“Beautiful, Breathtaking Beach House”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2011

We recently booked to spend 3 nights at the Beach House but were only able to spend 1 night due to rough weather and fast boats being cancelled. However, the 1 night we did spend was amazing. From the time you arrive on Gili T, it has a vibrant atmosphere in quaint surrounds. The horse drawn carts are gorgeous and it is a pleasant change to stay somewhere without motorised vehicles. You can hire bikes and ride around the 9klm island, or take a horse and cart, or walk. There are beautiful beaches around different parts of the island. The Beach House is centrally located and our superior bungalow no. 8 was spacious, extremelly clean with great air con and bathroom and the resort facilities are lovely including the gardens and pool area. The Beach House restaurant is located on the beach with great views and the staff are very friendly. The seafood BBQ was delicious and very reasonably priced. The Beach House reception staff, especially Dian, were wonderful and very helpful prior to and during our stay. The only disappointing aspect of this trip, is that is wasn't long enough. We will definitely be back!

Room Tip: The Beach House offers a large range of rooms. We stayed in Superior Bungalow 8 which was at end of...

Although my wife and I only stayed 1 night in mid Sept 2011, however it was very memorable moment to us. We choose standard Bungalow room and their offered price is quite competitive (IDR 665.500).
In order to avoid hassles, scams and touts at Bangsal harbor, we took transfer service provided by Beach House Resort from Teluk Kodek (i.e. exclusive harbor dedicated only for Beach House, ko ko mo, Scallywags and Vila Ombak) directly to Gili T by using speedboat (it took only 15 minutes). For that service, we were charged for IDR 300k. In addition, we also used transfer service once again by using speedboat from Gili T to Senggigi area and we were charged for IDR 360k. These prices were cheaper compared to other hotels nearby.

We were given Bungalow No.10 and we loved every inch of it! The pool area, pathway to our room, lovely open-air bathroom, clean and tidy bedroom with its lighting and air con. All staffs were very helpful and friendly (especially Pak Dian who helped us for island hoping boat plus snorkeling). The only minus is no hot water available and limited freshwater, however we fully understood that the Gili was lacking of freshwater.

Next to the right side of this hotel, you can find Scallywags Resort, Traettoria Pizza and Vila Ombak, while next to the left was Tir Na Nog (the Irish pub) and mini market plus bicycle rental. You can rent the bike for IDR 50k per day or IDR 15k per hour. ATM BII and bank Mandiri was only 1 minute walking distance right in front of Vila Ombak.

Seafood BBQ at night in Beach House restaurant was very delicious, and the price is quite cheaper compared to those in Jimbaran Bay, Bali. The same also applies to breakfast, the fried rice and scrambled eggs was delicious.
Even though the party and the noise were started at night, we didn't feel or hear it since our room is far enough from the hotel upfront.
We definitely will come back to Beach House Resort....

Room Tip: Ask for Bungalow No.10 to avoid sound nuisance at night

Stayed at the Beach House in the Big Villa for 4 nights in early September with a group of friends and loved it. Very relaxing, the food at the restaurant was great and the staff were very helpful and came and cleaned the whole villa every day. Other guests have commented on the noise, we only had this issue on one night. As the party revolves around the different bars on the island Im guessing you would encounter this problem at least once no matter when you stayed. Would definitely recommend!

Room Tip: Big Villa is definitely worth the money if staying with a group - lots of room, and having a private...

Hi
Thank you for taking the time to review our resort, and we're so happy yo enjoyed your stay in the 4 bed villa

You're absolutely right about the party nights - they do move to a different bar depending on the day allocated to each bar. If you want to stay in the heart of the action, there is likely to be a noisy night. Having said that, we have brought over a specialist from Sydney who, over the next 2 days, is upgrading our system for even better music in our restaurant. He is also looking at the noise level at our neighbouring bar (which does have a weekly party) to see how he can deflect the noise from our accommodation section of the resort

However, like you, for the most part guests are understanding of the fact that they have chosen a resort in the heart of the action, and thus are part of the buzz of the restaurant and bar life

Again, we're thrilled you enjoyed your stay so much, and look forward to welcoming you beck

