“Simply the best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2010

Just returned from a ten day stay at Costas Golden Beach Hotel, where we celebrated our 20th Wedding Anniversary. from the moment we arrived to the moment we left, the whole experience was as good, if not better than all the previous reviews had suggested. The family/Staff could not do enough for us and made our Holiday one to
remember. We can now see why so many people go back on a regular basis.
Resort is quiet, but there are plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance, but do try the food in the hotel, as its very good quality.
Cannot believe Thompsons are not including this Hotel in 2011 brochure. A BIG MISTAKE in our opinion.

This year's holiday was our (myself and my adult daughter) third time at Costas Golden Beach, and as soon as we arrived we totally relaxed from the stresses and pressures of heavy workloads.

As always the staff at the hotel treat their guests like returning family. I had emailed before our holiday started asking if we could have the same room as we did the year before, and when we arrived after being greeted so warmly they handed us the room key and said 'you know which room you're in'. Nothing is too much trouble for them.

If only Thomson would change their mind and put the hotel back on their site because we want to book for next year, otherwise we will use another tour operator who will definitely scoop up this 'rare gem' of a hotel. Thomson has always been our preferred choice of tour operator to use so please take note of your customers WE LOVE COSTAS GOLDEN BEACH HOTEL.

We have just returned from another fantastic holiday at the Costas Golden Beach Hotel. The family ( Dina, Dimitri & Spiros) and staff go out of their way to make your holiday extra special and we always feel like we are coming home!

The hotel is in a superb location, directly on the beachfront. It is always immaculately clean and has lots of little extras not mentioned by the travel company such as drinkable cold water on tap ( this saves you a fortune as you do not need to buy bottled water). There is a swimming pool with plenty of sunloungers and a jacuzzi.

The breakfast is continental with lots of options such as cereal, cheese & ham, croissants, greek yogurt & fruit salad. They also have a fantastic cooked breakfast (bacon, egg, sausage, omlette, baked beans and mushrooms) which is only 2.50 euros and you can eat as much as you want!

In the evening you have a choice of the 'a la carte' menu or the buffet. Both options offer great value for money - the buffet was just 8.90 euros and included soup, 4 salad starters and a large choice of meat, fish & vegetables as the main course. A great option for large eaters as you can have as much as you want!

The evenng entertainment is varied and included a magic show, greek dancing, bingo, karaoke, a quiz night & pool competition.

The resort itself is fairly low key but there is an excellent selection of tavernas. There are approximately 15-20 to choose from and we haven't had a bad meal at any of them. If you come out of the hotel & go left there are 2 excellent fish restaurants ( approx 20-30 minute walk) that are well worth visiting. The first fish restaurant even offered a free taxi ride home to the hotel in the evening. There is also a bowling alley within a few minutes walk of the hotel as well as lots of watersport options.

We hired a car from 'Arillas rent a car'. We booked it prior to going over the internet & they provided an excellent service & good value for money. It is well worth travelling the island as there are so many great places to visit. We love Kassiopi, Agni, Kommeno Bay and Corfu Town. One of our favourite Tavernas is in Old Perithia and is called 'Forros'. The food is very traditional and great quality. If you don't want to hire a car there is a bus service right outside the hotel that goes to Corfu town.

This is a great holiday to relax in a peaceful location. I cannot praise the owners & staff of this hotel enough. Cannot wait to go back next year as the hotel just gets better & better!

Just got back from another fantastic 2 weeks at the Costas Golden Beach, and it is Simply the Best, very very clean and the owners Dimitri, Dina & Spiros gaveus a fantastic welcome as did all the staff, they cannot do enough for you. I can't believe that Thomson are dropping this fantastic Hotel for 2011 after 25 years, most people once they have been just want to go back year after year. We have no complaints whatsoever and always compare other places to the Golden Beach

This was, quite simply, the most welcoming and friendly hotel we've ever stayed in. The hotel is run by a lovely family and all other staff working there are exceptional. The location is superb, a quiet resort off the beaten track, with a sandy beach on your doorstep, a well-kept pool area, plenty of sunbeds, and beautifully maintained gardens and public areas. Free internet access and cold drinking water were a huge bonus.
We totally chilled out from day one. Cannot praise this hotel enough, we had a fantastic time here, and can understand why so many guests return time and time again.
There are plenty of decent tavernas within walking distance, more uphill if you can face the climb, or hire a car, and loads of lovely walks if you mange to get up early and avoid the afternoon's heat!
Local prices were not too bad, we had expected worse given the current state of the Greek economy, and ate and drank well well within our budget.
We would definitely recommend a visit here if you are looking for a relaxed and low key resort.

This was my first holiday abroad. And I loved every minute.
The hotel is small 40 rooms and family run.
we flew with Thompson upon landing at the tiny airport, we had an excellent welcome by the reps and a nice coach to a mid point destination. Your travel provider my vary, but here we had to change to a mini bus. The hotel is reached by a narrow, hilly road, which larger coaches can't access.
Even though we got to the hotel at 10pm we were welcomed, bags carried to our room and made sandwiches.
The room was excellent, a lovely view from the balcony, clean, spacious and tidy (as was the whole hotel)safe, air con. Drinking water from a fountain in the hotel.
All hotel owners and staff were so friendly. I really felt at home. we met many people during our stay who visit year after year and I understand why.
The hotel is situated opposite the beach. Which is small, quiet and picturesque.
I loved the buffet breakfast. The fruit etc tasted lovely. the evening meal was also buffet, but I recommend trying the restaurants along the beach, such as Delphinis, Blue Heaven etc
Everywhere it seems the food is delicious.
There is some entertainment in the hotel, bingo, karaoke, and an excellent magic show.
I recommend Spiros' cocktail!
If you like walking this is also a great holiday. There are several pretty walks to the next villages or along the cliffs.
I recommend doing a tour such as "Simply Corfu" you get to see numerous places of interest, lots of history and the most stunning place on the island " Paleokastritsa" the heart-shaped bay, where a James Bond was filmed.
If you don't do the tour try to visit there; take a boat trip around the bay and caves. Wow!
A bus stop is opposite the hotel going to Corfu town. Worth a visit, but so different full of hustle and bustle.
Overall the resort is quite quiet; no nightclubs. Beautiful! Great for couples or a peaceful getaway...

I CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK!!!!!!!
