“Good location, happy with the choice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2012

We stayed for 3 weeks in July in a one room studio-apartment with a fairly well furnished kitchen part. Since we cooked most of our evening meals there, this was great. The café downstairs was noisy but shut down at 1 AM (except for the opening night of the Olympic games, the night when we had to get up early next morning to catch our plane, then they kept on until the end of the ceremony).
Since there is not a 24 hour reception desk, things may be difficult if you arrive in the middle of the night. But if you arrive before midnight it is possible to pick up your keys in the café.
The hotel was placed in the center of the town: just by the bus station and 100 meters from the ferries to Eivissa, Santa Eulara etc.
We used the hotel as a base for driving around on the island and going on hikes, and the hotel suited our purposes pefectly.

Room Tip: No lift, so you have to walk the stairs.

Stayed August 2011 for 11 nights, family of four with father-in-law in tow and had a great time. We had a two bedroomed apartment with a massive balcony which overlooked the road and bus stop area. I had asked for a sea view, when booking through Travel Republic and technically you could see the sea when leaning over the balcony. However we weren't disappointed due to the size of the balcony and what became our new hobby "People Watching" - ace!! It wasn't noisy either which was suprising but the main bar area under the apartments was at the other side to our rooms. One warning though is that from about 1pm until about 6pm the heat on the balcony does become oppressive and i can bear heat.
The apartment is basically decorated with a well equipped kitchen, adequate living area and a spacious bathroom. Our rooms did have ceiling fans which cooled the rooms, if left on during the day with the curtains drawn.
There is also a pool area with loungers and parasols where we spent alot of time in the late afternoons. The beach does get busy in August, especially on Wednesdays when the "Hippy Market" visitors arrive, but we got a spot easily enough. There are plenty of great places to eat and again Wednesday did seem to be the busiest day and a struggle to get a table for 5 if you left it late!!
The buses are brilliant, really cheap and a great way to get around. We even got one from the airport instead of a taxi. Having stayed in Santa Eulalia before i can't say Es Cana is better but it is a cheaper alternative for sure. Would recommend to families for sure.
Oh the "Hippy Market", don't bother............

We weren't sure what to expect here as confused Es Cana Playa appartments with the Es Cane appartments just over the road . Well we were very pleasantly surprised at what we got .- a huge 2bedroomed appartment on the first floor with a massive balcony which directly overlooked the beach and sea views from every other window even the bathroom !!! There are 6 in total of 2 bedroomed appartments, 4 on the first floor (3 with sea view) 1 on 2nd floor with road view and 1 on 3rd floor with sea view. . There is no lift here as only 3 floors but email them as we did if need to with your preference. . Sarah the receptionist was very helpful and friendly.
The appartments are basic but very clean and spacious, plenty of storage space. Kitchen area and lounge separated by a large breakfast bar Cleaner came in every other day. Beware there is no air conditioning here only ceiling fans but you can hire fans or A/C units direct with owners To us this wasn't an issue as we went in May but could be a problem in Summer and be very hot at nights
By the way you can safley leave pushchairs etc in the entrance foyer on ground floor as access to the appartments is by security pass only , which you also need to access the l swimming pool . pool is OK but small but no problem getting sunbed or parasol. Wasn't busy at any time but dont forget you have the beach right on your doorstep with no road to cross.
Es Cana is a lovely place , would recommend to families, couples and older people . No problem with noise at night . Cant wait to go back and would well recommend as excellent value for money

Room Tip: room 107 is !st floor 2 bedroomed and 108 next door is 1 bedroomed both with great views directly...

The apartments are basic but clean, a cleaner comes alternate days but you do your own washing up. Overall they are ok but beware the sea view rooms have great views but the cafe below plays club music (a strange choice as most people are either older or families with young children) from about 8.30 am until past 1am! There is also a hotel across the bay which has all sorts of noisy things going on all day- you can hear every word their compere says. The other side of the flats is not much better as noise goes on echoing across until 6 in the morning. So an adequate place to stay on the beach but if you have trouble sleeping beware.

We stayed at these apartments for 3 nights and were a group of 5 women. For the price we paid (£45 a night for a 2 bed apartment) we didnt really know what we were going to get. We were pleasantly surprised as the apartment was very spacious, the rooms were a good size, plenty of storage and a fully equipped kitchen. It was also spotlessly clean, The best thing about the apartment though was the location and the view. We were directly on the beach in a small bay with everything we could want on our doorstep....shops, restaurants, bars and transport. Es Cana itself is a quiet place with mainly families or older people but you are not far from more livlier towns. The hotel also has its own small pool which is for guests only. The food at the Mar Vent restaurant over the road was extremely tasty and excellent value.

We stayed in the Es Cana Playa Apartments for two weeks in early August. The apartments are basic but are very clean and in a great location. Es Cana is a lovely resort and is ideal for families, the resort in general was well kept and the people friendly. We had a small balcony with a sea view from our apartment although some of the balconies are massive, there was some noise at night as we were above the restaurant but this usually wound down about 1am.
** Be warned these apartments are very hot at night and it would be wise to hire a fan or air conditioning **.
The apartments have a small pool area which could only be accessed with a security pass, this ensured that only guests staying at the apartments used the pool.
We found the train ride around the other beaches good value and a nice day out and the boat ride to Ibiza Town was well worth the money.
The restaurants in the area all seemed pretty good and quite a few offered a three course meal deal for around 10 euros.

Overall i would recommend the Es Cana Playa Apartments and Es Cana

Pros-
The Resort was well kept and friendly
Apartments are in a great location
Apartments are reasonably priced
Good transport links ( Bus, taxi and boats all on your doorstep)
Mainly families staying in Es cana, didn't see any trouble or rowdy behaviour

Cons-
Apartments very hot
Some night time noise due to location

Room Tip: Basic, clean, great location

Apartments are quite lovely. views are awesome. very spacious. Unfortunately if you are directly above Charlies bar the noise is awful. The bass of the music pounds until six am. If you are not above it you can shut the noise out. Air conditioning is a must because it is absolutely boiling this time of year but you do have to pay for it. Towels changed every day and beds twice a week. Dont go to the shop underneath the apartments it is very expensive. Go up the road and visit Prop supermarket. It is so much cheaper. The pool is quite small and sunbeds get taken pretty quick. Saying that the kids made some lovely friends by the pool. Receptionist very helpful and friendly. Had a cake from the bakery for a birthday. Best cake ever. Take a meal at cafetaire solimar. Very friendly without being in your face and excellent value for money. Lovely food at The bulls head but not so cheap. Be careful at the hippy market as the shops sell the same things for a less costly price. It is very busy there so hold on tight to your bag. Beach is qutie small if you dont use a sunbed and there are loads of weeds in the sea and on the beach. Full of famillies and no hassle off the looky looky men. All in all a lovely hoilday. Teenagers had a fabulous time in Charlies bar. Popeyes bar not so bad neither.