Upon arrival, no cars or motor bikes, just donkey and carts and bicyclesl.......room was ready, so off ot a good start, it was 4pm though. Just like the pics on internet.....Clean , tidy, beautifully presented facility throughout. We had a share plunge pool with adjoining guests, pool in shade for a lot of the day, but that didn't matter, beach was across the way in full sun! Restaurant terrific, BBQ seafood etc, very competive prices, drinks all good,. The whole Island has a great selection of different food, basic, tasty to mid range Bali prices, didn't do any fine dining, we were not there for that.Of course it goes without saying, that coming from Australia the first thing that is so noticeable in Bali and surrounds is the polite, attentive and genuine table and bar service from friendly staff! Don't get much of that in the hospitatilty industry where we come from!!!.Highly recommended for singles, families, young and old!

Room Tip: Room 12 was ours...be aware there is a double hotel room near the generator(I would avoid that) don...

We booked a deluxe bungalow with twin beds at the Beach House Resort for 4 nights. The hotel is located right in the busiest restaurant/bar strip on the island, perfect if you want a short trip home but could be a bit noisy at night. Our room was close to the front so rooms further towards the back may be quieter.

The room was large with a 'walk in wardrobe area' which was fabulous for keeping bags out of the way. The breakfast was fantastic, lots of options and delicious fresh juices. The pool area is great, however is could be a bit of a challenge to get a lounge. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Not so great - the beds only had a sheet on them so I was too cold with air cond on but it was too stuffy without. The pool bar didn't appear to be staffed/open and there were no pool towels for a few days. The bathrooms whilst a goregeous balinese style only had fresh water for rinsing from a tap. For about the same price we had fresh hot water at another hotel on the island.

All up though, a great place to stay if you're looking to be in the heart of the action.

Hi
Thank you very much for your review and we're always very happy to receive all feedback. We are really glad that overall you enjoyed your stay and recommend The Beach House

The noise issue, as a result of party nights in surrounding bars, is a problem we're currently looking into rectifying, to the extent of having brought a specialist across from Sydney to look into our neighbours' sound system. Hopefully this will reduce some of the noise impact on their particular party night

Thank you for the positive feedback on our staff, the pool area and our breakfasts. Just to let you know we are, at this very time, exploring different food options and numerous possibilities to create, in the pool bar space, a totally different poolside dining experience. By your next visit it will be well and truly up and running thanks to the fact that we've just employed, full-time, a fabulous chef from Sydney to run our restaurants (we also have ko-ko-mo) on the island

Additionally, we have now decided to upgrade all bedding and are going to be using bamboo sheets, pillowcases, duners. This product is amazing, eco friendly, dust-mite resistant, and wonderful to sleep in. So we are addressing the fact that some guests do require additional bedding, and also do always have spare blankets in housekeeping for those guests who do want additional warmth

As you say, we are in the heart of the action, and that is possibly why we are the same price as some of the smaller, more remote resorts, even though they may supply full fresh water. In our deluxe categories of accommodation we provide full fresh water, in the more standard rooms we have bore water for showering and fresh water for rinsing. We have kept out pricing competitive for this reason, and the only reason we don't supply it to all the hotel is the logistics of trying to bring enough across from Lombok on the boats to pump it through more than 100m of pipe laid across the reef in front of the resort. So our rooms, although all going through upgrades, will remain at the competitive costing

Thank you again for your relevant comments and your review in general
We look forward to welcoming you back

Beach House is a comfortable, clean place to stay on Gili T. It is near all the action and not a far walk from some nice beaches. It is also close to sunset beach. The only problem is the noise. You will have trouble sleeping here some nights as there are major parties on Gili T, some of which are literally right outside.

Hello
Thank you for your review and we're glad you enjoyed our Resort. Unfortunately, although the island is evolving and welcoming guests from all walks of life and all countries, it still does retain elements of what is was known for when it was an island with much simpler accommodations and restaurants - hence the party nights. It is impossible for hotels and resorts to control this, and for this reason we opened our sister resort - ko-ko-mo, at the end of the strip which gives guests the opportunity to still be close to the action, but removed enough that NO party noise disturbs sleep. Maybe if you return to Gili T we can provide you with information about ko-komo?
Best wishes,

The Beach House
