Things you should know:

- once you get the off the boat, be prepared to find, rent and then ride a bicycle through a village for 20+ min to find this place

- I believe this hotel is one of the very few on the island which has fresh water showers! the pool is salt water and very long

- As soon as I saw the tub in the room I wanted to relax in it, but alas, the water came out so slowly, by the time it filled 30% of the tub, the water was already room temperature...

- they have fantastic home made pasta and lasagna noodles! Very nice breakfast options :)

- the rooms are huge!

- the bed has only 1 sheet. I wish they provided blankets. I would highly recommend investing in new mattresses as I had a sore neck after sleeping there...I couldnt really get comfortable in the night

- I do not recommend the spa. the foot bath is cold, the spa table I can feel the bars through the padding, the ventilation is a simple room fan, the music is one of the woman's cell phones playing on speaker, you can hear construction work and the mosque going off all during the massage, the most important part is the ladies do fast and light strokes which doesnt make for a relaxing massage.

- the manager is such a sweetheart! always offering help and super friendly!

The pool is beautiful! If you like doing long laps, you'll love this! Rooms are beginning to age but are so spacious, attractive and well appointed. A 5 minute walk to your own beach was great and a 15 minute walk to "the main drag" OK but a free push bike was available to use or only $5 taxi. A small price to pay for tranquility on a potentially noisy island. Excellent staff and service - many smiles and no additional charge to eat in your room was great, thank you! Antonio, the owner, was a delight! I would pursue him to his next venture; he is so thoughtful and generous in spirit. The care with all the little added touches is much appreciated, thank you Antonio. Improvements: perhaps an indoor/outdoor table in the room and more comfortable lounge and chairs.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the sunny side if you like sunbathing! Too hot for us in the sun so it didn't...

We had the absolute pleasure of staying here on our recent holiday/honeymoon to Bali. From the moment we arrived at the resort, Lucio (manager) and all the lovely staff went out of their way to ensure our stay was the best it could be. We were greeted And always assisted by the staff. lucio is an outstanding host who truly makes you welcome and feel at home.
We loved the location of this hotel, being away from the the hustle and bustle of the island and so relaxing! a short bike ride to the beach and main strip, always filled laugher upon night rides. bikes have night lights so this was not an issue for us.
The resort itself is simply breathtaking, need to experience it for yourself. my husband and I cannot wait to return to this hotel and extend our Many thanks to lucio and the team once again.. already missing Gili t and this hidden gem of a resort.

Luce d’Alma Resort is a very clean and comfortable resort with an awesome pool and probably is one of the better options on the island - that's if you are not looking for the Gilli backpacker adventure.

A lot of people don’t like the location, but I actually loved the location, as it was quiet and meant you got to see more of the island. The bike ride to either side of the island is fantastic and bumpy. The resort has plenty of bikes for easy island access.

I do have some suggestions for improvement – where are the blankets in the room? The AC gets cold at night. Also complimentary bottled water – I get that you have some kind of fresh water, but I am a tourist traveling in Asia so I want to brush my teeth with bottled water. Two small bottles of water when room service is done every day. Otherwise explain the water, we had to ask and then got a very unsure response. I think more needs to be explained when you check in, a lot more!!!

Also the quality of the breakfast could be improved, I really liked the setup of ordering what you want, but it could just be prepared a bit better – actually food all round was terrible at the resort, a few room service meals we did not even eat!!

Also did not like how I could not have an alcoholic drink at our room? So if you want to drink or unwind poolside at your room, it will have to be done without a cocktail. But you can go to the beach bar, where the staff there are lovely.

The Spa also needs some improvement, nothing major, just some more refining features and customer service gestures.

Now onto the good stuff.

The resort organised a private snorkel trip for us, which was amazing and great value. The pool is so beautiful and refreshing. It is lovely and quiet, very relaxing resort. Huge rooms, lovely tropical gardens and free Wifi.

I quiet like the staff at this place, not always onto things, but warm and friendly and happy to help when asked.

I think the overall thing to remember is that the Gilli Islands are very laid back and still somewhat hold that backpackers edge. So what I am trying to say is that …….. this is probably one of the better place’s on Gilli Trawanga, but don’t expect anything professional because I think in general the Gillis are not that way (which is part of the charm)

I really loved the Gillis, what a special place and I would stay here again and the resort really is beautiful and has huge rooms with a very relaxing pool.

Room Tip: My suggestion make sure you get a room on the right side of the resort so you don’t have the sun all...

We stayed at Luce d'Alma Resort early this May, delighted to discover an oasis of quiet and peace on a over bustling island. This secret little gem is nestled in a palm grove 5 min (bicycle ride) away from the waterfront which provides a chance to explore the island. The rooms are large and comfortable, charmingly decorated and open to a private pool entrance and oh what a pool!
The Indonesian staff are helpful and Lucio and Antonio (the owners) are exquisite hosts that have mastered the art of hospitality. Warm and friendly, they catered to all our needs and that of our two children. We highly recommend Luce d'Alma resort and will definitely visit again.

We selected this resort to relax after a three week trip throughout Indonesia. It is ranked #1 here on Tripadvisor so that should give quite a good indication of the quality. And most of the less-then-positive reviews are due to the location of Luce d'alma, which we really do not mind. It is only a short bike ride or walk to the beach (although some the good restaurants are a 30min walk away).

Antonio is a very friendly guy, the rooms are big and all situated alongside the pool, it's clean and first impressions were rather good.

Because we were relaxing on occaision we had lunch or dined in and were very surprised the food is just plain terrible. Please Antonio, do something about this. I would expect at least decent Italian food, but the caesar salade, pasta, pizza (on a baguette), etc are all just very bad indeed. As is the local cuisine by the way.

The staff are friendly most of the time but relentlessly keep on making mistakes (with orders, room service, etc), strangely they are sometimes rather rude and they simply did not give us the service which was expected and promised.

The rooms are large and clean. The couch & bed however are not comfortable at all. After 4 nights on one of these we both could use a chiropractor. The bathroom is large, but the shower is way too low for most western guests ( I am 6ft2 and could not fit by 3") and the water pressure (at least in room 102) is awful. The room does not come with water bottles. And the dvd's provided for one of the rainy nights are so badly scratched we were not able to watch one of them start to finish.

After weeks of travelling we so looked forward to a fun and relaxing time. but staying at luce d'alma was an anti-climax. Not in the least due to the pricing of this resort. At 145US per night in Indonesia you are entitled to a lot better service and all around experience.

Our recommendation is to select another place on beautiful Gili Trawangan

We had 2 nights here and chose this resort based on trip advisor reviews. Gili T is not a large island but this resort is located about 600-700 metres in off the main tourist strip. Whilst bikes are provided it is difficult to ride home at night as lighting is poor. Wouldn't recommend this resort if you have any mobility issues.Rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast is adequate. Water pressure in showers if you want a hot shower is poor. The best feature of this resort is the beautiful pool. It is well priced for the facilities on offer and it's location.
