the moon at night.

The Restaurant offers good meals with guests receiving a 10% discount and a desert on the house (warning if you order a desert you will have to eat two), although in Spring and Autumn as much of it is out doors it can get a bit exposed and cool after dark.

Xenia and Maria the two daughters are very friendly and attentive in the Restaurant.

Room Tip: The Studios on the ground floor towards the rear are quite and roomy and ideal for a couple.

We stayed here for ten days and although the room and bathroom were small, the bed was definitely more comfortable than those at similar properties we have stayed in Lambi and Tigaki in Kos. It was nice to have a kettle and fridge in the room and we paid about 5 or 6 euros per day for air conditioning. We were on the first floor and had a small balcony with a view of the pool. We ate several times in the restaurant, where guests receive a 10% discount ; both the food and wine were good and the service was very friendly. If you are looking for simple, budget accommodation with friendly and helpful staff, this is the place for you.

TIP - We hired some good bicycles from "Hard Moto" (walk to main street, turn right, then about 3 minutes walk on left) and found them to be much newer and better ones than those we have hired in Kos on previous trips.

This was our third visit to these apartments. We had forgotten how very basic the kitchen facilities are. Our daughter had a studio, whereas my husband and I had a one-bed apartment, albeit only about three apartments away from hers. Her kitchen area was superior to ours in terms of available workspace. However, since the only pots and pans provided were one battered once-non-stick frypan, a large saucepan and a Greek coffee pot for heating on the very small front ring (of two), that wasn't really an issue. The cutlery and crockery were tatty and mis-matched. We had to go for our showers at around 5.00pm to ensure hot water, and that was in mid-October at the end of the season. We managed to "acquire" a 2-slice toaster (bought from Asda!) to make toast for our breakfast, but did not have the facilities for anything more adventurous. Bread is astronomically expensive in Tingski - even the local brands. Do take good mossie repellant with you, containing Deet, as there is no pharmacy there and the only repellants you can buy aren't good enough. Tingaki is brilliant - it was our daughter's first visit and she can't wait to go back, but we all three said that we would never go back to the Sunshine Aartments. We had most of our meals at Dana on the seafront - fantastic food and service.

Room Tip: If you don't need a separate bedroom, you may well find a studio apartment is quite adequate, as...
