“hotel sandy beach corfu”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2013

on arrival to this hotel we were checked in within 5 minutes our luggage piled in to a motorized cart and we were at our room within less than two minutes. we were near the family pool on the second floor. near to the pool theatre. here in the mornings at 10am they start the games.. so if you want a lay in.. this isnt for you. slides, archary etc... bar all inclusive... plastic cups for drinks around the pool. glass lasses in the the main hotel bar.
second pool very nice next to restruarant which i might add has a very amazing selection of international buffet style food. and fresh fruit along with wine, beer, soft drinks and tea and coffee.
a different theme every night..
the third pool is near the beach which the hotel stands on.. the beach has umbrellas and sun lounges for 6 euros a day.
around the pool sun loungers are plentiful.
this hotel is very international hotel. we certainly knew how to speak russian or german when we came home.
through the middle of the complex is the pathway to the beach.
arriving at the beach turning left is a very bars and taverna's
oceano has the best food, wine, management and view of the sunset
and the europia was the best bar for drinks karoke and premier league football.
all in all this was a fantastic holiday for us ( couple ) and we would recommend this for couples in september but maybe families in the summer holidays.
they also have a small pool for the toddlers.
the weather was about 30 degrees with a slight wind. i didnt even burn.
dinning is .. breakfast 8 -10.30 lunch 12.30 4.00 dinner was 6.30 till 9.00
considering they only had a two hour break in between turnaround they excelled theirselves.
this is a chilled holiday. you can hire bikes and there is a few trips to be had. we booked an evening trip to corfu with glass bottom boat for 25 euros each. just make sure you know how much your paying for your food if you sit at one of the places near the harbour as we got a bill for 65 euros for something we ordered because we hadnt checked the prices before.

Room Tip: ask for a pool view or even a sea view

If you are familiar with travelling in the Greek islands and all that it embodies, you are likely to appreciate this property.

It is, by local standards, very good. The property is well maintained and the services are of a requisite standard in terms of cleanliness and condition.

As an all inclusive resort the buffet service is good, with fresh food and salads plenty, although the wine could be better and the beer a little less light. A La Carte options are available at the time of writing this but we didn't take this up so couldn't pass comment. Lots of really good value meals to be had in the local village if you want to wander off site though.

The location is truly outstanding being directly on a superb golden fine sand beach. The nearby village offers a safe environment to explore with a good selection of tavernas and restaurants. This location lends itself towards couples and families.

The Sea Sport activities offered by Nikos on the beach are great value, fun but above all safe.

As a family or as a couple alone we have returned here a number of times since 2001 and intend to carry on doing so.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms are typically closer to the beach, whereas garden view are typically toward the inter...

Just returned from a fab visit to this hotel. Traveled with hubby and kids(22 and 19). You get what you put into this venue. We wanted a chilled, relaxed holiday and that's what we got. After reading some of the revues before we arrived, I was nervous, some reviews were terrible,so we did not know what to expect. We arrived very late so all the bars and restaurants were closed but were presented with a welcome pack, containing a sandwich and fruit, which was a nice touch.the next morning went to the "dreaded restaurant". I really don't know what people expect but we found the service and and food a very good standard, all choices were catered for.In fact every meal we had there and we ate there every day for 7 days, the food was great, yes somethings were repeated but if you don't like this you could go to the village tavernas. The pools were very clean and had lots of sun beds available. The bars were also good, the beer was cold, the wine was nice, the cocktails were great, all inclusive stops at 11pm then after a charge is made for drinks. The rooms were ok,cleaned every day, with fresh towels every 2 days. Yes our rooms were a little dated and the views not fantastic but were very large and clean. The beach is great but you have to pay for the sun-beds,but nice for a change of scenery, great bar on the beach for a drink(this is not part of the hotel so there is a charge)fantastic to sit and admire the view. The village is about 5 mins walk from the beach exit of the hotel,a great place for a night out, several great tavernas and a few shops. We used the bus service to go into Corfu town with a small charge, brilliant value for money. There is entertainment on every night if thats you cup of tea.Overall we had a great relaxing, easy going holiday, just what we wanted !

