We visited Tino's twice while staying nearby, because the first visit left us swearing we'd be back! We went for a late lunch both times and the service was genuinely some of the best I've ever experienced. Our waiter not only explained things, but brought some conch out of the kitchen for me to taste after I'd asked how they prepared it. It was prepared quite well and was tender (which is a rarity and all depends on how it's pounded and cooked). My companion asked for whole red snapper but they didn't have any so a whole capitan was recommended (they had one stuffed on the wall, so we knew what it looked like). This waiter was so friendly, animated and caring that he made the whole meal an experience! The fish was really good, and so large that we took half back to the condo. The rice and beans? Best I've ever had. We asked how they flavored the beans and he brought a little dish of sofrito for us to taste! We asked for seconds on the really good margaritas, and he brought us back huge ones that time! We asked for dessert to go - no problem! It wasn't the best cheesecake, but who cared at that point.
During our fun and leisurely meal, the owner walked into the dining room to show some other diners the huge lobster he was holding and a very big capitan fish, both fresh off the boat. My companion wanted a picture of them and they let him into the kitchen, gave him the lobster to hold and took his picture too! Just way too much fun and a true local experience.
El Bohio is talked about, but see my other review. Don't waste time or money, just find Tino's and you'll be in the best of Joyuda's famous seafood restaurants.
