“Loved it!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2013

The staffs speaks very good English and friendly also. Me & my boyfriend stayed there for 4 days & 3 nights and we just loved it. We liked the overall view of the buildings there and, of course, the stunning sunset. We never missed any sunsets while we were there & the glittering view of night sky that we never found at the city.

But there's always the bad side in everything. The food at the resto & the beach resto was quite pricey and there's not much options for the menu. But all in all its the best experience for us so far.

A little tips for those who want to go to Gili Trawangan:
- Don't hand your suitcases or bags to anyone while you're in Bangsal or Trawangan harbour, unless you really need someone to carry it for you. Normally they will charge you 20-30 thousand rupiah for each porter.
- It's better to book the boat & transportation first before you go there, unless you're on a budget then just go with metered taxi (book at the airport) & public boat (25 thousand rupiah for each person & available until 3pm)

Room Tip: ask for free upgrade to the sunset bungalows

This is the perfect place to stay if you want to be aeay from crowds from the main strip. Reasonable price. Just a short horse ride (or 20min walk to the strip). The pool is very nice. We loved the outdoor bathroom concept. Staff all speak very good english and are super friendly. We were especially impressed by the way the way that the kitchen staff tailored to our egg specifications! Although i wouldnt recommend the grilled seafood buffet at night though. Good happy hour drinks.

This place is truely amazing. We got off the boat and tried to walk to the hotel but we was told its to fare and got a horse and cart.... its true it was to fare to walk. Whilst travelling on the horse and cart my heart sunk when we went past a bar in the middle of no wehere called exile and still hadnt reached Ombak Sunset. when we arrived we were so sad with how far it was untill we hires some push bikes and realised it was only 5-10 mins from all the beach bars! Once descover ing this we absoulty loved the hotel. It is peacfull. The rooms are beautifull!, we payed for the standard room but got a free upgrade to the sunset villas which was lovely. The toilette and shower room is outside in the garden which is beautiful, not over looked at all and is a really luxury. The beach is beauftifull, the resturates are lovely and the food is great. the bike rental isnt bad at £5.00 a day so we spent most of the day around the hotel and then would cycle to town every night!
This hotel is one of a kind and i will be coming back !

Room Tip: Teh sunset villa is perect

A big facility on the west side of Gili T, with the perfect sunset with Bali vulcano visible clear days.
The hospitality and service was above the expectations, the facility is very beatiful and the villas was very nice. Best bed on this trip. The poolarea meet al my wishes, the pool must be like 45 meters, and a nice pool bar with service late after sunset. So this could have been 5 star from me but there is a few downsides.
First the sea, it is so shallow that nobody swims or even go in to the water. At least this time of the year. But I did know that before I came so no surprise.
The restaurant was descent but no more, I true the barberque buffe and that's was noting special, and I had some biff the day after and it was far from good. But there is good options just 5 minutes walk away. And here comes the next problem, the Internet was a joke. It is not only slow (what can you expect on an island) but it trough You out all the time and you need ton log on every 5 minutes. Another reason to walk over to next hotel who has a much better Internet.
Finally the music played in the pool and in the restaurant was techno or other hard music. Ok , I'm getting old, but this part of the island is the remoted lazy part and not the party side.

But overall a very good alternative and there are few options on the harbour side of Gili T if you want to have some relaxed and quet stay on Gili T.

Hotel is amazing. They aren't just different rooms but seperate little villa's.
Nice inside and out. Outside bathroom is amazing but be carefull of the mosquitos! Shame there wasn't a mirror inside you had to get ready in the heat and the mosquitos.
Pool was amazing, pool side service was average. YOu have to call people over to service the pool bar.
We had free wireless which didn't always work and a free massage.
Very far from the action, hotel can organise a horse cart for you.
The beach restaurant and bar is beautiful too.
Cant swim in the beach opposite because of coral. A friend advised once you get in a metre deep the water its fine.
The resort was empty which is why i'm assuming the service was slow.

Room Tip: We stayed first row from reception. Rooms were amazing either way i think!

We asked to see a room and were offered a significant discount - more than 50% of the posted rates as it was very quiet in November and there was construction going on. The construction didn't bother us and we wouldn't have noticed if they hadn't mentioned it. Loved the location - with beautiful ocean views. The property is brand new and we stayed in a bungalow, which was a huge room, very clean, tastefully decorated with a large bathroom. I loved the longer than Olympic length pool. Food was OK and over-priced, and although the Ombak Sunset is a bit remote, it's not difficult to get to a variety of restaurants close by. The Exile is a 5 minute walk away, and although very casual compared to the luxurious Ombak Sunset, serves excellent food and drinks. Overall, a luxurious and beautiful new property. I would never consider paying full price to stay here, but at a discounted price, it was excellent value.
