A very friendly family run hotel in a fabulous setting. The rooms were spotless and the owner had thought of everything to make our stay comfortable. The mosqiito screens were brilliant , A hairdryer was provided and was perfectly adequate. No need to take a mirror as the large magnifying mirror provided was good enough to put my lenses in and apply my make up. A washing line ran the length of the rear garden and plenty of clothes pegs were available. No need to buy water for drinking as a water fountain was free. There were enough tavernas nearby but as the food in the hotel was excellent we dined in the resturant a couple of times. We have had more expensive holidays but this was one we shall remember for a long time and we hope to return.

A very warm and friendly welcome was experienced at this magnificent family run hotel in a quiet but simply stunning corner of Corfu!. It was very dark when we arrived and quite late so we had no idea of the expansive view that was awaiting our stunned eyeballs the next day! A quick check in and prompt escort to our room was very welcome. All was explained (Free Air Con, Mozzy Screen across the main doors (A 1st), free safe etc) in our spacious and very clean room with a brand new bathroom including a shower with closing doors...so NO slippery floor!

Settled in and then went down to the bar, as you do, and was offered a sandwich on the house! So with a beer for me and a Gin & Tonic for my wife we began our 2 weeks of sheer relaxation in what looked like a superb choice of hotel...always a relief eh folks?

Staff in the hotel couldn't be more helpful and welcoming. Many have worked at the CGB for many years and took a great deal of pride in their jobs. The family who own the hotel are ever present and are simply devoted to you having a good time. They have built a tremendous reputation over the years and is reflected in the many Gold Awards from Thomson.

The pool and area around is spotless and the gardens are very colourful and beautiful!

The food in the evening restaurant (7pm to 9.30pm) is fantastic with a wide choice to suit all tastes. They always have specials for the day which are always mouth watering. We only ate out twice out of curiosity in 14 nights. There are several restaurants nearby overlooking the beach... a little quiet in October but enough eating to create a good atmosphere. Back at the CGB the restaurant was busy every night! Busy...but not overcrowded as Anastasia took great pride in making sure each new table was occupied at a manageable rate so you were never waiting long either before or during your meal.

The hotel is situated slap bang in the middle of the beautiful Agios Gordios beach/bay with high hills (some would say mountains) to the left and right. The beach is literally a few steps across the road and you can choose to go to the left or the right or stay where you are...the choice is yours!

In summary, this resort and this hotel forces you to chill out, relax and take life a lot slower...just what we wanted. So if you want a welcome that’s warm and memorable, a quality hotel with all amenities (inc. Free fresh water), great food, helpful staff and a view that you never tire of with stunning sunsets...then you have found it!

Enjoy...we did!

Room Tip: Upstairs Room overlooking the pool is probably best if you like a wide and open view. Rear facing ro...

Stayed here last 2 years in May and hasn't changed a bit. Lovely family lovely hotel and the food fantastic. 4 star it isn't insofar as rooms but only on size still lovely and clean and with a fantastic sea view. Fab pool and staff, you won't meet friendlier people. Marias snack shack on the beach is fantastic with some of the most tastiest salads BLT sandwiches you will ever taste. Just love the place and it's our bolthole when we want a stress free break.

We can’t really add much to all the top reviews this hotel gets here on Trip Advisor except to say we found them all to be true and could not fault this great family run hotel. We were after a ‘late escape’ and spotted this hotel on the Thomson website. It was straight over to Trip Advisor and the constantly good ratings made our minds up. What a great decision.

Superbly run by Dimitri and his family, the hotel is so friendly, spotlessly clean and superbly maintained. Nice pool area, beach across the road, some great walks leading to some beautiful viewing points and a selection of friendly local tavernas. What more could you want!

Other things worth a mention, we did the one-day island tour on offer from Thomson’s as we had not visited the island before and it was well worth it. Corfu Town is well worth spending some time in, we spent a late afternoon\evening there and the atmosphere was great. Grab a drink and watch the world and the locals go by!

As has been stated many times in these reviews, Agios Georgios is a small, quiet beach resort so steer clear if you are after the lively party scene.

Everything which has already been said about this hotel is true. From the warm welcome you receive when you first arrive to the first class service you receive throughout your holiday. The rooms are clean and comfortable and more akin to a hotel room in the UK than Corfu (having stayed in a number of hotels in and around the Greek islands this was a real bonus). The resort is quiet with a number of nice tavernas, it's not the prettiest Greek island we have been to but we did relax into it and if you like walking there are several pretty walks around resort. The area is not for those who want bars and discos but perfect for a wind down week which we welcomed having spent the first week on an Adriatic cruise. Thank you to Dimitri, Dina and Karen the Thompson rep - you are all wonderful hosts.

Room Tip: We had a pool/sea view at the front of the hotel which was lovely.

Just returned from a week's stay at the Costas Golden Beach hotel. We had chosen it because so many previous reviewers had loved it, and we weren't disappointed. From the very first greeting to the farewell hugs, the family and their staff were magnificent. You almost felt that rather than welcoming you to a hotel, they were welcoming you to their family home. The hotel is immaculate, and the luxuriant gardens add to the lovely atmosphere. The village itself was winding down to the end of the season, but it still was a lovely spot for walking, relaxing and refreshing the soul! Alison, our rep, who was filling in for the last week of the season, couldn't have been nicer.

Room Tip: If you want real peace and quiet, ask for a room away from the main reception area.

The family are wonderful hosts, very warm and welcoming. Location nice and peaceful - a few tavernas to choose from. Food generally quite good - will say though if you have a smaller appetite either order off the childrens menu or ask for half portions where possible!!

Room Tip: sea view best