Room Tip: Ask for a first floor room, that way you may get a sea view

Arrived back this morning after our 2nd visit to Aquis Sandy Beach. We again had a fantastic holiday, the food was fantastic and something for everyone, the chefs are happy to cook you something plainer if you prefer, I have allergies and they catered for my needs. Billy the life guard does an amazing job with the kids on the water slide, he really looks after them. The reception team are very helpful and sort any problem quickly and efficiently. There are loads of activities to join in daily for all ages. Every where is clean and tidy, rooms and towels were cleaned/ changed daily. The beach is beautiful, lots of water sports available. Only downside really was the evening entertainment, it was mostly quite dull, the worst being 3 female dancers; we'd prefer something a bit more fun with audience participation. Oh and the management are not really very friendy, it would have been nice if the ones we saw actually smiled.
We would definitely go again as it really is the perfect place for a family.

Room Tip: Ask for the newly built rooms.

We travelled as a family of 5, 2 adults and 3 children, aged 11, 9 and 7. Overall we had a lovely time. The food was fine - loads of variety and all very tasty. The main restaurant got very busy but if you get in there early for each meal then it is bearable! The wine is not watered down, it is just a lower alcohol percentage than we would be used to at home (10.5%). It isn't great but you soon get used to it and, considering the heat it is probably just as well it's not too strong!
The staff are very helpful if you are respectful to them. The restaurant staff particularly work so hard but some people just show them no respect at all. If you build up a rapport with them then you will definitely benefit from better service. Our particular thanks go to Giannis, a waiter in the main restaurant, Kostas, the chef who was constantly preparing fresh food in the restaurant and Sprios at the pool bar. All of these employees would chat to us and made sure we were well looked after. Dawn in Guest Relations is fantastic as well.
Our room was fine. The air conditioning is great and the beds are comfortable. Everything seemed clean. The bathroom was quite small and needed updating but we never had any problem getting hot water. We were right by reception which I assume must be one of the newer rooms.
We were dubious about the pools as they sometimes looked green and we had read previous reports on here about problems with the pools. I had a discussion with Dawn from Guest Relations and came away happy that the pools are safe to use even when they are green. The children loved the slides and there were plenty of sunbeds. On the downside, there were people using the pools inappropriately, eg infants with no nappies on being pulled out with dirty costumes, people changing dirty nappies right on poolside by the ice cream and bar! This is something that we feel really needs to be clamped down on as it was pretty disgusting and didn't fill us with much confidence about getting in the water!
The beach was lovely, really sandy and the sea was shallow for quite a way out so great for the children. Lots of fish so the children enjoyed looking for them with their snorkelling masks and nets! The only downside is having to pay for brollies and loungers on the beach. The hotel say it's because the beach is public and not their property but it's actually people from the hotel charging and the same sunbeds. Still worth going down there though and making a day of it.
The supermarkets in the village are much better value than the one at the hotel - 2 Euros difference on a bottle of wine. The village starts at the edge of the hotel and it probably only takes a maximum of 10 minutes to walk right to the other end. We didn't eat in any of the tavernas but they were plentiful and looked good value.
We went to Corfu town for the day on the bus which cost 2,90 Euros per person each way. Plenty of souvenir shops and places to eat. We also did the Kaiki boat trip to the mainland for a beach bbq. This was a lovely trip but quite expensive and the food was nothing special.
Overall, this is a huge resort which could do with the addition of another restaurant area and another bar area to avoid congestion. However, if you have any problems and actually speak to someone about them then you should find they are resolved quickly. We had a good time and would recommend it to other families looking for a good value, comfortable all inclusive with plenty to do.

Room Tip: Our room was number 814 - right by reception. No problems at all there and very quiet. Also, the b...

The rooms were not ready when we got the key. It took 2 complaints / 7 hours before we got towels. Rooms were partially refurbished, but should have been better. telephone in the room, and elevator did not work and was not fixed during the week.
The food was good and there was a good selection.
Okay stay, but does not correspond to one (4 *) as startour advertise.
We will not choose the same hotel / place again.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms near the beach with sea views.
